Yeah but why tf does the dongle have to be attached to a 3ft fucking cord . It’s so unnecessary , now I have a 3ft cord coming out of my Xbox just to attach the fucking dongle
Thats my only gripe. Techne im going with the 7 x’s steelseries is hit n miss i have small but elf type ears😂. Purchased the nova 3 mic broke out of the box. My buddies had issues with tye 3’s also
In New Zealand they trying to sell us these for $500, and in Australia $400, but I managed to pick a pair for $280 with free delivery in AU from AU Amazon. Just got them recently, I had bit of an issue after firmware update of the dongle and headphones they just froze and were unresponsive, but after pushing "factory reset" button inside that tiny hole it seems to have fixed the issue and they been working great so far. Pretty happy with them!
Ok this review really sold me and I went out and bought a 7x wireless since I have a Xbox series x and PS5. You’re right Techne, there’s definitely body and beauty in the sound reproduction of this headset. I had a arctis 7p previously which was amazing for directional sound but even after eq it lacked body and punch. With the smiley preset for the 7x wireless the body is instantly there and I even did a rather odd comparison. I started watching captain marvel with my audezy penrose x and halfway through switched over to the nova 7x and there is a noticeable vibratory rumble with the 7x that impressed me. Now that being said, I returned the nova 7x this morning because as beautiful as they are, that inspired me to spend the extra money for the nova pro wireless for the Xbox to use on both systems. Btw, for anyone wondering, the nova 7x has more body and vibrancy than the 7p and Chat works fine on ps5, you just can’t use the chat wheel, you’ll have to use the sound icon in the ps5 home menu. Techne, you were right about this headset, it’s beautiful
@@Pringle15 I just got the Nova 7X after the Arctis 9's Bluetooth died on me. It's a really nice headset, especially if you EQ tune it, since sound is the only thing that's not perfect IMO. The feature set on it is lacking nothing. The Nova pro has better sound supposedly, but I doubt it's worth the extra money, unless you just have money to burn. Maybe it is though
@@zach99999 I was expecting to spend between 250-400 on a new set. I've been using an astro mixamp tr with my sennheiser gsp500 for the last 3-4 years and the headset is starting to crack. Only reason I'd get the nova pros is for the GameDac(and id go wired)but from what I've seen most features aren't available on the series x. Thank you for the input, I might go with the 7x
Have a look at nova Pro wired, he said it was the best for sound. And they will always make the pro better than the others, you even get to change the eq sound easy without any other software.
If you're on xbox I'd avoid the nova pro wirless they have a terrible mic issue on xbox since launch that hasent been fixed yet. I returned them for this issue also uncomfortable the anc nubs hurt my ears. I ordered the niva 7x should have them by Tuesday.
I’m pretty sure they changed the forks to plastic because metal on plastic before was causing the shell to crack whereas plastic on plastic that won’t happen.
Unfortunately this had happened to my Arctis 9X. I had them for over 2 years (best wireless headset i've had by far) and was distraught when I heard my headset crack while gaming. Luckily these JUST came out and I was about to order the 9X again.
@@Mystix63 I just received my nova 7x headset a couple weeks ago. Honestly prefer it over the 9x just due to the price and better battery life. It also has USB-C instead of micro USB. A few downsides are that the Nova does not have a metal frame like the 9X, it is made of a durable plastic, but it still feels solid. On top of that, while the 9X can connect wirelessly like a controller, you have to connect the dongle that comes with the Nova 7X to connect it to your Xbox. For other platforms however, I'm not sure, but if you're completely fine with using the USB slot on your xbox to connect the dongle, it's honestly a solid deal.

@@Mystix63 honestly Theo if your console or pc you can't go wrong with the 7x, I have the 9pro with dac wired absolutely excellent and the 7+ are the best headphones for ps5 as they have 3D and set them up yourself but the price for the difference I would go for 7x, I also have Astro A50s and turtle beach
WORD, im still researching which ones which and which one i need and the differences. mostly between NOVA 7X and 7x. The 9x has LOADS of problems so not worth
I’ve had the 9x for a couple years. Sound isn’t as loud as they once were and audio is cutting out intermittently. I may be getting these as a replacement.
I've recently bought the Steelseries Arctis Nova 7X due to it's multi-platform connectivity, the fact that it has a dongle ánd an aux cable for wired use and mostly, because of many experienced people saying it's a good headset. Sadly for me, mine has some issues and I don't know how to fix them (yet). Firstly, when I record a video on my PS5 and watch it back later, (EA FC 24) my voice sounds a bit elektronic during random moments every several sentences despite me lowering the mic volume to 50% or so because of the max mic level being too loud and my voice then making the mic pop. I haven't heard the many, many tech youtubers I watched mention this problem at all. The mic also doesn't sound like a 150 dollar headset level mic but more like a budget headset's mic. I've also used the Steelseries GG app's engine to adjust the settings, including the mic, to make them better based on tech youtubers' tips. The headset also occasionally loses connection with the dongle whether I use the extension cord with it or the dongle on it's own despite the fact that I'm only a couple of meter away from the dongle. My brother has the same headset and we use ours simultanuously on PS5 to make video's for ourselves and he has more of a static hiss when his headset is on while I experience more of a robot voice during every few words used in every few sentences. Does anyone have any useful solutions to maybe help make this headset worth it's cost?
@VinRoo1989 Does the Game/Chat volume wheel also work on PS5? If you buy the 7P that wheel is for the volume of your own voice. On the 7X this is a Game/chat controle. How does that work on PS5 ?
Do the metal pins where the headband goes into the earcup still crack the plastic? or was that fixed in this model? I am super gentle with my Arctis 7X headphones because of that known common issue. Despite that I love these SteelSeries headphones, great sound, great battery life.
Good day Techne, Say, I'm considering buying the Nova 7's; however, what is a deal breaker for me are shallow ear cushions. I own the previous Arctis 7's, and Arctis 9's, and to be honest, I always felt that the pads on all the Arctis line were too shallow for me. Can you please tell me how the new Arctis Nova 7's compare to the previous cushion depth? Are the new ones the same, or deeper than previous headsets? I really need to know this in order to make a purchasing decision. Your help would be appreciated, and thank you.

