i must say i'm tearing up, they constantly talk about how they're in the middle, successful enough to not be called nugus and not sucessful enough to be called popular and that being a very awkward space to be in, i love them so badly and i only wish the best for the them
At least they're popular in their home country, rather than international only because I'm sure that's more meaningful to an artists and their ultimate goal
Atleast they are famous somewhere. Also being succesful in South Korea is beneficial on the long term as it gives more opportunities for a longer career. Like you can become an actor like Bona who starred in hit drama Twenty-Five Twenty-One. If you are sucessful internationally you will thrive as a group, but not much when the group is no longer a thing. Also more fame in Korea means more CFS that is crucial for girl group members income. @@gwenmloveskpopandmore
@@vixxexo6855 But the biggest CF’s are the overseas ones. Blackpink is the best example, their biggest CFs are from international (foreign) brands like Dior etc… and they managed to get those international CF’s due to their massive international fandom, not Korean-only fandom. Even if BP disbands this year and the girls no longer wish to be celebrities, their net worth would be close to 16-18 million average per member. One can retire and lead a comfortable life on that.
Everything that happen since then : December : WJSN Season’s greetings ‘Recipe of Love’ January : SeolA Solo Debut : INSIDE OUT with the title track ‘Without U’ There has been no comeback since June 2022.
"C-line didn't resign" meanwhile the actual statement: "The contracts with the Chinese members have been automatically terminated" C-line never even got a choice to resign lol
a fun thing about the wj for wj please and wj stay is that it's pronounced as "wuju" (as in the 우주 in 우주소녀) or like "would you" in english (like their intro greeting, "would you like!"). so it can be a phrase like "would you please", "would you stay", while also referring to them as a group
WJSN is definitely a functional group and I'm so happy to see them continue. Let's hope that they will be able to reach their full potential and be happy with their careers :) Kpop needs stable groups like them. They are definitely successful and seeing their sound develop is great and they are amazing at what they do. As much as I love seeing groups rise to the very top with one or two great hits I think it's incredibly satisfying to see a beloved group winning over fans with every comeback and slowly build a loyal fanbase that can sustain them for many more years
Dun make that as the excuse why she didnt renew the contract. All WJSN birthdays are set up by the members themselves; they never asked any staff to help them in anyway. She already said she is still part of WJSN, but she wants to move on to another company because she wants to do new things other than being an idol and acting. It is rumoured that she left Starship as she wanted to go into an E-sports career.
A random thing I heard is that both Soobin and Luda are part of a v-tuber? group named FE:VERSE Keuang? is played by Luda while KimSerena is played by Soobin?
I'm surprised that Starship didn't try to make them queens of the new year after the success of As You Wish like they made summer the season of SISTAR. Starship should have gotten WJSN onto popular award shows and television shows so everyone knows its WJSN singing As You Wish.
so much potential with these girls and starship failed to really max it out. but I’m glad they did what they did & I hope all members are happy with what they’re going to do now (the 8 who stayed but also the 5 who left)
I have an insane amount of respect for these girls. Though they have never quite reached the stardom level of, say, Blackpink or Twice, they have stayed incredibly consistent, with a clear personality and concept in their music, good vocalists, a rapper who writes her own lyrics and even produces for other groups too now (we love you EXY), sub-units, a devoted fanbase, AND now most of the girls renewed their contract. I wish all of them nothing but the best for what's next.
Guys just for your info Meng meiqi also released her ep "love or not" with the title track mute surpassing 75million views on weibo and selling 1 million copies, she then returned in October of 2021 with the title track "suffering" and then again in november of 2022 with her 3rd ep "white frequency" and the title track "alien" and she has not released music since then.
Starship is one of those companies where the thing about new groups pushing out the older ones is way too real. Despite their size and status as a company, they have only four currently active groups, treated their first two groups as experiments, and are surprisingly incompetent. Things like having fake birthdays are a common occurrence in their groups apparently, and WJSN were sadly not their only group having inappropriate or dangerous staff members. China line were also their first foreign artists, with them previously only having Ten (yes, of NCT) as a trainee for a year previously. I hope the members that left can find happiness in a better place, and that the ones that stayed may be treated more fairly.
24:18 for anyone who’s curious, it was just announced today that dawon and luda will still she promoting with the group, but will not remain under starship!
I love WJSN, I’m a casual listener. But still. And I understand why Luda and Dawon left. After everything with Dawons health I understand why she would be over this lifestyle. And Luda was always forgotten about never given any spotlight and her birthday event on vlive was so sad. I understand why both of them decided to leave
It's not made up. I don't know about staff or if it was a repeated issue, but there is footage of her being touched inappropriately by a backup dancer during a performance.
forgot to mention but recently luda and soobin won the kakao survival show girls:reverse and will be doing their debut as virtual idols with fe:verse in may.
They are my ult group ever since 2017 and I love them so much. Really sad about the new renewal news, as Dawon was one of my favourite members, but I am looking forward to what releases we do get from the group moving forward. WJSN are amazing and super talented and deserve so much more love and attention than they have receiced
The chinese trinity not returning actually was a relief. The wjsn korean members already suffered and suffer right now with bad promotion of group, mistreatment and solo activities and lack of good budget for mvs, lack of world tours etc. So imagine if the chinese trio wasnt managed by a chinese company and was by St rshp instead lmao....they would suffer lower payement, fewer schedules, not being able to see their families, like many foreigner idols suffer in midtier companies. I am glad the chinese trio is doing well in cdramas, variety and music in their homeland and thankful for what they did for WJSN when they were a full group🥺😭. Now about the korean members, Yeonjung breaks my heart. She one of the most popular in the IOI/produce days, she has an angelical powerful vocal, and she isnt that talked or with buzz anymore on the mainstream of kpop. Like queendom stated, wjsn is that group the general public knows the songs but doesnt stan or even know if they are active or not. And other members like Bona and Dayoung, had recently been on hype bc of acting and variety, but barely promoted. St rship only did well in promotion and management with IVE, for some reason(I love Ive but its sad this fact). Strshp flaws remind me of FNC, both have talented visual and versatile idols and they are often known by other thing except idol career 😭. Btw, wjsn has a discography that ages so well. Even when they ditched the fantasy magic girls concept, the quality stayed! Like they had everything to be more known in 3rd generation, at least by side of GFRIEND, but the opportunities were missed..... But lets be optimistic. Even if they stay in the "middle", they could last a long time like Apink, Snsd.
