I have that watch. It's a fantastic piece of technology. I don't receive the signal here in the UK. I have to adjust it manually. Still can't fault it.
I learned there are actually apps and websites you can use to “fake” a Japanese radio signal using sound! I also set mine by hand but I’ll probably follow up with a how-to video on that app radio process at some point.
@@gadgetbeacon I tried to use the app..jjy emulator or something like that. Didn't work for me. Really only have to change the time when the clocks change( daylight savings time ). As you know the day and date are perpetual.
I'll have to try it someday but yeah the perpetual calendar is great. Now that I have it set correctly, I basically never need to touch the crown again. Which is kind of a shame because the crown is AWESOME
I have this watch. Its a great looking quartz, radio controlled (japan area only), solar powered field style titanium watch. If you wish to set it quickly just install and run JJY emulator app on your phone. Put the watch over headphones and it will sync to radio (app) time in ~ about 5min. Thanks for the video.
Boost the signal enough to pick-up the JJY signal from Japan? I don't think so. It doesn't receive any signals but from the Japanese ones. Of course, this reviewer was incorrect in claiming it is radio controlled without stipulating it only gets the Japanese signal. That said, I use the phone apps to do it and it's easy.
Yeah you're right. This watch is JDM with only the 2 jap signals. That said, some guy in Australia was able to get a JJ signal using a TV aerial cable!! Easier to use the app I guess 😅
Had this watch and traded it for the Ray Mears version. An absolute tank, I got into 2 bike crashes with it and somehow this watch still kicked ass after all the stuffs I put it through.
After I sold my Mont-Bell Promaster I really wanted another RC field watch. I came so close to getting one of these but that black bezel just bothered me. Fortunately, I was able to get a Promaster Land CB5921-59E at my local Citizen store for the stupid price of less than $250 usd (normally sells for almost $600). It’s kind of the big brother to this one at 45mm case size I think, but wears smaller. And it has the added stopwatch and alarm functions. The only drawback is its steel instead of titanium.
Yeah I’m not sure which countries broadcast that frequency, my understanding was it was limited to Japan but other countries could use it as well. I have watches in the US that pick up signals but they’re on a different signal frequency than this citizen
Nicellooking watch, frustrated for you it won't connect to the signal. I have the Promaster Tough on kevlar strap which looks similar and the PCAT using the E660 movement here in the UK. Wearing my BJ7111-51M titanium gmt whilst watching you video. My name is Steve, and yes, I'm a Citizenaholic...😂
Quality watch, the seconds hand hits the markers bang on with no play.
The seconds hand being so accurate is my favorite part 🤩
This is one of the nicest watches I own. So many features.
Agreed!!!
it is a handsome watch, indeed.

Man was saving for a The Citizen chronomaster....but this vid may have changed my mind. Great watch and fantastic review!!
They’re both great watches!

Thanks for the tip and for watching!
Just watched two of your videos. Great clean reviews. Everything you need, nothing you dont. Sub'd!
Thanks for watching!!
To boost the signal put watch on a radiator or metal frame of something (bicycle or some other thing with a metal frame). It often works. 😊

It's a shame that they don't produce this clean watch with a caliber that works also outside Japan!
They have had some ProMaster watches in the US that are similar but unfortunately not this one :(
Thanks for watching!

I’ll have to look that one up! This is one of my top 5 watches for sure
I've had mine for 2 years, love it. It's a great looking watch.
It really is! One of my favorites for sure

They’re great watches! Enjoy it!
The Promaster tough looks very similar but is 41mm with 22mm lug width. The size on this has better proportions for me, 7” wrist.
Agreed!
Strange why it only gets a signal in Japan when we have the signal in the UK. My Casio picks up the signal here.

Nice watch but , I don't live in Japan to get its full benefits.
Only accepts the JJY signals from Japan.

Nothing wrong with being addicted to Citizens! Thanks for watching!
are you sure you want to do this for a living?
This is a hobby. Thanks for watching!
What's your wrist size?
6.5” usually depending on the season! My wrists swell in summer pretty bad.