Why do I need this dongle on my Xbox? This seems like an unnecessary attachment when my controller is working via Bluetooth just fine… I am looking for a headset which can be connected via Bluetooth without a dongle and has usb c for charging If I got it right, the arctic 9x does not need a dongle, but it’s charges with micro usb which is just outdated for like a decade …

@@clawson32104 for the Arctis Nova Pro's sure but not the wireless, I can't find any ear cup replacements for the Arctis Pro Nova Wireless yet and that's due to the unique design it has to support the headsets ANC.

I've had 3 different headsets recently. An Astro A50 that I bought for (and loved) the charging dock, a Logitech g935 I got to replace the A50 once it's occasionally problematic firmware bricked itself, and now a Nova 7x. I'm not an audiophile, I'm fine with all 3 on sound. The g395 kept crapping out in various ways such as unresponsive mic but bot better once I uninstalled the hub software. But the signal range of the g935 was less than my A50 (despite having a larger advertised range than the A50) which lost me the ability to go upstairs to my kitchen during a work meetings. The range on the Nova 7x seems to be a little better than my a50. I'll miss the dock for convenient charging, but so far I'm quite happy with my nova 7x.
@@dravenripley9468 To be honest, sound quality isn't as big of a deal for me, so I'm probably not a great resource. All I can say is that I don't recall being either impressed or disappointed with any of them.
What do you think of comfort? I have the Astro A50 gen 3’s atm and can’t get over the comfort ness, I can wear them all day without my ears getting hot (although sometimes they’ll feel a bit heavy on my head). But right now the volume wheel on them has messed up, it only turns it down so I’m struggling with volume. Looking to get something else but just as comfy and hopefully slightly better/lighter
How are these compared to the Pros ? I love the Pros practically all the same features, I’m in one month and my base station stopped working sadly, I am getting a replacement from SteelSeries but are these any better than the Pros ???

Hey Techne, been loving your Nova Pro line-up! Was looking at upgrading from the Arctis 7P+ I have to the new Novas, although I've seen little-to-none on the difference between Nova 7 Wireless, Nova 7X and the Nova 7P. I'm assuming it's just branding differences, considering they're the exact same specs on the site (Also that 7P isn't able to be used on Xbox, but 7X CAN be used on PS) Also, speaking of features; Party Volume, does the 7P version allow that for PS, or only on the 7X's for PC and Xbox? If it's available on PS I'd probably choose the 7P just considering I'm more often than not on PlayStation, that's what all my mates play on. Does the 7X support Spatial Audio like the Arctis 7P+ do?
It looks like it is mostly branding, however the chat dial is different between them. According to the website, the 7 and 7P are identical except the 7P does not have chat dial, but instead has a sidetone dial and has a blue headband. The 7 and 7X are identical except the 7X supports Xbox and has green headband.
Buy Astros. Trust me. I judt got these and I'm unbelievably unimpressed just because the dialog sound is just horrible. I'm going to try to play with the eq's but to be honest I regret the purchase. If I still only played fps online games, I'd be satisfied but since I mostly only play story games now I don't like. But get the x ones. The chat this he talks about is not a chat mixer, it just turns down the microphone feedback (hearing your own voice when you talk but I'm coming from Astoro A50s as main so I'm completely used to that) you can still turn a different knob that adjusts chat to game and it works across all devices.
@@caveresch carefull with those. This guy loves everything just to get free headsets I heard. I just got the nova pro wired. wired always sounds much better. and also the Sennheiser PC38X. Both very different but very good.
In the same boat man, wanted to buy a headset to play God of War and bought the 7P+. But saw these and Sony Inzone H7 are newer and around the same price range. Wondering if it’s worth the hassle of returning them and going for one of these. However I do like how the 7P+ look.

