@@dioselinaamaro5699 hi Dioselina! There is no set time frame like a normal school. You can sign up whenever you’d like and work at your own pace :) that’s the benefit of it! I believe you’d still get a kit with the elite course even if you make payments on it.

Thank you so much!!! Yes, it is accredited :) Schools can't falsely claim that otherwise they get Into a lot of trouble! I've gotten several of my pro discounts from it so it is valid everywhere!

I filmed a Smokey eye tutorial on my self on my channel :) it’s an older video but basically you just put down a gel liner and a black shadow and blend to your hearts content! Lol 😂 lots of blending!

Great review! I was looking around for online makeup courses and I was thinking of going here or QC makeup academy but I ended up picking Vizio makeup academy instead.

I love this video! Very helpful. One question: do you have to do the makeup on someone else's face or can you use your own face for the assignments?
Hi thanks so much! Great question! It’s highly encouraged that you find models to work on since that is the overall end goal of the course. However, you technically can do the assignments on yourself.

oh wow in NY? so cool, most of the makeup artist say being certified is a joke, but I heard great things about this school is good
To me being certified is better than having a license (even though a license holds more weight). Certifications are through makeup academies where you learn everything as opposed to a cosmetology school where you learn makeup for a week out of 9 months. I 100% think that getting a certification is worth it!
@Julie Ruby do you have to have for each assignment a model or can you work on yourself?
They encourage you to do it on a model to get more practice but technically you can do it on yourself. You just need a model for sure for the mature makeup application.
Can you get liscensed in your state after fully completing this program? For example pa requires 1,250 hours in the cosmetology curriculum at a licensed school of cosmetology. Would this program satisfy that requirement?
No, unfortunately not! A certification is completely separate than a license. A license goes by the state board where as individual companies do certifications such as OMA. They have no ties to state boards so they don’t overlap. Plus, since you can really do this program at your own pace there really isn’t a set number of hours since it takes everyone a different amount of time. A cosmetology school has to be able to track and record your hours for licensing :)
I’m thinking of doing this with a payment plan do they restrict access to the class until I have fully paid? Also is having another person to apply the makeup necessary or can we do it on ourselves?
Hi! I’m not not sure with the payment plan! I don’t have a direct affiliation with them so I just have basic info. You’ll have to contact them about that :) You don’t need model for the majority of them but some you may. I will let you know that having ppl to practice on is the main reason for doing this. This way the instructors can truly give you feedback.
I'm applying to a makeup school, I think it's a trade one with no HS transcript needed. can I ask did you get a diploma or certificate? Is their any difference between them? I wanted to apply mines as a bundle, which includes hairstyling diploma, airbrush makeup certificate and makeup diploma. Or doing it individually just for airbrush and makeup. Is the school hard? And learning the colour theory and applying to clients? Do you have to match eyeshadow looks and lips based on what's the client wears? If so, is it hard? And is the exams hard? is it a take home exam or can you bring notes in and use them? I'm starting on August and I was thinking if it was the same level as other regular Uni Or Coll of being worried. Sorry for a bunch of questions

Hi there! I'll answer your questions in the order you asked them:
1. Yes, I got a certificate at the end. It's the digital one in the video thumbnail, but they also send you a hard copy as well. I've never gone to an in-person school so I'm not sure what the difference is between a diploma and a certificate but I'm assuming they're similar.
2. I think you may have misunderstood this, but this is just my review for the online course not the in-person one they offer. Online courses are naturally going to be easier than in person, but you still do learn just as much since you have to work on models. I had experience for 4 years as a makeup artist prior to this course so for me it was pretty easy. I would still say that for a beginner it is easy to follow along.
3. You have assignments throughout the course in each module and they'll instruct you on what look you have to create on your model.
4. No, the exam isn't hard at the end (there's just one). You can take it however many times you need to get a passing score. It's different than what you're probably thinking since this isn't like a "school setting". It's only online so you don't go in person to take a test like normal cosmetology school

I was just wondering if the discounts can be used for online shopping? I’m from Kenya and we don’t have most of the makeup stores. The only way to buy the products for me is online n ship them to my country. Hence I was wondering if the discounts are applicable when shopping online or is it only when you purchase from the stores?
Thank you! Yes they are mostly for online discounts. I don’t have any in person stores near me so I’ve applied online for all of them :)

I was wondering if the license they offer are valid so I can legally do makeup and hair on clients? I’m from Georgia and I know you mentioned the online course is from NewYork . Hi! This is a certification course not an official license. You can only obtain a license through a beauty school in person. Whether or not you need one to practice is up to your state board of cosmetology so check with Georgia’s :)

Hi Claud! Great question! I would say as long as you have a decent range of products at home already, you should be perfectly fine to get the looks required :)

I would be interested in just a side certification for when friends and others locally would be interested in getting their makeup done by me or even apply to jobs like in sephora or ulta something like that.
I would go for the master course to learn the basics! From what I can tell, the other courses go into different areas of makeup that may not be necessary (editorial, period, etc).
Do you receive a physical certificate by the end of your course ?
Yes you do! They send it via mail in a frame so you can hang it up :) I just hadn’t received it by the time I filmed this video.
Did you get pro discounts with this course? or do you have to choose the more expensive one to get the discounts?
Once you get your certification from the course, you use it to apply for discounts. Each discount is through the actual brand’s websites. Like you’ll have to individually apply for them for each brand. Does that make sense?

Hi Celia! No certifications and licensures are completely separate :) You can only obtain a cosmetology license from a beauty school.

It totally depends on where you live!! Each state has different requirements. Check with your State Board of Cosmetology:)
You would be able to freelance like start your own makeup business but to work in a hair salon doing makeup like renting a booth or chair you would need a actual esthetician license.

No it doesn’t go super in depth with skin since it’s a makeup course! If you wanted to know more about skin, you’d have to take an esthetics course :)

Did you get a. Makeup certificate to become a licensed makeup artist
Hi! A license and a certification are two different things. A license you can only get by going to an actually cosmetology school where you learn all things like hair, makeup, nails, etc. A certification is for a specific area like makeup. You can't use a certification to get a license since they are considered separate.

@@yanna9637 It just shows that you are officially certified as an artist. Depending on where you live, it may be a requirement to have one. I took the course because I wanted something official with my name on it. Plus, it gives you more credentials meaning you can charge more and also give you professional training. You can also get pro discounts with it too as I mentioned in the video :)
