Substance of the poem:The poetry of earth never ends.In the hot summer noon all the birds take rest and stop singing.Then the Grasshopper takes over the charge.It jumps from hedge to hedge about the new-mown meadow.It produces the chirping sound and carries on the music of earth.The Grasshopper enjoys the summer luxury and takes shelter under some wild plant.
In the lone winter evening everyone on earth keeps indoors.An atmosphere of silence prevails all around.Even then the poetry of earth continues without break.A cricket sings.The Frost drives the cricket inside.It seeks the warmth of the stove.From the stove its shrill song comes.With increasing warmth,it sings louder and louder.The grasshopper and the cricket continue their symphony.
