I just love to sit down with a nice cup of tea and listen to my favorite legendary dwarf wordsmith tell me about all the lore of Eastern Europe and all sorts of worlds across time and space.
You're the best Bordo. I'm an American and I cannot express how difficult it is to find tales of mythology that aren't heavily sensationalized and skewed by popular ideas. Its wonderful to live in a time when you can hear these traditions and stories expressed from people who grew up with them and actually live in the lands these myths were forged. You're helping bring our world closer together Bordo ❤🌎🌍
Gamarjoba! A great respect from Ukraine! Incredible seeing that over there in Georgia you also had your stories appropriated in Christianity For us it was easter (which was the fertility celebration) and you can still see the symbols in Paskas and red painted boileed eggs
thats the same in all of Eastern Europe, we celebrate Easter much the same, with red eggs and Paska. Much love from Georgia, we all feel your struggle and I feel terrible I cant do much to help out other than support the cause!
Both share indo-European ancestry, but can also be a universal idea as we can find similar notions in American Indian mythology too, especially the Aztec and Maya. That whole 2012 scare was about the end of the old age and start of the new in mayan calendar.
I enjoyed your dive into Jason and the Argonauts. I would love to see you do a series of videos presenting Georgian history and mythology. I was fascinated by Georgia's connection to Greek mythology and the broader world when I was there, like learning that the golden fleece was a real thing - it was how Kolchians "mined" gold.
Excellent video as always! Probably my favorite example of the cycle of fall and restoration is the Zelda franchise. Especially breath of the wild and tears of the kingdom. I love how instead of focusing on the tragedy and the fall, the games focus on beauty and rebirth of nature.
Mr Bordo. I am working on a fantasy novel (I'm an amateur) where the main focus is on a civilization loosely based on the Thracian and Caucasian peoples. Your videos are everything I needed to get inspired further. Thank you sir.
I'm currently writing My own fantasy world and i decided to take inspiration from Georgian mythology and geography to write My dwarven society. Your videos are helping me a Lot. I never thought that Georgian society could be that deep and ancient.
I'll be sure to delve deeper. I'm planning a fantasy Anthropology series where I build up Dwarves elves and Ogres/Orks from stone age throughout evolution of their culture into more recognisable modern selves but with more twists
@@thebordoshow cant wait to see how that turns out. I would love to see the biffurcation of those races and the philogenetic groups and subgroups that start appesring when societies diversify
Would it be possible to add chapters to your Rambleogs where you talk about different stories? Mostly so I can remember what the story's name is so I can read about it more latter ^w^

It's interesting to see that the notion of more or less pure ages of Greek civilization is also present in Hinduism

Interesting idea to constantly re-shape stories, if only I was a better creator I might know how to re-shape them