Great video! I am hoping that StarShip treats the remaining members much better! There are lots of newer fans like myself who go into them through Queendom 2 that, along with older fans, who are eagerly awaiting the group’s next release. ❤
Just wanted to say thanks for making these videos! It is so interesting getting the full back story of these groups. WJSN's timeline is wild, and I truly hope the ladies are okay and happy.
man i forgot about some of the mistreatment they faced especially with seola’s aquaphobia like that angered me all over again and how overworked cheng xiao was + there were so many management mistakes to me wjsn is 13, the members leaving is just because of scheduling conflict and and other issues but the members bond is still there. their achievements surpass just numbers, they are amazing and have left their mark on the industry and i’m excited for their future no matter what happens.
thank you so much for making this video. there's something so special about wjsn - i ulted them like a few days after i started stanning them and they're one of those groups that is really easy to get into and love. their career makes me really sad sometimes - they never had a real breakthrough and the majority of the kpop community doesn't know much about them. on top of that, starship doesn't promote them properly, they got hate for winning queendom 2 (which is ridiculous as it's not like they made the decision). at the same time, though, i was so relieved that 8 renewed. in some ways, them being a small group is really amazing as well, because they do have creative input - exy helped write 'done' - and they have a really genuine bond that can be rare to find. unnie line, and especially exy, pretty much helped raise dayoung. exy and seola have been friends for over 15 years. exy's the reason bona moved to starship. and despite joining the group after debut, yeonjung really found her place in the group and stayed when she could've left. i hope that in their next chapter, they get the recognition they deserve
I'm just so incredibly proud of how far they've come and i'm very very excited to see what they will show us in this new era. it's bittersweet that Luda and Dawon left, but i am really looking forward to their next steps. please continue to support them no matter what
2024 now; in 2023 we got zero activity from wjsn as a group, despite the promises. and they were completely excluded from starship activities. :( i hope we can see them in 2024
If I had to be their management staff or producer, I'd like to plan the whole universe about "Cosmic Girls". It's such a waste. Why did the company faking the birthday to fit into a zodiac concept but then it just stop there. I'd like to make each MV a continuation like a drama, like how they were found, how they reach earth, what power did every member have, etc. The dreamy MV is really good tho, it's just so different from other group. I might make a mini stories or short movies just to fill the gap between each MV, to complete their "Cosmic" or "Zodiac" universe.
I do agree that the zodiac concept is a waste. It's unnecessary but at the time, this kind of concept thingy was popular. Plus, I'm actually happy they didn't do too many stuff, just look at Loona and their debts
very well done video on wjsn! i never knew how storied their career was, especially over the years. this has only pushed me to look out for them as they start on their new journey this coming year ahead
Honestly, you need to do a video on the following: - Gugudan (this group had such a good concept and selection of title tracks, so their failure really bothers me even years after their disbandment) - Gfriend (not an underrated group but their "disbandment" was forced, messy, and still heartbreaking. the fact that they didn't even want to separate and only did to pursue careers they weren't expecting to explore so soon speaks to how bad this really was) - Pink Fantasy/Busters/Blackswan (this could be more like the BlingBling-Hot Issue-Lunarsolar video since Blackswan/Rania gets talked about alot, I think the conversation about lineup changes with varying companies is a good place to dive into) - Saturday (literally the Momoland of nugu and I believe they are in a position I want to save them from, I let gugudan down I can't do it again TT)
I'm still not over gugudan. I don't get it, they were doing better and better each cb. Not that type was their best seller. They would've done great with that concept as that whens girl crush really hit it big. Like they could've been gidle level of popularity. I really don't understand
I would love a video on gugudan. The boots is literally my favourite kpop track of all time, and their story is heartbreaking. They had so much talent and were let down at every turn
as a long term ujung, i am always sad that c line arent with us now. wjsn ot10 are super unique as individual and as a group but c line are also aa valuable! yue hua.... but memories with c line are always treasured
Wjsn was done dirty especially the Chinese members, only one comeback each year from 2020? Starship really dosent care, yuehua made most of the statements yet im not sure if they will continue to manage wjsn anymore
I've been into Kpop for a while now...like 13-14 years and to me, WJSN is such a strong group (they give me SNSD vibes). Each member is basically the K-pop triple threat, ie, each member has the vocals (Exy is a boss rapper and don't get me started on Yeonjung, Dawon, Soobin, Seola and Dayoung (who is one of the craziest people I think to exist on this planet) as one of the best vocal lines in Kpop right now), the variety sense (they are all loveable clowns but Luda...Luda scares me with how crazy she is and the out-of-pocket statements that come out of her mouth 😂😂😂) and the acting prowess (especially Bona in 25,21 and Yeonjung and Soobin in their plays all the members who've acted thus far in anything are actually really strong in their roles). Yeoreum is such a talented dancer and an absolute cutie. Plus, they have such a beautiful group dynamic (they seem to genuinely enjoy being with each other) and one of the most diverse discographies out there. No two songs sound exactly the same for them (Exy is such a talented producer). I know that they may not be commercially successful right now but I truly believe that one day the rest of the world will wake up to the reality that Ujungs already know. I'm not too worried though, because they definitely have what it takes to maintain a successful and meaningful long-term career. I think that's more important. Much of pop culture today is so cookie-cutter and feels artificially flavoured but for me, WJSN is like a rustic, hearty meal. Complex, diverse and with a depth that truly makes the experience worthwhile. They've all got such beautiful personalities (now I dont know them personally but their genuineness shines through) and will be in the industry and continue to excel for a long while. They can only go up. (Also, side note, Eunseo, you beautiful, handsome, caring, gorgeous human being, my bias is Yeonjung but, you can, if you want to, run me over with a city bus).
