Thank you so much for showing me how to cook jolof rice perfectly. I am Zimbabwean and have loved jolof for 18yrs but never thought I could ever cook. My first attempt before giving up was 2011. My son was 2yrs at the time. After cooking dinner, I called him to come and eat. When he got to the table and looked at it, he said, "Mom,it doesn't look righr", and wouldn't eat it. I knew ge qA right because I had tasted it as well and it didn't taste anything like what we had eaten at our Nigerian friends. But guess what? I did it all thanks to you. My Nigerian friends say its so good and can't believe I cooked it all by myself . I cooked 18 cups like you did and now my freezer is packed full and I don't see myself cooking again until end of January as its only my 11 year old son and myself. I am so proud of myself. You are a great teacher. Thank you
Yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy we did it sissy, we hit 1M view, nobody deserves it more than you mama, you have a pure heart and God will continue to bless you my Twin. I love you soooooo much😘✌🏽❤️

I haven't cooked jollof rice in years because i wasn't confident with it so we usually ordered from a caterer. I watched this recipe yesterday and tried it today.. OMG!!!!!!. Son: wow jollof rice, who cooked it? Mum: I did (with pride 😁) Even my husband did a double take when he looked on the cooker 🤣😅. Son: This is very nice, it tastes like you ordered it. Mum *smiles* Thank you very much for this recipe. I will be coming here often for more 💖🎈😘

British Pakistani here. It’s amazing how similar our cultures cook rice. I’ve made and tried jollof - it’s amazing! I may add a little south Asian twist the next time I make it by adding more chilli😅. It’s amazing. Gonna make it again soon!!
I'm Ghanaian and I will be using some your tips like using the red bell pepper, shallots, the heavy hand of thyme, clove powder and the onion, tomatoes & butter at the end!!! Look delicious 😋😍👌
Thank you so much for this recipe! I've made it more than a few times for my family, and they love it! My dad's nigerian and he always eats a lot and praises it. I really appreciate this because it puts smiles on my family's faces and helps me connect with my nigerian roots :)

Yea so true but Ghanaians use perfume rice. That rice alone is yummy. I am Nigerian married to ghanian and i cook both rice same way. Honestly Ghana jollof with the help of the rice takes the crown
The difference between ghanaian jollof rice and Nigeria jollof rice is, Nigerians use to add butter to their jollof and is also Nigeria they have party jollof and original jollof anyway
I am not Nigerian but I love Jollof 🫣. Every time I want to make Jollof rice I come back here🥲🙏🏾 This time am back, I want to make it for my family this Christmas 🥰 thanks your video helps ❤️🇮🇪
I like the way you generously added season cubes. I sometimes watch some cooking videos where the person cooking will add just one cube and I am sure they will add more with the camera away because I know for the quantity of food they are cooking one cube will not be enough but they dont want to add more cos of what people will say. Thank you for being real.

There's nothing wrong frying the tomato puree before adding the chopped shallots, it gives the puree more test that way so both ways work very well for me. Lovely video very well done and your voice was loud enough to hear what you are saying.👌
Just learned something new today washing rice with salt, is there a reason for that? And I also realized that lots of Nigerians cook with red bell peppers any special reasons? thanks
Love this, I tried this with brown rice and less oil. It was still delicious. Brown rice has a different taste to everything but the flavours were fabulous.
I’m telling you... I like how she says “I made a big mistake guys.” She made the video like it’s just one of those days when you do your cooking void of cameras.
Thank You so much. I followed your instructions to the T, and my jollof finally came out perfect. I have tried 5 other methods and it didnt work, yours was the best. New subbie.
I feel soooo happy to have finally seen someone cooking just like my beloved mum used to. "God bless her soul" congrats to you Cynthia. You are the best I have seen from Africa. I promised to watch and follow you when & wherever your cooking goes. Baba (Senegal)🇸🇳 🇸🇳
Oh my goodness someone who cuts a bell pepper the way that I do! I can't stand wasting the cuttings of vegetables when they are perfectly edible. So glad you do this!
🥰🥰🥰🥰I can't express how happy and how much I love this video right now, I like when you showed the cup you use and not just saying 18 cups, and also all other ingredients. I love the detailed explanation. " I use two bell peppers for every 4 cups"😍 I love this. I have been looking for a video like this
My Nigerian friend loved it! He rated it a 10/10... Could not believe it was my first time making jollof rice and that I learned from looking it up on your YT channel! Thank you soo much?! Honestly the recipe is really similar to black american southern style red rice, except jollof has much more flavor and spices! Thank youu again!
I love your sincerity when you make a mistake you admit to it I love that, I have party coming next week so will follow all the step you took in this video
Sis. This is one of the best jollof vids. No one mentions that you have to fry till it is not tangy, no mention of reducing the stew till it thickens. This makes the difference between good jollof and just jollof. Thank you so much for sharing. Awesome vid.
YaGirl Malasia Have you visted all parts of Haiti to make that assumption? I can answer for you no. There are different ways to cook. You can go to Gonaives,Okap,Port au Prince, Port salut, delmas, Les cayes, Jacmel and various of other locations and you can see they cook different but the concept is there. My mom makes her legume very different
My mom traveled to Nigeria for 2 weeks. She's coming today, and she asked me to make a dish for her returning. I didn't know what to make then I thought of jollof rice, but I didn't know how to make it. Then I watched your video. This was so helpful!
Gosh!!!! This jollof rice is perfect!!!! 😍😍😍 When she said "so now let's taste it" and was picking the rice off the spatula, I was blowing air on my phone to cool it off 🤣🤣🤣
Quarantine brought me here i need to improve my game in the kitchen because hubby must be pampered. And am glad i met this video and u liked it... maam you did well and i love ur sincerity and thanks for offering you fried goat meat
The color of this jollof rice is popping 😋😋😋❤❤ my dear sis you Absolutely nailed it. This is authentic Nigerian jollof rice. Beautiful thumbnail as well ❤❤❤❤💗👍👍👍
Honestly this is one of the best jollof rice videos I have watched on UA-cam. I love how it came out. Sometimes my only challenge is that the name of those recipes are not easy to get at all not even in the Market because when you call a name, the market women will get looking at you because they have never heard such n they don't have it. God bless you for sharing with us
This method is fire! As in! I just learnt how to cook party jollof rice. Christmas and new year jollof rice coming soon! We are leaving this 2020 with this yummy recipe. Thanks so much
Tbh this is the first Nigerian jollof recipe I have seen that can compete with gh jollof amidst the excess spices(msg) and rice looking a little firm. Impressed mum 🙏