Only differences I can see are the design, slightly longer battery life and the Bluetooth compatibility. Now it’s just a matter of am I bothered to go through the hassle lol
@@xBlitzzYT aaaaah I’m not really sure. It’s hard when you don’t have the other headsets to compare them side by side. Blue tooth capability and more battery life does seem as added bonus a $30 price difference for that upgrade. As for the H7 I’ve seen that they are on sale. So I’ll probably give it more thought throughout the day and will let you know what I decide if it helps sway your decision as well.

I'm glad to see new wireless Series X headsets coming out with a proper dongle, instead of direct pairing. I have the TB Stealth 700 gen 2, and the Razer Kaira Pro. They both direct pair to my XBox, but they are constantly losing connection and therefore sound, Its very irritating.

Buck I have the TB gen 2 for ps5 and they never lose connection, I have heard quite a few complaints about the Xbox gen2, the usb for ps5 is tiny aswell, I recommend Steele series 7+ or 7x for your Xbox they are really good rated best headphones for ps5 with 3D different settings but Astro A50s for FPS
@@darrenjk5438 a dongle is constant connection for TB 700 gen 2 I have a pair and I have heard a lot of compliments about Xbox gamers losing connection quite a lot being Bluetooth, I have 9pro wired with dac, 7+ for the 3D on ps5 and Astro A50s for FPS with 9pro are amazing for CoD/modern warfare with optical output that cant be beat, a lot better than dongle or usb
I got the corsair Virtuoso XT because of the dual wireless + USB-C, but ended up finding them really uncomfortable. Looks like I'll be trading those in and trying these out!
I've got the regular 7x+ and they are the best headset I've ever used. I've only used 4 other headsets but it beats all of them by a mile. can't go wrong with them
Cloud flight/alpha wireless is super comfortable, avoid logitech headsets they are super uncomfy., these are pretty good too. The kraken v3 pro is pretty comfy too.

@@kaidholakia6609 I currently bought both the arctis 7x+ and nova 7x… I really like both, my only problem with the 7x+ is that the ear cups cannot slide up and down cause they sit kind of high on my ears. Personally though I think no matter what, i am probably spending the extra $30 on deeper ear cups for both styles. I was hoping to keep the arctis 7x+ bc the headband was quite comfortable and i was saving $40… im still unsure, but I think im keeping the novas because i can adjust ear cup height.

@@gabrielrodriguez348 Alphas? It depends, they have great battery life, very wide, warm and detailed sound. But there is no buletooth, there are no media controls (cannot play/pause music), the dongle looks a bit cheap. There are buttons for mute, power and volume rocker. Also they create better seal than Nova 7, but the material quality is not as nice as Steelseries AN7 or Corsair HS80.
Realistically, how much of an improvement would these be over the Arctis 1 Wireless? I know for a fact they'll be more durable and sturdy with a stronger base / materials, but in terms of sound? I want to know if it's worth dropping £160 on these as I think, sadly, my Arctis 1 headset is giving up.
I have both the Nova 7x and 7p for my Series X and PS5. Sound out of the box is neutral and much better than the terrible Xbox official headset. Even EQ couldn't make Xbox headset sound good so I returned it for these Nova's. I EQ'd these very slightly to make the soundstage open up even more. Games and Music sound very nice. Some may want more bass though.
Thanks for your review, I just upgraded from the Arctis 7X+ to the Nova 7X, and what a sound difference over the Arctis 7X+. The only thing negative I have to say about the set is the damn LED on the dongle, is there any way to turn it off?, if not I'm going to use a small piece of electrical tape to block it. if i can help you at all, bud i prefer these new ones over the pro. By a mile, but it could just be me. If i can save you a few bucks awesome, but i recommend this headset.
I had the Nova Pro wireless and loved it. But because of the noise cancelling mics on the inside of the earcups it was uncomfortable. I returned them but these are looking like an excellent alternative. Ordered a pair!
Please tell me how they fit when you get them. I have the Nova Pro Wireless and I don't feel the noise cancelling thing. The ear cushions are uncomfortable so I will make sure to buy a replacement pair when they come out.
@@joshuathefirst the 7x are perfect for me. Lighter than the Nova Pro and no ANC bump in the earcups. The Sportsweave pads feel the same as the older Arctis models but maybe just a tad firmer which I wanted. I know with my Arctis 9x that the pads were too soft out of the box and my ears touched the driver's. Zero issues with the 7x. So far it seems perfect for my needs.