I'm a new ujung, and I really appreciate the video My bias was cheng xiao (cos I started by watching ot13 videos first, and I got to know her through FIYS). Currently it's Eunseo (EunXiao ❤) I'm really sad that WJSN doesn't get the recognition they deserve, but at the same time, I hope they can last a long time as they continuously build their fambase!!! WJSN FIGHTING 🎉❤❤ P.S. It's end 2024 now. Comeback??? 😢
I just want to take a moment and say thank you. These videos are always so well put together, and always do such a wonderful job informing and highlighting these lesser known groups.
something to note with the MV views is that 1thek and starshipTV youtube channels both have different amounts of views? would probably be best to combine the views or just going off the starshipTV views alone would be a bit helpful good stuff regardless though, thank you for compiling all this
Thank you for the mention, we should've done more research on this aspect! UA-cam often only shows 1theK videos when searching for MVS, well be more cautious in the future!
The one thing that always concerned me, was an episode of them either doing recordings or filming the music video in the cold. And showcased their dormitory, they had to ask their manager or ceo jokingly to feed them more. :(
I think cosmic girls would have been more popular if starship promoted them more in their later years as a group. I'm proud of them though as a fan and hopefully they'll keep giving us great music.
Thank you so much for making the recap about WJSN's journey in this video. A lot of things we should know about WJSN, they have showcased much great efforts and performances and we as Ujungs really proud for them, but sadly the companies not too serious to manage them. Wishing only the best for them in future. Let I give some corrections and additional info beside the explanation which we got here: - 5:18 My Cosmic Diary were been released on June 2016, and it's been aired by MNet, not MBC. - 8:24 Their forth mini album Dream Your Dream was released on February 27th, 2018, not in January. Great video, thank you again for this. ❤️
As a KARA fan, I started stanning WJSN also recently. Still, after learning their history it's breaking my heart that WJSN as in not managed by the company and was treated like a stepchild when IVE got debuted and gained famous instantly. Still, they take care of themselves as a group and remain solid, this is the same with the history of KARA as well. I admire their strong mental for still sane after getting abused by their company, forcing the member to go in the pool despite her aquaphobia, using laxatives for diet is pretty much fu*cked up and members have to hide their phones just order food 😭😭 as a KAMILIA and UJUNG I wish they could come back strong as ever before and their queendom expanding more and more.
Great work! Thanks for this much needed educational WJSN bibliography. Only the best of you, to each I follow, would be able to pull this off. I'm sure current, baby, and future Ujungs love it. I would include non-Ujungs, but I'm sure anyone that watches this would become a baby Ujung. 😁 I love how they've grown organically as the years progressed defying any 7th year numbers of any other groups. It would be business suicide and flat out stupidity for SSE to re-align resources away from them given their trends because, even IVE's, success isn't promised--especially given how competitive 4th Gen and industry, as a whole, is. Let's hope and pray they're with us for many years to come. That can only be with the support from we (and future) Ujungs. I can't imagine a world w/o them and don't think anyone else can fill their shoes as long as they don't conspire to hide them (Bona fansign reference).
thank you thank you thank you ngl i’m in tears rn i just wanted to let you know that how much i appreciate ur video as a ‘not quite fresh’ ujung it’s like taking a trip down memory lane, despite not every step of wjsn being flower-covered the decent pertinent details given in here is just rare, and i must say this profile even regarding their future and with newest updates about our situation and continuing as a unchanged 10-member group is one very rarely well said video i’m lost for words, just simply thank you
Xuanyi was my favorite member everytime I saw her with the rest of members after 2018 would give me hope she and the other Chinese members would return it's really sad to see them go and not be mentioned until years later with their contracts ending
I think each member representing a different zodiac is a cute idea but the fake birthdays thing is so weird, like they don’t need to have a fake birthday to represent a zodiac sign??
I love WJSN and i love their musical concept, tho by this case as well, people may not like the music concept here. Imo their concept is like the old japanese genre, City Pop. And as i know them after Mamamoo, which both have great foundation as singers, i really wish WJSN will stay strong as one of the rare concepts. And if compared with newer gg of ss, it's old vs new music concept. In example, WJSN songs are great for relaxing, studying or sleeping while IVE songs are for doing active things. If asked about visual of course WJSN have more variety, more concept & more stable. Starship really should give them more chances, more activity. Or just let them doing solo/units, whether it's acting, modeling, singing or producing songs for themselves or for others. In the recent VR Idols & their lack of activity, i really sad & also happy that few of them join in. With Luda really not resign with them & Dawon with her previous cases and her ninja-like aura of "you may don't see me, but i can slay" doesn't resign as well. Hope for the best for WJSN and Luda & Dawon in the recent & future~ My bias Eunseo, Soobin, Luda, Yeonjung.
