What attracted YOU to the creative fields?
I've been having doubts about my abilities to accomplish being a graphic designer. After my first month at FullSail university I felt out dated. I starting my journey at 45, after freeing myself from a controlling marriage of 20 years, I descovered i could draw,, like really good for self taught,, i can also build, create, and paint i love all of it but I feel out of my elements, I am a very simple person, im not into watching TV or keeping up with sports , actors, artist, I just do what I feel, I don't get into the mix of things, I don't care who is dating who and all that drama. Now I feel maybe I set myself up for failure. I was almost going to drop the course. But I know I am intelligent enough and have the ability to learn anything. I have basically learned everything i know from watching tutorials, I even started learning to tattoo . So now after watching this I will hold on and keep trying, put myself out there to explore, and conquer my fears!
only design jobs in my town are printing shops but most give me a no not a real designer or I want you to design plus go to the back and print and do delivery and install the signs for less than retail job.
Keep building that portfolio, even if it means working for less money for a year or two. Be known in your town as being really good at doing one thing, then consider going freelance. You don’t even need a great website, just a place where you can share your best work with prospects.
@@smalltowncreative I wish I can share my portfolio here but, I know UA-cam will delete it
Getting into graphic design allows self expression in a near judgmental free zone. I can’t draw all that good because of ASD but would love to be proven wrong. Having anxiety does not help either. However, my thought is that by tracing over and over again might allow the negative thinking to be a thing of the past. Just need to find a coach that can guide me through the process.
So how did you go
Hope u see this msg
@@ItsJustCarnage I have decided not to get into graphic design right now.
@@asphaltandtacos what are you doing now if you dont mind me asking?
How many wigs do you own?
Haha. There must be 4 or 5 of em in the wardrobe!
I'm god awful at drawing though and well... yeah. lol
This is why I could use someone to be the *illustrator*.
