Thank you so much for this video it was a real eye-opener as I am interested in Graphic Designs and have decided to go to community college to get a degree in it. I also am subscribing to many UA-camrs such as yourself to teach myself skills while I'm waiting to go to school and even during and after school. Even though I am a very creative person I feel like I don't have an eye for putting things together (the aesthetic of things). I am the type of person that needs the ABC'S and exact steps for doing things and I know that in life you don't always have an instruction manual. I, for example, did the 30-day logo challenge for practice and thought of really unique ideas and when I looked up other people on Behance and Dribble I didn't see anyone that thought of the same ideas I did. So I know I can be good at problem-solving but when for example I looked up Graphic Design prompts and it said to make an about page for a skateboarding website I'm struggling with the overlook of it and how to make it look pretty I know what I want but I don't know how to make my ideas come to life.
Hmm, I really appreciate the transparency. I struggled with the correlation between what I wanted to create and then my finished product, WAIT, I still struggle with that! 😜 Lol!
But seriously, this is something that takes time to develop. My recommendation would be to observe lots of design. Become a student historical design as well as new designers and what is current.
I will make a video soon to give you some guidance on this. But it is TIME TIME TIME.
My entire time in grad school my professor hounded me about developing a better awareness and critique of my typography layout. I am still working to get better at this, but it has become much better since grad school.

I have started editing posters of tv shows for about 3 years and I have fallen in love with Photoshop. I am deeply interested in the world of graphic design. The only thing I am insecure about is the fact that I can't draw well. Is drawing an important factor to enter the world of graphic design? I would like to start with the education next year but I'm not sure if I'll succeed in it.

Hey was wondering what kind of classes should and or can I take, and or is it worth me taking for a future career I want to pursue.. for example I want to join a video game industry, I don’t have any background in sketching or drawing but I am into Anime, and Video games.. willl graphic design help me in any way to work in a gaming industry if so how what can I do as a graphic designer..
Graphic design would help you in the areas of typography and composition, but you would definitely need some in-depth training in the programming aspects of Video Game Design.