As Ujung from 2016 i understand what you said in Video and YEAH since Starship losing Sistar they really promoting WJSN and Monsta X but in FINALLY Monsta X gaining more popularity than WJSN Why Monsta X can release more album than WJSN? cause they are self producing Idol, they can make and producing songs together For some bad communications it Starship stereotype, they doing same too to IVE recently when Wonyoung get lot of hate comment since debut in 2021 Also for diet, Starship is worsely for their Girlgroup not only WJSN but IVE too Wonyoung has been bullied by haters cause of her height and it makes her so insecure to Food Why WJSN only release 1 album since 2020? It cause Starship forcing them for Solo Project not as group again But this is sad to me when their Boygroup actively promoting but not for WJSN For fake Birthday cases, not only WJSN, i heard B1A4 agencies doing this too to follow the concept So Starship and WM had some problem with this For C-Line i think cause Yuehua cut the relationship with Starship but this is nonsense, right? And sadly never making their Japanese debut or Japanese Tour, it makes WJSN name in overseas being forgotten And before IVE there is no Starship Girlgroup debuting in Japan As Ujung i'm only hope WJSN popularity never faded although this is 4th Generation era Mistreatment from Starship in past i hope not happen to CRAVITY and IVE I really fear IVE get some bad treatment after their BOOM in 2021-2022 And FYI, Soobin and Luda will redebut as Virtual Idol named Kim Serena and Keuang this May as member of FE:VERSE
I found wj please in the summer of 2021 and later on super yuppers solidified that love for me! And thankfully I was able to see them at kcon later that year! I hope they’re able to have more releases soon. I think they’re just so special
I was annoyed by the chinese members departure. It was obvious from the start since they were managed by Yueha that they weren't truely in the group like the korean members and it was more like a "loan", like how football players are loaned out to other teams to get experience. The chinese members were always going to depart early eventually but Starship didn't communicate this so it looked like the chinese members just fled (like the chinese EXO members) so it caused bad feelings to korean fans. That's part of the reason korean fans don't want chinese members in kpop anymore because whats the point in getting attached to idols then they just go back to China after 3 years?
Yeah it’s sad how sometimes you can tell some chinese idols are just biding time for their next big thing and they’re just dipping their toes in kpop as a stepping stone. I understand their decisions for career advancement but I can also understand why companies hesitate to take in chinese trainees bc it’s a gamble and why fans are wary of chinese members thinking that they will leave the group eventually
honestly despite dawon being my bias im glad shes cutting ties w the company... They've always managed them badly and often in inappropiate and creepy ways, I just hope the other members will be fine
2:43 Why do they all have the same hair color? I am somewhat of a new fan. I discovered this group back in 2020. My first favorite song that I discovered them by was secret, and I’ve been obsessed since. My main problem other than not being able to fully sing the songs is that I have a very hard time telling the girls apart. I just wanted to know if that was intentional (by the company or agency they work for)
As an ujung...I saw a few hate comments like how people say we are jealous that WJSN can never be as good as IVE, or that "good riddance" they're "not renewing" (which they did!)...It makes me sad that people still hate on them. I respect your opinion, maybe WJSN just isn't for you, but there are a great deal of us here who care about them. If you don't want others to hate on your fav group, don't hate on other groups
Thank you so much for making this. This video felt so short for me but if I wish for it to be longer and include all their 7 yrs history, then I bet it's gonna be a whole documentary 😅. This was very informative especially to baby ujungs and even non fans to get to know wjsn and the hardships they experienced to get were they are right now just with the help of their fans and themselves. Starshit and YH are bullshits!!!! 🤬 Here's my take. I liked the company's idea of introducing the members in unit. That way the fans that time would not be overwhelmed with the number of members in the group and also for the fans to easily distinguish them. BUT THAT'S IT!! They just introduced them in unit and that's it. I really thought before that through those units, they would release in units some song and dance covers then the company and fans would make it go viral for them to be known in general public and gain more fans. But they wasted that idea and opportunity ffs.
Thank you very much for watching! We tried to include the most important steps in their career & it's actually our longest video to date! And we agree, the unit introductions were kind of wasted :/
Its a shame that now with IVE starship will give their less and less and probably the members will be going in their individual schedules only...Luds and Dawon leaving don't surprise me since they were both VERY neglected and Dawon health isn't the best rn. I just hope the 8 remaining members can get the proper care and attention since WJSN is a famous group, even people who arent ujungs now them since their songs and aesthetic are very etheral and memorable
@@gwenmloveskpopandmore i mean since queendom end she's permanent cast in kbs boss pet with banggu, then after the show end she got in girls reverse, and after this end she still gonna have her webdrama release soon and she even sing the ost too. and she still has some guest appearances in other shows too and also her chocome schedule. yea. "VERY neglected"
I'm hoping the steam they've gathered will help them overcome SSE's realignment of resources focus to IVE. I'm sure we'll have them for a while, but not at the capacity we've had for the past couple of years. I suspect they'll slowly evolve into an Apink or 소녀시대, but I hope they're more active with the current members. Let's help/pray SSE sees their value, given our support, to help them organically grow and mature themselves w/the industry.
sse wasted the following: 1. the hype of wjsn on their queendom win 2. they made units during debut (wonder, joy, sweet, natural) but never used or utilized properly. they did chocome and black tho but they could've utilized the original units made. 3. the chinese members 4. wjsn as a whole.
