You articulate the stories so well man . Earned a sub
Appreciate you, thank you! I'm glad you think so because most people tell me I sound drunk. 🤣
One of my favorite things about the ishin story.. Even though it had nothing to do with the story.. Was the chance to see more intersections and have mode fights between "kiryu" and "nishki"....
True. The "kiryu/nishiki" dynamic was one of the series strongest for sure.
The story is complicated yet straightforward. I think its based off real people. I always found this period of japan to be interesting because it marks the end of the shogun as well as japan beginning to work with other countries. I want them to remake Kenzan and judging by the success of Ishin they probably will, most likely after like a Dragon 8 and Gaiden.
Kenzan had a pretty interesting story as well. A remake of that would be cool since they did such a good job with ishin.
@@LaMuerteBlanca ive been going through video game burnout for the last 5 years and this game brought me back. im on xbox so a third party game based in futile japan, thats not sakiro die twice, is hard to come by.
Yeah it’s based off real people
Should've referred to the characters with their Yakuza names, would've been more fun :D
It’s super cool that they basically used the Yakuza character models for this story, Kazama is represented, Kiryu’s represented, Nishki is represented, Taiga is represented, every time I recognized a character I popped!
I’m sad I haven’t had a chance to play this game yet but I still look forward to this lol keep doing your thing fam!
Appreciate you! It's a great game. Definitely check it out when you get a chance.
THANK YOU! IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS VIDEO
Got you. Hope it was worth the wait.
@LaMuerteBlanca SPOILER WARNING it absolutely was. I really enjoyed your graph. I platinumed this game and still have a lot to learn about this Era of japan. Apparently the real life Sakamoto was assassinated at 32 :(
@@averyroquemore198 glad you enjoyed it. Ya even though sakamoto lived a short life, it was definitely a full one.
BLANCA BACK LIKE HE NEVER LEFT 🔥💯
That's love. Appreciate you fam!
It’s super cool that they used the Yakuza character models for this story! Everyone is insanely well represented and I popped anytime I recognized a character!!
Great vid
Thank you!
I still haven't played. Waiting on until i beat it to fully watch this. Just wanted to leave a like and a comment for algo
That's love, thank you. You the real mvp.
The historical Kondo Isami never got murdered but he was executed due to the assassination of Sakamoto Ryoma as well as being complicit in the rebellion against the new regime which happened to be the Meiji Emperor who managed to get Imperial Rule back after being sidelined for far too long by various shoguns who ruled Japan with an iron fist and a steel blade.
In other words, the Tokugawa Shogunate which was established by Tokugawa Ieyasu after the Battle of Sekigahara has been ended by the Choshu, Satsuma and Tosa Clans whose ancestors have been slighted by the Tokugawa because they backed the wrong dude (Ishida Mitsunari led the Anti-Tokugawa faction which aimed to protect the House of Toyotomi’s* authority from being usurped by Tokugawa Ieyasu).
*-Toyotomi Hideyoshi, Ieyasu’s contemporary, united Japan after centuries of heated civil war but he died, leaving his son and heir who was young at the hands of five trusted ministers who would temporarily rule Japan and help the heir until he grows up yet it’s a big time risk, especially with Ieyasu who would prefer to rule rather than spend another lifetime serving another lord!
I'm currently playing this game and it's so confusing knowing who's who, especially with all the differnet factions.
Nice work with your diagram, it was super helpful while watching!
Im surprised you could follow it 😅
Great Video. It was funny, I just finished the game yesterday.
Thanks! Glad you liked it. It really is a great game.
KNOCK KNOCK MOTHER**KAH!! Oh man that had me laughing. That was the best part.😂😂😂
Whenever I start one of these games and get a few hours in, I always come to watch the beginning of your videos just to make sure I am understanding it correctly so far. There is always so much shit going on in these games.
Especially the beginning. They throw so much at you all at once. Glad i can help.
I got like 20 percent through the story and stopped playing the game for like a few months so I'm pleased to catch back up with the game. Thanks dude.
awesome!
I love Ishin !
I started play the Ishin ! this monday.
I love Edo period. My ancestor is upper class samurai and part of daimyo's family.
That's awesome you have a familial connection. Enjoy the game!
LETS GO Ishin Baby Super Excited for This one!!
Hope you enjoy it!

I guess with the heavy resemblance, each character is a Yakuza ancestor.
More like they reused assets to make the story more relatable series fans. That would be pretty awesome if they could somehow tie the ancestry into the canon.
@@LaMuerteBlanca it makes alot of sense since if you explored Yakuza 3 and found Sakomoto's notebooks on sword training and Kiryu can use those tricks in his heat actions. So it is tied together in a way.
@@Ron_Keffer that is true 🤔
@@LaMuerteBlanca Saejima can also find a wood carving of Sakomoto in the Pawn shop in Yakuza 4, giving him the sword training.
3:15 lmaooo
Like the video said, all historically accurate...maybe...probably not. 🤣🤣
2/3s through the story and I’m still wondering if the eyepatch was passed down generations to Majima
Imagine?! 🤣 that would make for a legendary side quest in any of the modern day games.
26:29-26:34 rIGHT????? Takechi is just a someone you should say "Fuck Off"
I love the fact that they used the Yakuza Characters for this game & i learned to Love Soji/Majima and the rest of the Yakuza Cast, it was my first game of the series
27:03-27:07 Change of heart is always a better option when you compare it to murder lol.
except for ninjas, that part is fictional. even Japan ran with the western interpretation, but in truth a ninja the way their portrayed in movies and games is a myth. the Samurai did exist, but a Samurai was known for more than just using a sword. however a soldier that was part of the Shogunate, those are the guys in armor.
but there was another type of Samurai, and they were warrior types.
Sakamoto Ryoma is a warrior type, well some come up with different stories. some games for example will portray him, from a ninja clan, but the Tokugawa clan wasn't a clan of ninjas, they were an army. a Samurai army, but one that learned how to western handguns as a second weapon.
alot of this game is based on history, but not how the whole story plays out.
Thomas Glover was a real guy
Yes. He founder the Kirin Beer Company after the end of Edo period.
@@Ayaki6166 i didnt know he started a beer company, but I commented that cuz it sounds like muerte blanca thought he was made up for the game
Everyone in the game was real if I remember right. Just that here they look and sound like yakuza characters
@@thechadandthevirgin5823 i know that
@@thechadandthevirgin5823 im hyperfixated on the bakumatsu era
Killing enemies is rare in the yakuza games but i thought it was even crazier that you kill story characters in the game.
He's not really kiryu so it doesnt count. 🤣
@@LaMuerteBlanca still think it's crazy. Can't wait for like a dragon gaiden.
yakuza fan
handsome tbh
lol 25 hour? it took me 65 hour to complete the story XD
25 hours is the minimum if you rush through it according to how long to beat's website. That's why i always say 25+ hours.
Japanese names are super easy, pronounce every vowel, most of the vowels are open, take each word like there is a rhythm to how you say it (it’s a syllabic language).