I've seen a review done by a Chinese uploader saying despite its amazing comfort and good audio for movies and musics, the Razor Blackshark V2 Pro performs poorly in compeitive gaming cause the footsteps and gunshot direction gets all muddled. What's your experience on that?
@@billchenbt i do play alot of Warzone my self. Let me say it in another way. The Blackshark V2 Pro, is a loud headset. You can turn down the volume. Its better it loud, instead of a weak headset. I got the Epos h6pro closee with the dac, and even though it has great sound, the sound was to weak. I returned the headset. Back to the razer, i got good directional sound with it. No problem at all. Vertical sound was also clear for me. I just like trying out different headset, thats why i changed to TB stelth gen 2 max. Razer is a 9/10 headset. You wont be disapointed. By default they do not get as loud. You have to use the Steel Engine on your computer and turn the volume limiter off. It's on by default and turning it off makes them much louder.
I didn't know these were coming out, I tried the wireless Pro headset, but found them uncomfortable and the headset would interfere with my other Steelseries headsets. Currently rocking the Artic 7x+ but going to give this a shot
The 7x are just the 7+ but newer model I have the 9pro wired with dac for FPS and astro A50s but for RPG or 3D duel sense the 7+ are rated best PlayStation headset
This is from a person who has experienced almost every gaming and music headset, these nova 7x are the ultimate addition to gaming and music audio headsets! Period. They are perfect! Rich and deep bass and high treble and mids! I highly recommend the nova 7x over any other gaming headset on the planet! But, also any music headset on the planet also! When you adjust that EQ setting just right, "🤯💥 boom" ,it blows my mind away. Steele series has done a fantastic job with these headset because not only due they sound superb on gaming but also sounds ultimate on music! I wouldn't have it any other way! Also did I mention that they are, and I quote: " stinkin cozy asf!" Excilante.

Don't get the pro wireless and don't get the pro wired just get the nova 7x's and I promise you that will be the last headset you'll ever purchase! The Nova 7x's is the ultimate headset for gaming and music. I stand behind this too! You will not be disappointed. Also go into the Steele series GG engine and adjust your EQ settings to your liking and enjoy forever!

If you are tired of purchasing headset for gaming and music that just doesn't give you what you're looking exactly for then by all means the nova 7 and 7x's will get the job done! They are loud asf! But like I said you can adjust them to your liking that's what so special about them! Now if, if, you want noise cancelling then you would purchase the nova pro wireless but make sure they're for Xbox so you can use them on a lot of platforms like the 7x's.

@@captainkayto6877 it's no disadvantage! Trust me. I've also convinced the guy that works for best buy also and he tried them out. The next time I saw him he gave me a hug and thanked me! He said," I'll never have to purchase another headset for gaming and music ever again thanks to you. I've been in the position to test ever gaming headset and music audio headsets and nothing on the market compairs to nova 7 or the 7x's. Also the only other gaming headset that's good for gaming and music is the level 40 PDP! Even though they're wired you'll be surprised the Punch they pack! Bass and treble plus mid is on point. The only downside is that the level 40 PDP isn't stinking cozy! But if you're on a budget they won't disappoint either!
Personally, I still prefer the stealth 600 gen 2 max. Way easier functionality, better bass and highs, and the mic design is better and sounds way better. Turtle beach also has better battery life. For some reason steel series headsets sound too flat for my liking. I like to have the bass and treble boost that turtle beach offers to make me feel fully submerged in the game I’m playing.
Bought the gen 2 700 a year and a half ago and the broke at the screws on the left ear piece. Had the 600 before didn’t like them at all. Picked up the nova 7 on Friday and I love them! The gen 2 700 was nice but for the price they’re built way to cheap. Before the cracks it would always squeak and crack when I would move them around. Didn’t like how cheap they were built. Let’s see if these novas hold up. Definitely won’t be going back to turtle beach lol

I bought the Arctis 7x but returned them because the mids were utter garbage. How do the Nova 7's sound now? Gadgetry Tech shows that the upper mids dip quite a bit but how do they compare to the Arctis 7x? Hopefully they fixed that because they sounded terrible.
I didn't see or hear if you noticed the low volume by default. I know using Steel Engine that it has a volume limiter option which by default is set to on. I turned it off and the headset is noticably louder now.
9x is good but I hate micro usb. The 7x have usb c, longer battery life and fast charging 9x is only good for xbox and pc(dongle) 7x is a multi platform if you have xbox, ps5 or switch
I do own a 9x and I can confirm the connectivity issues with my xbox and also noticed the range got shortened in overtime use. I ordered the nova pro wireless couple weeks ago and returned them yesterday due to comfort issues with the ANC mic and ear cups and also because they released the nova 7x without the ANC mic and they went back to the older ear cups which I really like
Can you use 2x 2.4ghz "dongles" - 1 in an xbox and 1 in a PC? Also does the 3.5mm jack disable the 2.4? Or can you run both 3.5mm jack and the "dongle?"
Ok. So thx to you i decided to go for these. Any idea how to fix atrociously low volume? You know the thing that many users are unhappy about and you never hear about in reviews. Allready increased gain in Sonar and disabled volume limiter. right now the headphones are kinda usable with all volume sliders everywhere rolled up to max.
I just picked this up today and I'm not quite sure if I like them better than the TB's. The mic has feedback... It's not really a noise canceling mic. I can hear background noise in my ears when not muted.
Yea it's weird even when someone or something is low for some reason the mic picks it up its really weird I'm not sure if other ppl hear it or not I asked my friends they said no so I don't understand why I can hear it
Something I've always had problems with SteelSeries is that their headphones always end up breaking in the same way. The connection from the earcup/speaker to the headband is so weak I've had 4 headsets that have all broken the same way. The first one was my fault, I dropped it, it shattered from both speakers and they were impossible to repair. The other three however, just tore down as time went on... They all broke within the last 2 years... you cannot tell me they only last a couple months before they break! Ive had so much care with the current ones I have and they broke already (this would be my 4th). You can hear a rattling sound if you shake the headset which would be a tiny piece of the part connecting the speaker to the headband; because of that, the speaker isn't locked to a certain range of movement and now because of it moving too much, the cable broke and my right speaker does not work anymore. I have the Arctis 7 wireless right now and Im thinking on buying these newer ones hoping SteelSeries has fixed the issue. Does anybody have any idea if the issue has been resolved?

