Having tested both, the 1.8 feel like a gt version of x70, compared to the 1.5
Your quote at 10:20 about 1.5TGDi Engine oil using fully synthetic is quite baffling as X70 1.8TGDi is also using a fully synthetic Shell branded oil. I think you meant to say that the 1.5TGDi engine oil sourced from Petronas is of a newer GF6A specs while the older specs is still used for the Shell branded oil both.

User friendly
The decision to streamline the drivetrain offering across the X70 and X50 ranges is a smart business move to simplify manufacturing and supply chain, although it might not be the upgrade or refresh the X70 needs after almost 5 years since launch. Still a good car, still supremely competent especially given the asking price... but I wonder what's on the horizon in 1-2 years' time...
I don't get why the 1.5t motor would be an issue. The CR-V is 1.5 also, heck the Tiguan is1.4L. So if if it's a non issue for the competition it's a non issue the 1.5t X70.
Shouldnt be an issue but mostly because it is 3cylinder engine..but bmw 1.5 engine also 3cylinder i guess..

Honda 1.5 is more refined cos it's a 4 cylinder. X70 1.5 is 3 cylinder
Thats the key point. 61 db. Wish next one the give option 1.5 for pano roof and retune the engine to get the same hp and torque as 1.8 model.
When they deplete the 1.8 drivetrain in their supply chain inventory, they'll probably do that. But by that time, this 1st gen X70 will be needing a complete refresh already.
same fuel consumption test, the 1.8L car run for 1.51h for 109.4km, but the 1.5L car run only 1.44h for 109.2km; different driving time of 7 minutes mean 1.5L driving at higher speed?

true, perodua FC indicator is much accurate for me, my iriz 1.3 CVT shows 6.3l/100km but the real figure is 7.2-8 L/100km depend on road type

@@tarbybahbell4086 did your sa give you the chassis number yet? Cause mine was ready, so once confirmed they give the chassis number and send from tanjung malim (1week) and in my case mine was a pre reg unit to get ssm rebate. So they need another week to bring to puspakom and change name to mine.
@@ethanwong3556 nope haven't received any chasis number yet, that's worrisome. And I'm from ipoh so means tanjung malim would be quick enough to arrive here than anywhere. Gotta ask the sa on Monday what's wrong with it.

Engine sama dgn X50 Flagship 1.5 TGDI. Power output pun sama (177PS) Cuma X70 1.5 lebih berat (1620 kg) berbanding X50 (1390 kg) Kalau drag race dgn X50, mmg X70 kena tinggal haha
Tapi dari segi comfort memang X70 tersangat comfort compare to X50. Badan tak sakit bila travel for long distance. X50 sit utk driver, penyandar kepala macam menolak kepala kedepan. Kita akan rasa lenguh di leher
Proton X70 design is for uncle and his family. Power is not the most important part. As long as it has an adequate power, comfort and spacious than uncle will happy. He won't go for Drag race anywaym

@@csy6112 it costs like rm264 from youtube I saw yesterday. Depends on 1.5 or 1.8. For 1.8 it would be cheaper before 20000km and 1.5 would be slight higher only. My first car mazda did service on the first 1000km and they changed the oil and gasket.
