Peter Finn I looked in my owners manual it says only use Toyota trans oil only otherwise damage may occur. Is this a scare tactic or to scare us to pay more for theirs only or should i use a good quality oil? And what other good quality oil should i use instead which should be good.Thanks.
OK,i'll get 1x cheapish Comma ATF trans oil and 2x ToyotaA TF .i'll drain 1st put in cheap (Comma) undo trans hose near radiator then put in the proper Toyota ATF,seems sensible.Cheers.
Hola e oido que ese aceite no se cambia en eaos autos que de cierto es 3l mio tiene ya rato y nunca le e cambiado el aceite de la transmicion hasta ahorita no da ningun fallo sera verdad
Most toyota gear oils have low viscosity, i am not sure u can use this kind of oil in toyota gearboxes. Usually they have high viscosity (around 15.0) when original toyota 75W MTF LV GL-4 oil has around 7.0 viscosity at 100 C. Maybe i am wrong but in my engine 1NR-FE u need to use low viscosity one(Toyota Auris 2013 model). Maybe your car is older and it is ok.