Does the sound quality of the mic change if you use a 3.5m? Kinda like how the nova 3 mic quality got a little better imo with the 3.5 compared to the usb.

Looking forward to getting these. I got the Xbox brand wireless headset and was stoked about the simultaneous Bluetooth while gaming. But the sound was just so weird to mess with and even after messing with the eq it just wasn’t right. Also the biggest thing, they were so uncomfortable almost unbearable. Crazy tight on the ears especially with my glasses granted I have a big head. So bad I switched back to my old headset mid game session. I hope these don’t disappoint

Just got them recently, I had bit of an issue after firmware update of the dongle and headphones they just froze and were unresponsive, but after pushing "factory reset" button inside that tiny hole it seems to have fixed the issue and they been working great so far. Pretty happy with them!

Ok this review really sold me and I went out and bought a 7x wireless since I have a Xbox series x and PS5. You’re right Techne, there’s definitely body and beauty in the sound reproduction of this headset. I had a arctis 7p previously which was amazing for directional sound but even after eq it lacked body and punch. With the smiley preset for the 7x wireless the body is instantly there and I even did a rather odd comparison. I started watching captain marvel with my audezy penrose x and halfway through switched over to the nova 7x and there is a noticeable vibratory rumble with the 7x that impressed me. Now that being said, I returned the nova 7x this morning because as beautiful as they are, that inspired me to spend the extra money for the nova pro wireless for the Xbox to use on both systems.
Btw, for anyone wondering, the nova 7x has more body and vibrancy than the 7p and Chat works fine on ps5, you just can’t use the chat wheel, you’ll have to use the sound icon in the ps5 home menu.

@@Pringle15 I just got the Nova 7X after the Arctis 9's Bluetooth died on me. It's a really nice headset, especially if you EQ tune it, since sound is the only thing that's not perfect IMO. The feature set on it is lacking nothing. The Nova pro has better sound supposedly, but I doubt it's worth the extra money, unless you just have money to burn. Maybe it is though

Only reason I'd get the nova pros is for the GameDac(and id go wired)but from what I've seen most features aren't available on the series x. Thank you for the input, I might go with the 7x

Pro wireless.. can't beat the exchangeable battery.. I have the pros myself.
Have a look at nova Pro wired, he said it was the best for sound. And they will always make the pro better than the others, you even get to change the eq sound easy without any other software.
If you're on xbox I'd avoid the nova pro wirless they have a terrible mic issue on xbox since launch that hasent been fixed yet. I returned them for this issue also uncomfortable the anc nubs hurt my ears. I ordered the niva 7x should have them by Tuesday.

I’m pretty sure they changed the forks to plastic because metal on plastic before was causing the shell to crack whereas plastic on plastic that won’t happen.
Unfortunately this had happened to my Arctis 9X. I had them for over 2 years (best wireless headset i've had by far) and was distraught when I heard my headset crack while gaming. Luckily these JUST came out and I was about to order the 9X again.

@@Mystix63 I just received my nova 7x headset a couple weeks ago. Honestly prefer it over the 9x just due to the price and better battery life. It also has USB-C instead of micro USB. A few downsides are that the Nova does not have a metal frame like the 9X, it is made of a durable plastic, but it still feels solid. On top of that, while the 9X can connect wirelessly like a controller, you have to connect the dongle that comes with the Nova 7X to connect it to your Xbox. For other platforms however, I'm not sure, but if you're completely fine with using the USB slot on your xbox to connect the dongle, it's honestly a solid deal.