And Yeoreum's hype on Queendom Puzzle! She's currently promoting as the leader of EL7Z UP. The other members are Kei, Yeeun, Yeonhee (Rocket Punch), Nana (woo!ah!), Hwiseo (H1-KEY) and Yuki (PURPLE KISS)
I just realized something you didn’t mention (probably because barely no one knew about it) so about that repackage after happy moment. It actually turned about to be just a single called “Kiss Me” released on July 14, 2017 but they didn’t promote it anywhere and it’s not even apart of their Wikipedia bio. Just a little fun fact ☺️
19:40 what also made orbits (loona fans) upset is that mnet announced on twitter that once loona recovered from covid, they would be allowed to perform their first stage and be evaluated, allowing them to get points albeit with a slight penalty. mnet ended up not doing this, but if loona received even the minimum amount of points available for the first round, they would've won the show. no hate to wjsn, of course; they and their fandom worked extremely hard, and obviously neither group had a say in this. it's an unfortunate situation all around, and i wish for continued success and happiness for both groups and their members.
i'm an ujung and thank you so much for this. i've seen so many orbits constantly shit on wjsn for winning queendom but wjsn aren't the ones who made the decision and both groups deserve so much better from their companies and the kpop industry - wjsn have such an amazing discography but everyone sleeps on them.
Why would WJSN give the trophy to the "real winners"? No disrespect to Loona, I really pity their situation too; I think more could have been done for them, but at the same time you're just discrediting WJSN for something they have no power over.
It’s sad because Ot13 would really push through if the pandemic did not happen, the China-Korea relations did not become ugly and this could regain more fans and even push WJSN in China.
It's really annoying how some K-pop fans think that if a group isn't popular overseas it means they're "not popular" there are groups that are well known in Korea, Japan, and China but not popular in America/ overseas, it doesn't mean they're nugus. WJSN are an example, they are very popular in Korea and China, their sales are high and their songs are high on the charts, they’re well-known yeah sure! They’re not as big as twice or bp but that doesn’t mean they’re “mid/nugu “
imo starship's obsession with insane solo promotions didn't really help that much to promote wjsn as a whole group, this was the same issue that monsta x faced during their earlier years because sse was only pushing 1 or 2 members to the public so the GP would only know the individual member and not the group they are in. it is never too late to agressively promote wjsn as a whole again, the girls are still relatively young and they can still reach a new peak. (by agressive promoting i don't mean a sudden influx with comebacks, sse just has to intensively promote their comebacks from radio shows to variety shows which helps in giving the song recognition) also since the difference in albums between monsta x and wjsn were mentioned, it is important to note that after sistar disbanded in 2017 sse was in a limbo financially thus resulting to the sudden influx of albums that monsta x were releasing, from 2 comebacks average in 2015 and 2016 to 4 or 5 comebacks from 2017 to 2021. the guys were vocal about how sse are overworking them and this issue wasn't really resolved until they negotiated for their contracts. hopefully that new ceo they hired last year would actually put shidae back to his senses that overworking isn't a good thing nor is underworking beneficial. (wjsn's next comeback should definitely be a full album now though, let the songs made by the girls see the light!)
I love you using the korean names for the members but please do the same for the albums next time, DobleW Jay Stay ? was actually pronounced Would You stay?... It was a wordplay. Anyways. I love your videos😻😍💯

there are actually two music videos for dreams come true, the other has 7.8 million! ua-cam.com/video/IrircflFHzw/v-deo.html
Dream come true has 7.8M views
@@Mini_MinheeLuvity Upvote on this, some of the MVs are uploaded on 1thek and WJSN's own channel.
Monsta x is not a 1 year old group plz pay attention in the future. Thank you
@@flaxsikare_forblink are you good? They meant when WJSN got started.they didn’t mean RIGHT NOW.. lmao
i must say i'm tearing up, they constantly talk about how they're in the middle, successful enough to not be called nugus and not sucessful enough to be called popular and that being a very awkward space to be in, i love them so badly and i only wish the best for the them
Yeah like they’re only popular in Korea and China
At least they're popular in their home country, rather than international only because I'm sure that's more meaningful to an artists and their ultimate goal
Atleast they are famous somewhere. Also being succesful in South Korea is beneficial on the long term as it gives more opportunities for a longer career. Like you can become an actor like Bona who starred in hit drama Twenty-Five Twenty-One. If you are sucessful internationally you will thrive as a group, but not much when the group is no longer a thing. Also more fame in Korea means more CFS that is crucial for girl group members income.
@@gwenmloveskpopandmore
@@vixxexo6855 yeah
@@vixxexo6855 But the biggest CF’s are the overseas ones. Blackpink is the best example, their biggest CFs are from international (foreign) brands like Dior etc… and they managed to get those international CF’s due to their massive international fandom, not Korean-only fandom. Even if BP disbands this year and the girls no longer wish to be celebrities, their net worth would be close to 16-18 million average per member. One can retire and lead a comfortable life on that.
Everything that happen since then :
December : WJSN Season’s greetings ‘Recipe of Love’
January : SeolA Solo Debut : INSIDE OUT with the title track ‘Without U’
There has been no comeback since June 2022.
"C-line didn't resign"
meanwhile the actual statement:
"The contracts with the Chinese members have been automatically terminated"
C-line never even got a choice to resign lol
a fun thing about the wj for wj please and wj stay is that it's pronounced as "wuju" (as in the 우주 in 우주소녀) or like "would you" in english (like their intro greeting, "would you like!"). so it can be a phrase like "would you please", "would you stay", while also referring to them as a group
Thank you for the addition, that's really cute!
Omg i didnt even know this!!
WJSN is definitely a functional group and I'm so happy to see them continue. Let's hope that they will be able to reach their full potential and be happy with their careers :)
Kpop needs stable groups like them. They are definitely successful and seeing their sound develop is great and they are amazing at what they do. As much as I love seeing groups rise to the very top with one or two great hits I think it's incredibly satisfying to see a beloved group winning over fans with every comeback and slowly build a loyal fanbase that can sustain them for many more years
I was actually surprised when I saw "Last Sequence" live performance, and there were many fans supporting them and moving their lightsticks
luda also went viral for having a worse birthday live setup that streamers kept falling with ive having very professional ones .
