    Superb detailed explanation. I've seen so many bad reviews for this product saying the pins bend but they're obviously not using the correct method. Or watching this video first!

    I was going to buy an unbranded Chinese chain splitter from eBay for about £14 but after watching your video I think I'll pay the extra for the Link Monkey. Excellent demonstration of the tool Pete, the very best I've seen so far on UA-cam. Now on to Part 2 . . . 😄

    Brilliant Explanation!! Going to buy this tool as been looking at cheaper ones but you sold it for me! I take it I can use this method to split the old chain off?...if so will back wheel need to be removed (plan to fit sprockets anyway)

      At some point you'll have to take the wheel out, but splitting the chain (and riveting) will be a lot easier while the chain is still on the bike as it is held in place allowing you to use both hands to fit the tool up to the chain. Remember to grind the head of the rivet down, on the master link, before you try to push it out.

      Cheers mate, new sprockets and chain just arrived aswell as the tru tension monkey chain splitter/rivot...I have my grinder to hand so I'll defo grind the head first! Got the bike on paddock stands so should be good...will be watching your video whole process! Cheers again mate
