- Hello, all! I've been fairly quiet preparing for a new Mega Man project and hope you enjoy the first lyrics cover as a holiday gift. I'm looking forward to the rest of the mm4 soundtrack and hope you're as excited as I am.

These lyric renditions of yours are really great. Don’t get me wrong, I hold a great deal of respect for you and acknowledge the time and effort you put in to writing these out on such a deep and thoughtful level. But the only thing I have some confusion with in this one is the line “I guess you humans are all the same” coming from Mega Man/Rock. He has proven, shown, and i think even stated in many situations that he doesn’t see things that way, and that there are plenty of good humans. If that were the case, he would not be fighting for anyone but the robots side, including taking the side of the renegade robot masters, right? One could certainly make the same argument that Wily made in MM7 about how a robot could not harm a human. But in almost every game in the classic series, wily has shown that it is entirely possible to bypass that internal logic check or primary program to enable such an egregious offense. And if Mega really did see that humans weren’t worth protecting over his own brethren, he could probably find someone to override the program responsible for preventing him from harming people. (To add to the MM7 counter argument, the localization team responsible for translating the game took many liberties in the ending scene, and in the original, he doesn’t nearly kill wily, but stops and hesitates). So in short, i absolutely love these videos, but I don’t exactly see why that line is mixed in. As an author, I just can’t help but take time to analyze this sort of media.
I’m actually really glad you brought that up! By this point, Rock has fought Wily three times and he’s presumed to be dead. But now, just when there’s supposed to be everlasting peace, another roboticist seemingly comes and destroys it. He’s disillusioned with a never ending cycle that was supposed to end with Wily. Unfortunately, there will always be another battle, another injustice, another power-mad human who must be stopped. That’s why the line is in there.
@@KazeRyve Good analysis. Wily's plots in 4, 5 and 6 seem to be more aimed at psychological warfare on Mega, and this one suggests the disturbing idea that ANYONE with expert robotics skills can use robot masters for their personal vendettas.
@@WhiteFangofWar That includes 7 too. As Mega Man 7 has Wily using his knowledge that Mega Man cannot harm a human to force mega man to contemplate long enough to distract him.
Honestly I wish we could have had more story in these games.
@@linhero797 And in 9 he makes Mega question how good of a man his creator really is, or if he would turn against society after they passed a ridiculous law on robot expiration dates. I don't think there's a big need for more story though; too much of it gets in the way of the gameplay as seen in some of the X and Zero games.
@@WhiteFangofWar Actually, Robot Experation Dates were already a law put in place presumably after rhe events of the First Mega Man game. Mega Man 9 is just the first game to bring attention to them.
But yeah, I do see your point.
I do think at least a bit more focus should be put on the story, but in a Mega Man 11 sort of deal, not Mega Man X and certainly not Zero level of focus though.
