Well since you asked, I've had the privilege of owning 7 Golden Retrievers both Long Hair and Field Goldens and currently have 3 Field Goldens. Their personalities are similar except the Field Goldens are more obsessed with swimming and retrieving (especially waterfowl). Due to their above average intelligence, they are easily trained at any age. Sit, Stay, Fetch and Drop are the first obedience habits I typically train. All of these are learned within a few days. Drop is crucial whether from retrieving waterfowl or a precautionary habit ( like from eating 1/2 a sub sandwich). Just use some healthy kibble or a piece of dog biscuit as a reward while training . Fetch and Drop will be learned very quick. Give it try and good luck there Kelly . . . . . . .
Hi Kelly 👋 I always ❤ when Finley is in the background watching and keeping an eye on you, such a good boy, especially when he steals things and wants you to chase him to get it back! 😆 tc 🌷❤️
Agreed. I am and have always been all about fishing and hunting. As I progressed on the fishing front and became a Captain, I had to for the most part, let the Hunting go as, Pelagic's aren't a cheap sport. That will all change now that I am back Home in Texas, divorced and 200+ miles from the beach. (on purpose) I enjoy watching this One and a handful of others regardless of what They are doing. I have not been able to go back and watch the stuff prior to My start a couple of years ago but will. Enjoyed every single thing I have watched to date.
TIP for applying silicone...when you lay the bead down spray it with Windex glass cleaner and you can use your finger to even it out without having it stick to your fingers...makes for a neat job with no mess...from Texas
Look at the neck and rump feathers, in a cockerel (rooster) they end in a sharp point. At the size it is now a cockerel should be crowing and dancing (a hopping movement with one wing hanging low), also it wouldn't be worried about your original hens, it would be courting them. You could play a clip of a crowing cockerel, another cockerel would be compelled to reply.
I was using bay scallops to feed all my saltwater fish during the winter till the supermarket was out. I bought some tilapia to use instead and it killed everything in the tank. 150 gallon tank was fun while it lasted.
I noticed the vines growing on the fence and chicken coop and I think it looks great. Have you considered growing Birdhouse gourds for the same purpose? Birdhouse gourds are cool , fun to grow and can be used to make birdhouses or other crafty projects , and after they dry out you can harvest the seeds from inside to grow more next year . They are low maintenace , just water them occassionally .
P.s. I had a chow /retriever mix and taught her lots of tricks . " DROP IT ! " is an important one for many reasons . My Ginger grabbed a kitten once while I was visiting my sister . As she was running off with it my sister yelled at me " She's got one of the kittens ". I Yelled ' DROP IT" and Ginger let it go and kept running like she knew she was in trouble , but actually she got praise later for listening to my command .
The tank is only big enough for a baby Lionfish, and will soon out grow it, realistically you're look for a 4ft x 2ft x 2ft to keep one or two at most standard Lionfish long term. Look at buying a Dwarf lionfish the genus Dendrochirus, also know as Short-finned Turkeyfish, Shortspine rockcod or Shortspine scorpionfish, most in the genus get no more than 6-inches, more suitable for that tank. The standed lionfish of the genus Pterois, that's in Florida can max at around 18-inches give or take.
Good luck with your Lion Fish experiment! I know you will get it done....as you always do! Hope you find a good specimen. The white one MAY BE a rooster...you stated it hadn't crowed...yet. if you see it mounting the other 3....then could be! Thanks for the video. Sorry the Atlantic was in turmoil! 👍😎🤙😄
Calcium helps with egg production. You can get crushed oyster shell and gravel at the feed store, also lizards work really good. I had a buft Orrington that I fed a bunch of lizards and she laid a 2 1/2 yoaker egg. Looked like a goose egg .
nice video Kelly, glad to see you repaired the fish tank instead of just throwing it away like 90% of anyone else would have done. Very impressive shooting there ... your "Form" is great
Hi Kelly I don’t know what to say about you and animals first it was Finly now it’s hehay you have a magic hand to save life Goddess you Dear. Take care Godbless
"Kelly! The chicken whisper!" Cool! Glad you where able to help her. Hopefully she recovers but looks like really improved. She might not ever get normal because of possible lack of blood flow to brain might of damages something. Fingers crossed though! Im sorry that white chicken is a rooster. lol Thanks for the video! TY
That poor chicken Hey-Hay... probably sprained her neck. Glad she's getting better. I raised English Mallards when I was a kid. Pepé Le Pew was the drakes name. Mamacita was the hens name. They made beautiful ducklings together. 😊
I rewound the video a couple of times, with that comb and what looks like the starting of some long tail feathers, I think you are right, it's a rooster. 😅🤭
In case you didn't know, wet your finger with a bit of water before you use it to smooth the silicon sealer. (probably a bit late now) but it will prevent it from sticking to you and help make it a smoother finish.
Well, my rooster crowed. Some hens grow bigger crowns, when they lay eggs, they make their noise announcing that they’ve done the deed.😊 glad hehay is ok
You will need at least a 60 gallon tank for a LionFish. Be sure you have room for enough bios to process the waste from the food they eat, The tank you are setting up is very small.
Kelly nice relaxing video. Glad your chicken seems ok. Findley looked adorable and happy as always. Your an excellent caring dog mom, Findley is lucky to have you,
This suggestion may not be your thing, which is fine, but if possible I would love to see some canal fishing videos. Florida seems to have quite a few weird, interesting fish in their canals - Oscars, peacock bass, etc.
You should consider getting a rechargeable screwdriver, I bought the Amazon Basics one for $25 as I had 4 floor fans that needed their from and back grills taken off, six screws per panel x eight! So much faster.
We had a Golden that really showed no signs of being a hunting dog.. Infact if you would play catch she would return the ball 3 times then just look at it.. When she was 10 years old I had her in a field with a chocolate lab and a mix of lab and spaniel.. Those dogs were running all over the place and she stayed on the trail with me.. All of a sudden she started hopping back and forth on the trail and I am like what are you doing and all of a sudden she kicked up a pheasant.. I am like.. You have been holding out on me all this time;)
Hi Kelly, so glad your chicken is doing better, Finely is so funny and I absolutely love him. Another great video and I can't wait too see the Angel Fish in your new tank. All my love and be safe, Scott Graham from Hampton Beach New Hampshire
Just listened to my start of the day song ( King's X - Life Going By ) it energizes me and gives me calm at the same time . Are you watching the career of Caitlin Clark pro female basketball star ? The woman has so much integrity and determination she kind of reminds me of you . I really draw from people like you two because you are so positive and determined . Getting to see Finly is always a treat for me since I cant have a dog right now ...I miss my Great Danes SO MUCH and have always had German Shepherds before I got the Great Danes . I hope everyone is doing well and lets say a prayer to make the hurricanes go away or diminish . Happy Trails Kelly ... PK