Thank you for this video sister!! My 40 something years on earth, I've not used Shallots before but the day I watched this video was when I went to the store to buy it. Since then, have not regretted it. I use shallot for fried sauce, fried rice, jollof rice, etc
I dont comment on food tutorial on UA-cam channel , but you gat my attention , I love the fact you realize your mistake so easy and still say it , some will cut it out . YOURE LOVELY
It’s crazy how my grandma made “Red Rice” tomato based but sugar is added for taste. It’s similar to jollof rice. We (African American and African) have similar ways of cooking. Our history runs so deep.
Wow, this lady has taken our jollof rice to a new level. Thanks for selling our food to the international community, more grease to your elbow, God bless.
Omg its the first and only video ive seen with this recipe that is so much on point with the ingredients. I am from Jamaica but i dont think I'm Jamaican when i think abt the love i have for Jollof Rice. So mouthwatering ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ i have to try this
I just happen to be looking into this cuisine from a Snapchat video, and THIS WAS AMAZING. I’ve been cooking for my family for years but my specialty is Mexican cuisine, Tex mex, carb conscious, and soul food. But THIS HAS SO MUCH LOVE put into it and now I have added some of these techniques to my already extensive arsenal of cooking specialties 😍 thank you so much !!!
I love How natural you are...lol scooping the tomatoe paste with your fingers, picling some chopped peppers from the table into the blender, picKing a Lil piece of meat straigHt to your mouth. I can't wait to make jollof rice. Chai so mouth watering..... courage

Color check, the taste of that rice I knew it was more than check. The jollof rice is so mouthwatering. I was eating the fried goat meat from the screen. Ngozi I’m playing that music, fix your guest room for me, anam abia” These days I’ve been forgetting to fry onions before pouring the tomatoes inside 😅😅. Finishing it with butter was a bomb.com.
Hmm, first 1. Production not scripted 2. Not Everyone coming for the interview party likes onion and tomatoes on the face of there food 3. No Explanation on why you chose that frame and type of pot and why you used that foil to cover the food production 4. In my small experience of serving over 1500 people food in over one month everyday and study as a film Maker I most say that this is the best food video I have seen in the world. Because of the I have subscribed and I will share, I can't wait to see your next production. Thank you very much You are truly the best

1• Can you make a smaller version?
Answer •• YES 👉🏽ua-cam.com/video/SYTvrZvTUOM/v-deo.html
2• Why did you wash the rice with salt?
Answer•• This is a practice I picked from my grandma, and for real I find it to help remove some of the surface starch and prevent clumping. Parboiling the rice until it is al’dente is one known way to remove starch from rice but except you’ve done that a couple of times and mastered how fast it takes to get to that point, you may overcook the rice hence I find this method ( washing with salt and warm water ) easier to achieve the goal.
TIP** Cosher salt will do a better job than the fine salt.