@@Mystix63 honestly Theo if your console or pc you can't go wrong with the 7x, I have the 9pro with dac wired absolutely excellent and the 7+ are the best headphones for ps5 as they have 3D and set them up yourself but the price for the difference I would go for 7x, I also have Astro A50s and turtle beach

I've recently bought the Steelseries Arctis Nova 7X due to it's multi-platform connectivity, the fact that it has a dongle ánd an aux cable for wired use and mostly, because of many experienced people saying it's a good headset. Sadly for me, mine has some issues and I don't know how to fix them (yet). Firstly, when I record a video on my PS5 and watch it back later, (EA FC 24) my voice sounds a bit elektronic during random moments every several sentences despite me lowering the mic volume to 50% or so because of the max mic level being too loud and my voice then making the mic pop. I haven't heard the many, many tech youtubers I watched mention this problem at all. The mic also doesn't sound like a 150 dollar headset level mic but more like a budget headset's mic. I've also used the Steelseries GG app's engine to adjust the settings, including the mic, to make them better based on tech youtubers' tips. The headset also occasionally loses connection with the dongle whether I use the extension cord with it or the dongle on it's own despite the fact that I'm only a couple of meter away from the dongle. My brother has the same headset and we use ours simultanuously on PS5 to make video's for ourselves and he has more of a static hiss when his headset is on while I experience more of a robot voice during every few words used in every few sentences. Does anyone have any useful solutions to maybe help make this headset worth it's cost?
@VinRoo1989 Does the Game/Chat volume wheel also work on PS5? If you buy the 7P that wheel is for the volume of your own voice. On the 7X this is a Game/chat controle. How does that work on PS5 ?

I own the previous Arctis 7's, and Arctis 9's, and to be honest, I always felt that the pads on all the Arctis line were too shallow for me. @@clawson32104 for the Arctis Nova Pro's sure but not the wireless, I can't find any ear cup replacements for the Arctis Pro Nova Wireless yet and that's due to the unique design it has to support the headsets ANC.

I've had 3 different headsets recently. An Astro A50 that I bought for (and loved) the charging dock, a Logitech g935 I got to replace the A50 once it's occasionally problematic firmware bricked itself, and now a Nova 7x. I'm not an audiophile, I'm fine with all 3 on sound. The g395 kept crapping out in various ways such as unresponsive mic but bot better once I uninstalled the hub software. But the signal range of the g935 was less than my A50 (despite having a larger advertised range than the A50) which lost me the ability to go upstairs to my kitchen during a work meetings. The range on the Nova 7x seems to be a little better than my a50. I'll miss the dock for convenient charging, but so far I'm quite happy with my nova 7x.
How does sound compare. Ive heard the Nova line sounds better than most of the competition from many different people.
@@dravenripley9468 To be honest, sound quality isn't as big of a deal for me, so I'm probably not a great resource. All I can say is that I don't recall being either impressed or disappointed with any of them.
What do you think of comfort? I have the Astro A50 gen 3’s atm and can’t get over the comfort ness, I can wear them all day without my ears getting hot (although sometimes they’ll feel a bit heavy on my head). But right now the volume wheel on them has messed up, it only turns it down so I’m struggling with volume. Looking to get something else but just as comfy and hopefully slightly better/lighter

Was looking at upgrading from the Arctis 7P+ I have to the new Novas, although I've seen little-to-none on the difference between Nova 7 Wireless, Nova 7X and the Nova 7P. I'm assuming it's just branding differences, considering they're the exact same specs on the site (Also that 7P isn't able to be used on Xbox, but 7X CAN be used on PS)
Also, speaking of features;
Party Volume, does the 7P version allow that for PS, or only on the 7X's for PC and Xbox? If it's available on PS I'd probably choose the 7P just considering I'm more often than not on PlayStation, that's what all my mates play on.
Does the 7X support Spatial Audio like the Arctis 7P+ do?

It looks like it is mostly branding, however the chat dial is different between them. According to the website, the 7 and 7P are identical except the 7P does not have chat dial, but instead has a sidetone dial and has a blue headband. The 7 and 7X are identical except the 7X supports Xbox and has green headband.
Buy Astros. Trust me. I judt got these and I'm unbelievably unimpressed just because the dialog sound is just horrible. I'm going to try to play with the eq's but to be honest I regret the purchase. If I still only played fps online games, I'd be satisfied but since I mostly only play story games now I don't like. But get the x ones. The chat this he talks about is not a chat mixer, it just turns down the microphone feedback (hearing your own voice when you talk but I'm coming from Astoro A50s as main so I'm completely used to that) you can still turn a different knob that adjusts chat to game and it works across all devices.

Blue tooth capability and more battery life does seem as added bonus a $30 price difference for that upgrade. As for the H7 I’ve seen that they are on sale. So I’ll probably give it more thought throughout the day and will let you know what I decide if it helps sway your decision as well.

I'm glad to see new wireless Series X headsets coming out with a proper dongle, instead of direct pairing.
I have the TB Stealth 700 gen 2, and the Razer Kaira Pro. They both direct pair to my XBox, but they are constantly losing connection and therefore sound, Its very irritating.
I tried the arctis 9 and had the same issues returned it 2 days later and got the 7x+ and yeah dongle all day. works far better

Buck I have the TB gen 2 for ps5 and they never lose connection, I have heard quite a few complaints about the Xbox gen2, the usb for ps5 is tiny aswell, I recommend Steele series 7+ or 7x for your Xbox they are really good rated best headphones for ps5 with 3D different settings but Astro A50s for FPS
@@darrenjk5438 a dongle is constant connection for TB 700 gen 2 I have a pair and I have heard a lot of compliments about Xbox gamers losing connection quite a lot being Bluetooth, I have 9pro wired with dac, 7+ for the 3D on ps5 and Astro A50s for FPS with 9pro are amazing for CoD/modern warfare with optical output that cant be beat, a lot better than dongle or usb

Just got the Nova 7X and they're really comfortable. Plus they work on every platform which is great.
Cloud flight/alpha wireless is super comfortable, avoid logitech headsets they are super uncomfy., these are pretty good too. The kraken v3 pro is pretty comfy too.