Makes sense why she didn't renew her contract.
@@watashi5700 I thought the same
Dun make that as the excuse why she didnt renew the contract.
@@salbenrosli707 So Luda will like I.M from Monsta X?
A random thing I heard is that both Soobin and Luda are part of a v-tuber? group named FE:VERSE
Keuang? is played by Luda while KimSerena is played by Soobin?
I'm surprised that Starship didn't try to make them queens of the new year after the success of As You Wish like they made summer the season of SISTAR. Starship should have gotten WJSN onto popular award shows and television shows so everyone knows its WJSN singing As You Wish.
It's hard to repeat the success for As You Wish. It's not they intentionally plan the song that way
I agree, around December and January they should be doing special performances of the song so the public knows about wjsn
EXACTLY like they should capitalize on the success, similar to how mariah carey goes all out on christmas to promote her song and it works
so much potential with these girls and starship failed to really max it out. but I’m glad they did what they did & I hope all members are happy with what they’re going to do now (the 8 who stayed but also the 5 who left)
did dawon and luda only leave starship or did they leave the group also?
@@scarlettdelgado3233 only sse, they can participate in wjsn activities if they want + soobin literally publically said wjsn is 10 :]
Their music is good tbh.
Guys just for your info
Meng meiqi also released her ep "love or not" with the title track mute surpassing 75million views on weibo and selling 1 million copies, she then returned in October of 2021 with the title track "suffering" and then again in november of 2022 with her 3rd ep "white frequency" and the title track "alien" and she has not released music since then.
Starship losing Dawon is an amazing fuck up.
24:18 for anyone who’s curious, it was just announced today that dawon and luda will still she promoting with the group, but will not remain under starship!
We just added it to the pinned comment! Soo happy about the news! :)
@Bang me Chan And you know this how?
@@asareirene dont believe this person/troll, they be making up stories just to get ppl attention
“Starship Entertainment didn’t comment on the matter.” I’m sensing a pattern.
Yeah Boyfriend WJSN Cravity are and/or were neglected by Starship
And Monsta X, starship literally never defend or help them
The chinese trinity not returning actually was a relief.
Thank you for watching, let's hope for a successful future & good management :)
Just wanted to say thanks for making these videos! It is so interesting getting the full back story of these groups. WJSN's timeline is wild, and I truly hope the ladies are okay and happy.
Thank you very much for watching! ✨
man i forgot about some of the mistreatment they faced especially with seola’s aquaphobia like that angered me all over again and how overworked cheng xiao was + there were so many management mistakes
to me wjsn is 13, the members leaving is just because of scheduling conflict and and other issues but the members bond is still there.
their achievements surpass just numbers, they are amazing and have left their mark on the industry and i’m excited for their future no matter what happens.
thank you so much for making this video. there's something so special about wjsn - i ulted them like a few days after i started stanning them and they're one of those groups that is really easy to get into and love. their career makes me really sad sometimes - they never had a real breakthrough and the majority of the kpop community doesn't know much about them. on top of that, starship doesn't promote them properly, they got hate for winning queendom 2 (which is ridiculous as it's not like they made the decision). at the same time, though, i was so relieved that 8 renewed. in some ways, them being a small group is really amazing as well, because they do have creative input - exy helped write 'done' - and they have a really genuine bond that can be rare to find. unnie line, and especially exy, pretty much helped raise dayoung. exy and seola have been friends for over 15 years. exy's the reason bona moved to starship. and despite joining the group after debut, yeonjung really found her place in the group and stayed when she could've left. i hope that in their next chapter, they get the recognition they deserve
they have one of the best discography in kpop!
Thank you very much!
Honestly, you need to do a video on the following:
- Gugudan (this group had such a good concept and selection of title tracks, so their failure really bothers me even years after their disbandment)
- Gfriend (not an underrated group but their "disbandment" was forced, messy, and still heartbreaking. the fact that they didn't even want to separate and only did to pursue careers they weren't expecting to explore so soon speaks to how bad this really was)
- Pink Fantasy/Busters/Blackswan (this could be more like the BlingBling-Hot Issue-Lunarsolar video since Blackswan/Rania gets talked about alot, I think the conversation about lineup changes with varying companies is a good place to dive into)
- Saturday (literally the Momoland of nugu and I believe they are in a position I want to save them from, I let gugudan down I can't do it again TT)
@@neverneverland5836 for me, it's 'a girl like me' that song is one of the best kpop titles ever released
Gugudan aka the amazing Sejeong and friends.
@@neverneverland5836 yes, I love The Boots, a 96.7% Sejeong song. I love her.
Bruh why are they so ignored by their own company?? It's so nerve wrecking!
as a long term ujung, i am always sad that c line arent with us now. wjsn ot10 are super unique as individual and as a group but c line are also aa valuable! yue hua.... but memories with c line are always treasured
Wjsn was done dirty especially the Chinese members, only one comeback each year from 2020? Starship really dosent care, yuehua made most of the statements yet im not sure if they will continue to manage wjsn anymore
Yueha doesn’t manage them no more yet they don’t wanna admit it
I've been into Kpop for a while now...like 13-14 years and to me, WJSN is such a strong group (they give me SNSD vibes). (Also, side note, Eunseo, you beautiful, handsome, caring, gorgeous human being, my bias is Yeonjung but, you can, if you want to, run me over with a city bus).
this is the video I was more excited about!! Thank you for your good work as always ❤️
Thank you so much for watching! ❤️
I'm a new ujung, and I really appreciate the video
My bias was cheng xiao (cos I started by watching ot13 videos first, and I got to know her through FIYS). Currently it's Eunseo (EunXiao ❤)
I'm really sad that WJSN doesn't get the recognition they deserve, but at the same time, I hope they can last a long time as they continuously build their fambase!!!
