I remember you had this issue in the past. This is a problem in some pairings and you can’t really do anything about it apart from placing turbosol in the water as a preemptive measure in smaller doses during breeding season.
I think this baby got canker virus from it's parents...during the first few days of feeding crop milk. Few months ago, i was also facing this canker problem with few babies...later i realised that all those canker affected babies got their first days of crop milk from one Particular pair. So this time i treated the pair, 2-3days before their egg got hacthed. I gave them 50mg of metronidazole each for 3-4days... And this time their babies come out fully healthy!
I'm pretty sure the little things that cause that are in all the pigeons anyway I think it's just stress or certain things that might set it off and it flared up you just have to manage it basically
Hi Kurt, sorry to see BB has cancer. For prevention give Emtryl once every 4 weeks just 25 persent of prescription and vitamin B Kompleks the next day for all your birds, when you are racing.
Thanks for sharing Maney, I hope the little pigeon gets better. I'm wondering if you've ever vaccinated your pigeons? I'm hooked to your channel so I've been watching a lot of your videos but it doesn't seem like you've mentioned it before. Thanks :)
No I haven't worried about vaccinating for the fact that I haven't really properly race in my birds don't mix with other birds and the doses for those coming lots of 100 so I think I will this year but I might have to go in hard with some friends and we can just share the vaccinations between all our birds because we won't have that many
@@ManeyPigeons Amazing, thanks for sharing your wisdom. You've been an inspiration to me to start a channel about pigeons, although my channel is more about the fancy pigeons. Thanks again :)
Hi Kurt, I used those same tabs for canker in one bird once and also used them for one eye cold and they work very good and fast in my opinion. I had to order mine from Spain.
Wee tip for canker removal.....get a red headed match stick remove canker from birds throat them rub red match stick around birds throat....but carry on with your meds in water.....sounds daft but does work
Yeah thank you I'm just learning along the way I never had to deal with this very much so the more the better I guess at the moment till I can figure out a good strategy to deal that in the future
Good morning kirt I agree coloured racing pigeons are a lot more work I have turbosole. It's very effective I will order that resperatory 4 + tabs I will put some in my water not much when parents are feeding young I suppose I don't need to tell you when I hit the likes button because you may already know that I did !
Thanks John yeah coloured birds are a lot of work but I find them far more rewarding and hopefully one day I can win a race with them that will be good show up a few of the coloured haters 😆😆😆
It’s very important before you breed pairs ... one of the things you should always do is prepare and treat pair for canker ... you should also know parents will transfer canker to babies ... and there’s canker that grows in there body that you can not see it ... also clean your floor daily ... don’t let your birds eat feed off poop floor ... clean and disinfect drinkers and feeders ... you should start giving your good birds PMV and PAR 30 days before your pair lays there first egg ... helps there immune system ... check there parents for canker ... take a pic next time so I can see if it is canker ...
Yeah I did check the parents soon as I seen in the babies but there was no sign of it in there I don't know if it's just the stress of a new pairing and it's just flat up in the babies but I'll definitely keep an eye on it and I do have turbosole and the DAC four in one treatment
Yeah I had the same result when I done it with my pied pigeon moo if you remember one dose of that knocked it right out the other baby in this is a little bit slower you will see in following video I guess it just depends case per case
Hi Kurt The parents are the carriers. One of them at least. They will pass it on through youngsters it will have to be kept in check now regularly. Use alternative canker treatments so they don't get immune to it
@@ManeyPigeons hi Kurt i don't know if you can get FLAGYL in Australia that is a great product to use to rotate with , it will neutralise every type of canker .Just seen Martin Robinson comment, he is correct i would also brush ink after scraping with a tiny paint brush. I remember Moo and how you treated her!😀 When my avatar pigeon Rudolf got ill, the vet said he'd need to take canker medication for at least 9 days (metronidazol) - and perhaps he did, since he only returned from the City Bird Clinic after 2 months (he'd had other issues too and he almost certainly took some probiotics after the treatment too) - but maybe there are medications for home use that might be pretty effective as well - like the one that worked for Moo😊🐦
I did a bit of checking online about those tablets, I have no experience in veterinary medicines. Interesting to learn about it. Although I treat humans with one antibiotics at a time, this has 4!. Interesting.... I would prefer topical ointments first before I jump into systemic medications... But I guess it's different for pigeon's!
i dont have canker problem.... but the recent issue i m.facing is one chick growing big and the other small... the first egg hatch 2 3 days before 2nd one
@@ManeyPigeons nope... i dont allow them to do that cuz i hate it when 1 chick grows huge leaving other to starve... but the one pair i have has this problem .. i ll show u the pics later u will see the difference
Give antibiotic and antiseptic meds and try to keep cages warm and dry and clean and shiuld get well soon and no mould and wet condition and sun should help too and proper veltilation prayers blessings
Yeah I just recently brought a massive big bottle of apple cider vinegar I might try and increase that just to try and manage it without having to use turbosole

Natural treatment. Whole black pepper seeds will work, 2-3 seeds, once application per week will definitely work. Works for on chicken also.
