2022 PROTON X70 1.5 TGDi Driven - KL-Desaru, One Tank? | Preview Drive

The PROTON X70 has been quite the hit since launch, and it's succeeded in transforming PROTON's image from a purveyor of cheap cars to a company that offers high-value well-priced and well-judged products. The X50 has picked up where the X70 left off and furthered that trend, turning PROTON into Malaysia's #1 SUV brand.
But the X70 is getting long in the tooth and as a result, the Tg. Malim brand thought it wise to update the model. Not with new technology or new looks, but a brand new engine in an attempt to improve fuel economy (by some 7%).
So we drove it from KL to Desaru to see if their claims are all hot air, or if they genuinely hold water.