WJSN FIGHTING 🎉❤❤
P.S. It's end 2024 now. Comeback??? 😢
I just started stanning them the day ludawon were announced to leave sse, tysm for this vid ❤
I just want to take a moment and say thank you. These videos are always so well put together, and always do such a wonderful job informing and highlighting these lesser known groups.
Thank you very much, it means a lot to us! ❤️
something to note with the MV views is that 1thek and starshipTV youtube channels both have different amounts of views? would probably be best to combine the views or just going off the starshipTV views alone would be a bit helpful
good stuff regardless though, thank you for compiling all this
Thank you for the mention, we should've done more research on this aspect! UA-cam often only shows 1theK videos when searching for MVS, well be more cautious in the future!
For me they are the most underrated kpop girl group of all time..❤
SO EXCITED TO WATCH !!
Same
The one thing that always concerned me, was an episode of them either doing recordings or filming the music video in the cold.
Let I give some corrections and additional info beside the explanation which we got here:
- 5:18 My Cosmic Diary were been released on June 2016, and it's been aired by MNet, not MBC.
- 8:24 Their forth mini album Dream Your Dream was released on February 27th, 2018, not in January.
Great video, thank you again for this. ❤️
WJSN: "We'll have THIRTEEN members!" TripleS: "Hold my beer"
24 😭😭
As a KARA fan, I started stanning WJSN also recently. Still, after learning their history it's breaking my heart that WJSN as in not managed by the company and was treated like a stepchild when IVE got debuted and gained famous instantly. Still, they take care of themselves as a group and remain solid, this is the same with the history of KARA as well.
I admire their strong mental for still sane after getting abused by their company, forcing the member to go in the pool despite her aquaphobia, using laxatives for diet is pretty much fu*cked up and members have to hide their phones just order food 😭😭
as a KAMILIA and UJUNG I wish they could come back strong as ever before and their queendom expanding more and more.
For the former Chinese members it was hard for them to return especially since both countries were against each other and Covid
Great work! Thanks for this much needed educational WJSN bibliography. Only the best of you, to each I follow, would be able to pull this off. I'm sure current, baby, and future Ujungs love it. I would include non-Ujungs, but I'm sure anyone that watches this would become a baby Ujung. 😁
I love how they've grown organically as the years progressed defying any 7th year numbers of any other groups.
Thank you very very much, it means a lot to us! :)
They're one of my favourite girl groups
Esperaba tanto este video, me encanto. Espero y les valla bien a las chicas, y al grupo 😊
They have yeonjung and exy and they are still underated i really want them to be more popular(im not shading the other members)
thank you thank you thank you ngl i’m in tears rn
i just wanted to let you know that how much i appreciate ur video as a ‘not quite fresh’ ujung
it’s like taking a trip down memory lane, despite not every step of wjsn being flower-covered
the decent pertinent details given in here is just rare, and i must say this profile even regarding their future and with newest updates about our situation and continuing as a unchanged 10-member group is one very rarely well said video
i’m lost for words, just simply thank you
We're very glad & touched you liked the video - let's cheer on WJSN in the future together! ❤️
I missed your videos!! Finally your back
Also i had idea that maybe you can do Glam, Exid or Hello Venus someday
Thank you very much for watching! We'll consider them, thank you! :)
Xuanyi was my favorite member everytime I saw her with the rest of members after 2018 would give me hope she and the other Chinese members would return it's really sad to see them go and not be mentioned until years later with their contracts ending
Yay, thank you for doing a video on WJSN! They have one of the best discographies in all of Kpop in my opinion💕
Thank you for watching! We agree ✨
I think each member representing a different zodiac is a cute idea but the fake birthdays thing is so weird, like they don’t need to have a fake birthday to represent a zodiac sign??
I love them sm i wish starship have them more consistent comebacks cause lately it’s been lackluster
Hope for the best for WJSN and Luda & Dawon in the recent & future~
My bias Eunseo, Soobin, Luda, Yeonjung.
As Ujung from 2016 i understand what you said in Video and YEAH since Starship losing Sistar they really promoting WJSN and Monsta X but in FINALLY Monsta X gaining more popularity than WJSN
Why Monsta X can release more album than WJSN? cause they are self producing Idol, they can make and producing songs together
For some bad communications it Starship stereotype, they doing same too to IVE recently when Wonyoung get lot of hate comment since debut in 2021
Also for diet, Starship is worsely for their Girlgroup not only WJSN but IVE too
Wonyoung has been bullied by haters cause of her height and it makes her so insecure to Food
Why WJSN only release 1 album since 2020? It cause Starship forcing them for Solo Project not as group again
But this is sad to me when their Boygroup actively promoting but not for WJSN
For fake Birthday cases, not only WJSN, i heard B1A4 agencies doing this too to follow the concept
So Starship and WM had some problem with this
For C-Line i think cause Yuehua cut the relationship with Starship but this is nonsense, right?
And sadly never making their Japanese debut or Japanese Tour, it makes WJSN name in overseas being forgotten
And before IVE there is no Starship Girlgroup debuting in Japan
As Ujung i'm only hope WJSN popularity never faded although this is 4th Generation era
Mistreatment from Starship in past i hope not happen to CRAVITY and IVE
I really fear IVE get some bad treatment after their BOOM in 2021-2022
And FYI, Soobin and Luda will redebut as Virtual Idol named Kim Serena and Keuang this May as member of FE:VERSE
Many Korean fans are just racist against Chinese people though, and that's still very much present to this day.