Yea so true but Ghanaians use perfume rice. That rice alone is yummy. I am Nigerian married to ghanian and i cook both rice same way. Honestly Ghana jollof with the help of the rice takes the crown
That is awesome
This war is unending and for the records it never taste the same. Lol
The difference between ghanaian jollof rice and Nigeria jollof rice is, Nigerians use to add butter to their jollof and is also Nigeria they have party jollof and original jollof anyway
I am not Nigerian but I love Jollof 🫣. Every time I want to make Jollof rice I come back here🥲🙏🏾
This time am back, I want to make it for my family this Christmas 🥰 thanks your video helps ❤️🇮🇪
I am a Nigerian diaspora and I can’t wait to try and cook food from the motherland thank you 🙏🏽
Where is this party at? Because I must have some of this Jollof now now now😋😁well done sissy ❤️❤️❤️

I just watched this. My Jollof rice hasn't been coming out so nice and I'm so grateful for this! Thanks a million!!!!!
My pleasure. ❤️
Seen this video this morning made me a vegetarian version w/beans for dinner.. Thannnk you-was delicious!
I just love how intentional you are with the paste
When a woman is beautiful and she know how to cook, she is a queen. Great job!!
Typical African wey for teach person for cook. Measurements are done with the eyes, timing is done with the tongue ... Thank you hanty hahaha
You make me laugh
Hahahahahahha u dey mad.
Put until the ancestors tell u its ok 😂😂😂
So true🤣🤣🤣🤣,
@@mbengalvine9734 , you guys are so funny 😂
I like the way you generously added season cubes. I sometimes watch some cooking videos where the person cooking will add just one cube and I am sure they will add more with the camera away because I know for the quantity of food they are cooking one cube will not be enough but they dont want to add more cos of what people will say. Thank you for being real.
Finally I see someone that gets it. 😂 thank you for this comment.

And I also realized that lots of Nigerians cook with red bell peppers any special reasons? thanks
@@peepypeepysan4082 yes it makes the color rich red
I used your recipe for jollof and I must say. It was the bestttttt. Everyone was just praying my jollof oooooo. Thank you soooooo much
Love this, I tried this with brown rice and less oil. It was still delicious.
Brown rice has a different taste to everything but the flavours were fabulous.
Couldn't resist watching when the video popped up 😃, one of the realest no forming UA-cam video I've seen 😍
I’m telling you... I like how she says “I made a big mistake guys.” She made the video like it’s just one of those days when you do your cooking void of cameras.
I really enjoyed watching this especially when you started singing, Tu face song...Yes o, Yes o, yes o....lol. Jollof on point, im trying this recipe.
Thank You so much. I followed your instructions to the T, and my jollof finally came out perfect. I have tried 5 other methods and it didnt work, yours was the best. New subbie.
I’m glad! Thank you for subscribing
Sorry for your loss Diouf! God rest her Soul. ♥️♥️
I have been looking for a video like this
This is the best jollof rice I’ve seen so far and it look delicious.
I have never had Joloff rice, but I know I would love it!! The ingredients and spices are so lovely! I love anything that is rice!
I watched this yesterday and I’m cooking it at the moment..the flavor is out of this world..thank u ma’am 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Perfecto!!!!! This is the best jollof rice recipe I've seen, Yes goat stock is best. Thank you!
What do you mean by reducing the stew until it thickens ?
Dolapo O. So it doesn’t have as much water content in it and affect the texture or taste. Basically just boil it down.
I KNOW !!!
Listen Im Haitian🇭🇹and this is how our Grandmas use to cook rice in Haiti👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👌🏾Bravo Very Nice and I will do it. Thank You
Haitian over here
!!
Oasisfullfilled which part of Haiti is that? Cause she added 10 chicken cubs.
yamii loway My people from Cap Haitian. Chicken cubes are not healthy but the same process
I’m sorry but Haitians DO NOT cook rice like this. Not even close... she’s even adding curry powder.... looks tasty though
This is like the best Party Jollof video!!!
🙏❤️
My mom traveled to Nigeria for 2 weeks.
She's coming today, and she asked me to make a dish for her returning.
I didn't know what to make then I thought of jollof rice, but I didn't know how to make it.
Then I watched your video.
This was so helpful!
The joyful cook : just looking at the food alone I'm full
Me: I dey tell you.
😊❤️❤️
Gosh!!!! This jollof rice is perfect!!!!
😍😍😍
When she said "so now let's taste it" and was picking the rice off the spatula, I was blowing air on my phone to cool it off 🤣🤣🤣

Thank you so much. I appreciate you.😘😘
Honestly this is one of the best jollof rice videos I have watched on UA-cam.
Thanks so much
I THINK THIS IS THE PERFECT JOLLOF I HAVE EVER SEEN.

This video.. I like it because I feel as if I am in the kitchen with you.
Aiii thank you so much.
Honestly.
Exactly ❤️💯 I like that about it
I just ate jollof today. My African friend taught me how to prepare it
Tbh this is the first Nigerian jollof recipe I have seen that can compete with gh jollof amidst the excess spices(msg) and rice looking a little firm.

I love the way she shows the quantities of each spice. The amount is always very important. Thanks for the video

Hmm, first
1. Production not scripted
2. Not Everyone coming for the interview party likes onion and tomatoes on the face of there food
3. No Explanation on why you chose that frame and type of pot and why you used that foil to cover the food production
4. In my small experience of serving over 1500 people food in over one month everyday and study as a film Maker I most say that this is the best food video I have seen in the world.
Because of the I have subscribed and I will share, I can't wait to see your next production.
