      Hi, this is currently available on amazon for 87k. Is this still a good value for money 2 in 1? Zenbook 14 Flip 2023 has a P series chip. This one has H series which will probably give better performance. As battery life of around 5 hours is enough for me I am inclined towards this. Curious to know your thoughts as well as you seem to also have shortlisted this one.

    • @TechThatOut
      @TechThatOut  Рік тому

      Hey @Pahadi Avtar , thanks reaching out.
      The H series is performance oriented. So expect the laptop to hit its thermal limit sooner or listen to noisy fans kick in. The chip does throttle as well. If you want to go with the higher variant, I cannot promise it will be a better experience since the 12500H itself is throttling after a certain point. If you value short bursts of peak performance & its useful for the usage you have, please go ahead with 12700H. For any other purpose, I would suggest sticking to the lower variant especially given the price.
      Hope this helps! If you are buying the laptop from Amazon, would appreciate using the affiliate links to support the channel at no added cost to you 😁

      Hey @DarkHor$e , thanks reaching out.
      You are right about the H series being performance oriented. Note that in 2023 models (13th gen CPUs) are a hybrid architecture so the P series is the new performance oriented CPUs for thin & light laptops. I have personally not used any 13th Gen machine but as per few other reviews, Windows fails to assign light tasks to efficiency cores & heavy tasks to performance cores. Hope that these are fixed with Windows Updates and custom firmware. I cannot suggest in the latest series as I did not use them so will refrain from potentially misguiding you.
      Hope this helps
      87k for the reviewed Laptop is definitely a great deal! Definitely recommend it at that price. If you do purchase from Amazon, would appreciate using the affiliate links to support the channel at no added cost to you 😁

    I am planning on getting this laptop, but I have some concerns about the battery life. Could you please tell me how the battery life is if you turn the resolution to 1920x1080 and set the HDR on at 90Hz?
    I understand that having the E core in the 13th Gen makes the battery life much better, but I'm debating if that extended battery life is worth spending the extra 20-25k

      any two in one laptop will have this. some are less than others but its there. the only reason it does wobble because the hinges are loss to have a smooth opening laptop till the 360 mode, but hear me out you have open up the laptop [will avoid warranty] and increase the hinge tension. but i dont recommend it at all i tried it and actually the factory hinge tension is perfect

      Not really sure. As the size is a little different. But build wise I trust Asus more. I reviewed the HP Envy x360 2 years ago and a month back, the hinge broke. Not only did it cost 26k just for that but it also took close to 2 months to get it done.

      I am not sure as I didn't use an iPad with a pencil.
      This is more responsive than other touchscreen Windows machines I used primarily because of the 90Hz refresh rate I believe.

    • @m0shtik
      @m0shtik Рік тому +5

      Hi, I don't really like the drawing/writing experience here. It feels strange, the pen tip wobbles, sometimes it lags or doesn't register the pen while drawing. There's quite a big gap between the display and the pen. Palm rejection is not the best. And I couldn't figure out how to get the tilt working. After getting all the windows updates, drivers and newest firmware, the experience went from "absolutely horrible" to "usable" but it's still not great compared to Samsung S8 tablet. On the other hand, I was quite pleasantly surprised by the pen latency - it's not as bad as I thought it would be. But the other unexpected problems make the whole experience not that nice.
      Also, there is a magnet on the back of the screen to hold the pen (it's not very strong but at least it's there). And the laptop is too heavy to use as a tablet.
      Unfortunately I also bumped into huge amounts of software issues, eg. not being able to show the taskbar, system being laggy, disconnecting from the internet at times, animations being choppy, battery drains from 100 to 25% over night while in sleep mode etc. It's probably possible to fix all of those issues but the initial experience with the device is definitely not the best.

      Hi again. I've been using this zenbook for a while now. Some issues got resolved while others I learned to live without. I also had the possibility to compare the new iPad with Samsung tablet and my rating would be iPad > Samsung > pen and paper > mud and stick > Asus. In terms of note taking or drawing. Still waiting to get my hands on the Microsoft Surface with the pen.