I would love to see you talk about Oh My Girl, since they renewed their contract, except for Jiho, but have not been active for quite some time :(
honestly despite dawon being my bias im glad shes cutting ties w the company... They've always managed them badly and often in inappropiate and creepy ways, I just hope the other members will be fine
i felt bad for the chinese members 😭
i love wjsn saurrrr much
2:43
Why do they all have the same hair color?
I am somewhat of a new fan. I discovered this group back in 2020. My first favorite song that I discovered them by was secret, and I’ve been obsessed since. My main problem other than not being able to fully sing the songs is that I have a very hard time telling the girls apart. I just wanted to know if that was intentional (by the company or agency they work for)
I’ve been a fan of WJSN since debut, I grew to love them all, my bias is yeonjung (mainly cause she looks like me) but I love them all!!!
Here's my take.
I just hope the 8 remaining members can get the proper care and attention since WJSN is a famous group, even people who arent ujungs now them since their songs and aesthetic are very etheral and memorable
no way people said luda is neglected when she probably have nonstop schedule especially since queendom ends.
@@bedry6512 F’real
@@gwenmloveskpopandmore i mean since queendom end she's permanent cast in kbs boss pet with banggu, then after the show end she got in girls reverse, and after this end she still gonna have her webdrama release soon and she even sing the ost too. and she still has some guest appearances in other shows too and also her chocome schedule.
yea. "VERY neglected"
@@bedry6512 yeah but we all gotta know the group is neglected as a whole cuz of Ive
WJSN also gained some fame after Dayoung appeared in the kdrama True beauty.
I enjoyed that! But I cried towards the end.
Ive loved them ever since that bicycle kick lol they work so hard but its always been them versus twice.
sse wasted the following:
1. the hype of wjsn on their queendom win
2. they made units during debut (wonder, joy, sweet, natural) but never used or utilized properly. they did chocome and black tho but they could've utilized the original units made.
3. the chinese members
4. wjsn as a whole.
Because they didn't deserve to win qd and starship knew it
And Yeoreum's hype on Queendom Puzzle! She's currently promoting as the leader of EL7Z UP. The other members are Kei, Yeeun, Yeonhee (Rocket Punch), Nana (woo!ah!), Hwiseo (H1-KEY) and Yuki (PURPLE KISS)
They are very talented group they r being wasted by the company 🤧💫
you should count views of mvs posted on 1thek and starshiptv
I just realized something you didn’t mention (probably because barely no one knew about it) so about that repackage after happy moment. It actually turned about to be just a single called “Kiss Me” released on July 14, 2017 but they didn’t promote it anywhere and it’s not even apart of their Wikipedia bio. Just a little fun fact ☺️
It wasn’t a single. It was a commercial song/film. That’s why they really didn’t promote it. It was for a mascara ad.
They have really good discography, most of their songs is popular too. But they're yet receive the recognition they should.
this video makes me wanna try stanning them again.. i love their music so much. these girls are amazing.
Wjsn could've given the trophy to the real winners, but they didn't 🤷♀️ sadly it have then a lot of hate, and I'm not surprised
Why would WJSN give the trophy to the "real winners"? No disrespect to Loona, I really pity their situation too; I think more could have been done for them, but at the same time you're just discrediting WJSN for something they have no power over.
it’s always a good day when searchingforelris posts
thank you for the support! ❤️
Hopefully they will have asian tour.
Waiting to see them
13:33 that's seola's fancam and not bona
Thank you, we already corrected it in the pinned comment! :)
It’s sad because Ot13 would really push through if the pandemic did not happen, the China-Korea relations did not become ugly and this could regain more fans and even push WJSN in China.
Excellent video!! ❤
I hope the Chinese members acknowledge the other members someday
Alice? Here I am!
Thank you for that.
thank you for this video ! from an ujung
Thank you for watching!
(by agressive promoting i don't mean a sudden influx with comebacks, sse just has to intensively promote their comebacks from radio shows to variety shows which helps in giving the song recognition)
also since the difference in albums between monsta x and wjsn were mentioned, it is important to note that after sistar disbanded in 2017 sse was in a limbo financially thus resulting to the sudden influx of albums that monsta x were releasing, from 2 comebacks average in 2015 and 2016 to 4 or 5 comebacks from 2017 to 2021. the guys were vocal about how sse are overworking them and this issue wasn't really resolved until they negotiated for their contracts. hopefully that new ceo they hired last year would actually put shidae back to his senses that overworking isn't a good thing nor is underworking beneficial. (wjsn's next comeback should definitely be a full album now though, let the songs made by the girls see the light!)
unnatural best era
My faves 😭
anyways guys go stream la la love
I love you using the korean names for the members but please do the same for the albums next time, DobleW Jay Stay ? was actually pronounced Would You stay?... It was a wordplay. Anyways. I love your videos😻😍💯
Thank you! And yes, we were told this after we published the video - no idea how we didn't notice, it's so obvious 😭🥹
@@searchingforelris Is okay, I also didn't notices until one of the press conferences😂 Konglish, Am I right?😍😅
girl if i was the chinese members i would not return to korea just to be paid dust for being a foreigner either
13:33 Seola actually, not Bona.
We corrected this mistake in the pinned comment already.

Aaaa tem legenda agora, obg pra quem legendou💜
I love this channel. A simple comment
Thank you very much!
Why did you not include their mv views in some of their songs like MoMoMo, Catch Me or Dreams Come True from Starship's yt channel?
There are statistics focused kpop videos on UA-cam if that is what is more important to you. This video is focusing on their story and achievements.
We should've done more research, we apologize.
@@HailToTheMeep yeah ik, I just wanted to point it out tho
@@searchingforelris it's okk, but I enjoy this video, thank you for sharing it!!