Hey Kelly. We had chickens when my kids were young. Regarding the white chicken-I've never seen a self respecting rooster that got pushed around by a hen. They will show their dominance right away. Also, never keep a rooster inside the hen house. Too stressful on the hens.
Not really, a cockerel is the protector and guider to food, his hens became his life, one cockerel to three plus hens, will allow him to speed the love, so it not always direct at one hen all the time. The hen house is light out and sleep time, chickens aren't active in the dark. What is stressful to hens is lights in the hen house left on for excessive hours, not allowing them time to rest.

You poor thing :( you get some strange comments on here Read quite a few, didn't see any for sure answer on the Rooster or Hen thing except the "if it crows it's a Rooster if not ......... " Keep up the good work !!
Well that does sum things up if it crows it's a rooster. Pretty simple.😃 It definitely looks like one except for the fact I don't see any spurs. But if it's crowing at sunrise that's all a person needs to know. Hens don't get those mullet feathers that go straight down the neck I don't think.
Yeah the chicken will probably be ok, if not then I can tell u by experience that fresh home raised chickens taste better than anything u can get from the store! 😂just saying! ❤
She worked in a pet store so would would think she knew. Anyway food was floating on the top of the tank so she pushed it down with her finger. You kind of do this automatically with other fish. Not a good idea with a Lion fish. So don't do that.

Finley’s absolutely adorable! I love golden retrievers.
You can use a plastic spoon to spread out the caulking, saves clean up on the fingers!

Hi Kelly!
Name the other chicken "Wingly"..............for obvious reasons. It will also confuse Finly. hahaha...
Good luck on the pig hunt!
Kelly, I'm going to get a Golden in December my first one always had Dalmatians.❤
Great Idea! Years ago, Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream used to do Sorbets, and one of their flavors was Passion Fruit, best ever Flavor!!
I truly loved this video, Kelly, but I have to tell you, I really wanted to reach in through my TV and do that silicone job for you!😅
Dang it, now I want coffee.
Awesome video, keep up the great work!!

love goldens, great dogs
Finley is so cute 😊❤❤
Chickens like pheasants get really confused when they are turned upside down, perhaps this was what was wrong with the chicken that got its head stuck
Good job on the tank
IF IT DONT CROW ITS NOT A ROOSTER !!!

It looks like a week long fishing license in the Stockholm area is 200 krona or $40 , lots of different fishing areas to choose from.
That is definitely a rooster lol

Great job girl 💪
Has two one after another. Best breed and yes I know what your talk your taking about but you love Finley
So much plant growth over the coup! Kinda cool, right Kel?
Okay.
You answer my question
Yes, I have a golden retriever and a golden doddle. I have my hands full. lol
I think i saw some nubs on the inside of its legs, which might turn into spurs and its a lot taller . Good chance its a rooster 🐓
Yea… I think so