@@kaidholakia6609 I currently bought both the arctis 7x+ and nova 7x… I really like both, my only problem with the 7x+ is that the ear cups cannot slide up and down cause they sit kind of high on my ears. Personally though I think no matter what, i am probably spending the extra $30 on deeper ear cups for both styles. I was hoping to keep the arctis 7x+ bc the headband was quite comfortable and i was saving $40… im still unsure, but I think im keeping the novas because i can adjust ear cup height.

@@gabrielrodriguez348 Alphas? It depends, they have great battery life, very wide, warm and detailed sound. But there is no buletooth, there are no media controls (cannot play/pause music), the dongle looks a bit cheap. There are buttons for mute, power and volume rocker. Also they create better seal than Nova 7, but the material quality is not as nice as Steelseries AN7 or Corsair HS80.
Realistically, how much of an improvement would these be over the Arctis 1 Wireless? I know for a fact they'll be more durable and sturdy with a stronger base / materials, but in terms of sound? I want to know if it's worth dropping £160 on these as I think, sadly, my Arctis 1 headset is giving up.

I have both the Nova 7x and 7p for my Series X and PS5. Sound out of the box is neutral and much better than the terrible Xbox official headset. Even EQ couldn't make Xbox headset sound good so I returned it for these Nova's. I EQ'd these very slightly to make the soundstage open up even more. Games and Music sound very nice. Some may want more bass though.

@@joshuathefirst the 7x are perfect for me. Lighter than the Nova Pro and no ANC bump in the earcups. The Sportsweave pads feel the same as the older Arctis models but maybe just a tad firmer which I wanted. I know with my Arctis 9x that the pads were too soft out of the box and my ears touched the driver's. Zero issues with the 7x. So far it seems perfect for my needs.

I've seen a review done by a Chinese uploader saying despite its amazing comfort and good audio for movies and musics, the Razor Blackshark V2 Pro performs poorly in compeitive gaming cause the footsteps and gunshot direction gets all muddled. What's your experience on that?
@@billchenbt i do play alot of Warzone my self. Let me say it in another way. The Blackshark V2 Pro, is a loud headset. You can turn down the volume. Its better it loud, instead of a weak headset. I got the Epos h6pro closee with the dac, and even though it has great sound, the sound was to weak. I returned the headset. Back to the razer, i got good directional sound with it. No problem at all. Vertical sound was also clear for me.
I just like trying out different headset, thats why i changed to TB stelth gen 2 max.
Razer is a 9/10 headset. You wont be disapointed. Best luck 👍

By default they do not get as loud. You have to use the Steel Engine on your computer and turn the volume limiter off. It's on by default and turning it off makes them much louder.

I didn't know these were coming out, I tried the wireless Pro headset, but found them uncomfortable and the headset would interfere with my other Steelseries headsets. Currently rocking the Artic 7x+ but going to give this a shot
The 7x are just the 7+ but newer model I have the 9pro wired with dac for FPS and astro A50s but for RPG or 3D duel sense the 7+ are rated best PlayStation headset
Which headphones are better, the Steelseries arctis nova 7x wireless or the steelseries arctis nova pro wireless?
This is from a person who has experienced almost every gaming and music headset, these nova 7x are the ultimate addition to gaming and music audio headsets! Period. They are perfect! Rich and deep bass and high treble and mids! I highly recommend the nova 7x over any other gaming headset on the planet! But, also any music headset on the planet also! When you adjust that EQ setting just right, "🤯💥 boom" ,it blows my mind away. Steele series has done a fantastic job with these headset because not only due they sound superb on gaming but also sounds ultimate on music! I wouldn't have it any other way! Also did I mention that they are, and I quote: " stinkin cozy asf!" Excilante.

Don't get the pro wireless and don't get the pro wired just get the nova 7x's and I promise you that will be the last headset you'll ever purchase! The Nova 7x's is the ultimate headset for gaming and music. I stand behind this too! You will not be disappointed. Also go into the Steele series GG engine and adjust your EQ settings to your liking and enjoy forever!
@@captainkayto6877 also these nova 7 and 7x's have a deep enjoyable bass, high treble and mids! If you are tired of purchasing headset for gaming and music that just doesn't give you what you're looking exactly for then by all means the nova 7 and 7x's will get the job done! They are loud asf! But like I said you can adjust them to your liking that's what so special about them! Now if, if, you want noise cancelling then you would purchase the nova pro wireless but make sure they're for Xbox so you can use them on a lot of platforms like the 7x's.

@@captainkayto6877 it's no disadvantage! Trust me. I've also convinced the guy that works for best buy also and he tried them out. The next time I saw him he gave me a hug and thanked me! He said," I'll never have to purchase another headset for gaming and music ever again thanks to you. I've been in the position to test ever gaming headset and music audio headsets and nothing on the market compairs to nova 7 or the 7x's. Also the only other gaming headset that's good for gaming and music is the level 40 PDP! Even though they're wired you'll be surprised the Punch they pack! Bass and treble plus mid is on point. The only downside is that the level 40 PDP isn't stinking cozy! But if you're on a budget they won't disappoint either!
How do these compare with the 9x? In other words, should I ditch my 9x for these?

Do you prefer the nova pro wireless or nova 7x wireless?
Personally, I still prefer the stealth 600 gen 2 max. Way easier functionality, better bass and highs, and the mic design is better and sounds way better. Turtle beach also has better battery life. For some reason steel series headsets sound too flat for my liking. I like to have the bass and treble boost that turtle beach offers to make me feel fully submerged in the game I’m playing.
Bought the gen 2 700 a year and a half ago and the broke at the screws on the left ear piece. Had the 600 before didn’t like them at all. Picked up the nova 7 on Friday and I love them! The gen 2 700 was nice but for the price they’re built way to cheap. Before the cracks it would always squeak and crack when I would move them around. Didn’t like how cheap they were built. Let’s see if these novas hold up. Definitely won’t be going back to turtle beach lol

That dongle is not durable it broke so easily all i did was unplug it and the usbc became more loose and it keeps disconnecting.

I bought the Arctis 7x but returned them because the mids were utter garbage. How do the Nova 7's sound now? Gadgetry Tech shows that the upper mids dip quite a bit but how do they compare to the Arctis 7x? Hopefully they fixed that because they sounded terrible.

I didn't see or hear if you noticed the low volume by default. I know using Steel Engine that it has a volume limiter option which by default is set to on. I turned it off and the headset is noticably louder now.
Would you recommend Arctis 9x for 150 USD on a good deal or the these headsets for 180 USD?
9x is good but I hate micro usb. The 7x have usb c, longer battery life and fast charging
9x is only good for xbox and pc(dongle)
7x is a multi platform if you have xbox, ps5 or switch

@@nigellau14 the 9x has a lot of reported issues with it's connection to the Xbox, I assume the dongle with this headset will hopefully fix that

I do own a 9x and I can confirm the connectivity issues with my xbox and also noticed the range got shortened in overtime use. I ordered the nova pro wireless couple weeks ago and returned them yesterday due to comfort issues with the ANC mic and ear cups and also because they released the nova 7x without the ANC mic and they went back to the older ear cups which I really like

Can you use 2x 2.4ghz "dongles" - 1 in an xbox and 1 in a PC? Also does the 3.5mm jack disable the 2.4? Or can you run both 3.5mm jack and the "dongle?"
Ok. So thx to you i decided to go for these. Any idea how to fix atrociously low volume? You know the thing that many users are unhappy about and you never hear about in reviews. Allready increased gain in Sonar and disabled volume limiter. right now the headphones are kinda usable with all volume sliders everywhere rolled up to max.
So what was your EQ settings?
I just picked this up today and I'm not quite sure if I like them better than the TB's. The mic has feedback... It's not really a noise canceling mic. I can hear background noise in my ears when not muted.
Yea it's weird even when someone or something is low for some reason the mic picks it up its really weird I'm not sure if other ppl hear it or not I asked my friends they said no so I don't understand why I can hear it

Something I've always had problems with SteelSeries is that their headphones always end up breaking in the same way. The connection from the earcup/speaker to the headband is so weak I've had 4 headsets that have all broken the same way. The first one was my fault, I dropped it, it shattered from both speakers and they were impossible to repair. The other three however, just tore down as time went on... They all broke within the last 2 years... you cannot tell me they only last a couple months before they break!
Ive had so much care with the current ones I have and they broke already (this would be my 4th). You can hear a rattling sound if you shake the headset which would be a tiny piece of the part connecting the speaker to the headband; because of that, the speaker isn't locked to a certain range of movement and now because of it moving too much, the cable broke and my right speaker does not work anymore. I have the Arctis 7 wireless right now and Im thinking on buying these newer ones hoping SteelSeries has fixed the issue. Does anybody have any idea if the issue has been resolved?

Does the sound quality of the mic change if you use a 3.5m? Kinda like how the nova 3 mic quality got a little better imo with the 3.5 compared to the usb.

Looking forward to getting these. I got the Xbox brand wireless headset and was stoked about the simultaneous Bluetooth while gaming. But the sound was just so weird to mess with and even after messing with the eq it just wasn’t right. Also the biggest thing, they were so uncomfortable almost unbearable. Crazy tight on the ears especially with my glasses granted I have a big head. So bad I switched back to my old headset mid game session. I hope these don’t disappoint
