Hell no. JJ fucked those up big time. He messed up what Star Trek is about, advancing and believing in peace as a species. His are action packed, meaning there IS no peace.
Totally agree. Abrams seemed to think that Trek needed to be a series of action films that completely ignored its origins, and ultimately the whole reason it existed. The 2009 film in particular should be offensive to all Trek fans.
I get that too. It often gives me goosebumps. Or the music will just stop me in my tracks. You're not the only one! It is an emmy winning orchestral score by Jerry Goldsmith! It moves you. It's ok. Welcome to the club. 😊
If you watch (or re-watch) the actual opening theme of Star Trek Voyager, this themesong fits it perfectly, because it feels exactly like the Voyager crew trying to find their way back to mother earth from being stranded in a barely-charted region of the galaxy, 70,000 light years away, a voyage that would normally take them about 75 years at their fastest warp speed. It seems very gloomy and hopeless, but also hopeful at the same time.
@@bobrobertson3558 Nice analysis of theme song and background. Been watching the entire series on Netflix. Love this theme!! One of the most underrated theme songs ever.
Jerry Goldsmith just knew how to compose the best orchestral themes. What a masterpiece. Star Trek has given us so much beautiful music over the years. I really don't care for the modern tripe. But at least we had Voyager. Jerry was a genius. Bravo.
For me, Voyager is most like Star Trek the original series and is really my favorite non original version of the franchise. It most closely, in my opinion, matches it. The lighting on the ship seems more similar. Next Gen's ship seemed to be fluorescent bright all the time. Voyager was lit somewhat dimly as the original Enterprise was. Them being in the Delta quadrant gave more a feeling of them being alone in the expanse of space much like the original series because Starfleet hadn't become so crowded yet.
I like this interpretation of Voyager. The show got so bashed but all those bashers still watched it. Certainly I never met a Trek fan at the time (late 90s) Voyager was airing that vehemently disliked it as much as they claim to now.
the plot lines they gave the episodes with her in them were more enjoyable for some reason. maybe the writers changed at some point. overall, voyager was good but there was definite better episodes once 7 of 9 became a regular character. except for the borg kids. I could have done without those.
for me its neelix. i dont know why. he lost all of his family, was traumatized and confronted with the emptyness of death and yet still is such a heartwarming character.
When I hear this - Cast your sails there's no turning back now--- Thats what Star Trek is truly about!! This series just gives you a reminder of just that!
Star Trek Voyager is my favorite Star trek Series...even more that “TOS” All the Starfleet Captains were Bold, brash, confident, intelligent, exciting and great decision makers..........However there is one thing Captain Janeway brought to the crew and stressed, not only are we discoverers, not only are we crew members , but we are F A M I L Y !! And that for me is a game changer in leadership........If I could serve on any Starfleet Ship under one Captain it would be Voyager and Captain Janeway.........Period !
I don't know why but to this day it evokes a deep emotion out of me and almost brings me to tears I think it's one of the best themes ever written and I can't wait to hear it again and again and again
As a big fan of TNG, this is by far the best theme song of any ST series. Maybe of all sci-fi tv. You couldn't possibly communicate "I'm coming home" any better by any medium.
I was in the school band & to play this piece as incredible as this orchestra almost moves me to tears !! LOL'S... p.s.- listen to this with good headphones, AAAAAAAAWESOME !!! LOL'S
List of my all time favorite Star Trek masterpieces: - TV Series Star Strek: Strange New Worlds - Movie Star Trek (2009) - Best Captain Jean-Luc Picard. -Best catchphrase Capt. Jean-Luc Picard’s “Make it so!” - Best Theme Song Star Trek Voyager
To compliment CCTV9's comment, this is without a doubt, the best of the Star Trek musical themes. Even beating the original Alexander Courage theme for Star Trek, The Original Series. The only Star Trek TV series theme written by Jerry Goldsmith, it seems to imply "hope" and "family" whilst soaring at one level and remaining romantic throughout. Dare I say it, Captain Janeway is written all across this musical piece. The opening credit sequence for "Star Trek - Voyager" remains one of the best, if not THE best in TV history.
Agree wholeheartedly!! Goldsmith's masterpiece is so infectious, with each listen while viewing this whole series on Netflix, we never skip this theme, an all-timer.
There are certain musical pieces that tug at your heart strings and fill your soul with joy and this is one of them. By far the best Star Trek theme of all time 😊
Great theme, Always loved Goldsmith's music for Trek. Have been watching Voyager on BBCam lately and enjoying it. Never realized how good Kate M. is on that show, Her eyes alone are so expressive.
I only began watching voyager because of Kate mulgrew, And her character “red” in OITNB. Shes my favorite. Now im addicted to star trek voyager. Im watching for the fourth time already 😂
vayaCD ; I lost count after about 7 cycles!!! End game always gets me!!! I’ve seen all series, all seasons, and all episodes at least 4 times each. Voyager though has become somewhat of an obsession 😱
I would love to see a series with all the original cast that is still alive because it would be called "After Voyagers Return" so it would show what happened to the ship after it returned from the delta quadrent and stuff like that, and at the end of series it shows voyager getting blown up or scrapped
This is a beautiful, heroic, grandiose theme song. It goes beautifully with the visuals in the show's introduction. Jerry Goldsmith penned a short classic.
First, the picture of Seven' s face must be that of a mirrors reflection because her eye device is on the wrong eye. When you look at her it's on your right. Second, you did an absolutely amazing job presenting this song. I listened to a couple before I got to you and there are NO comparison at all. Yours has the depths of the original and no tinny sound. Kudos to you! In addition, you clearly love these characters as I do. I finally sprung for the complete DVD set and love it. This Emmy award winning music always struck me and reeled me in. Thanks again for such an awesome presentation! 😉🤗 Best ST song ever!!
I've lately been able to watch it again, since my husband discovered "H&I" on cable, and I've changed my rankings of my favorite STs: for a long, long time, ST:TNG was by far my favorite, and in fact, when Voyager first came on, I was all "meh," but my family kept watching it, and I finally warmed up to it -- and thankfully, it can be found on Paramount+ so I can watch the first half-season that I missed a good deal of; really don't recall much at all about how they wound up way the hell out in the Delta Quadrant! But I've decided that Voyager is by far my favorite of all the STs; followed by ST:TNG, then TOS, then DS9. I watched one episode of Enterprise, but I kept expecting Bakula to bugger off... I mean, quantum leap to elsewhen. 😜 Mulgrew is absolutely fandamntastic as Cap. Janeway, and this music, oh man, what brilliant, breathtaking music. And I saw above that someone else perceived Voyager as I do -- much more faithful to TOS, since they're out there in the Delta quadrant, far from home, far from anyone who's ever been in the Alpha quadrant... except the damn Borg, of course. I've also lately been watching TOS and ST:TNG again, sincethey're also on H&I... but Picard's "where no one has gone before" is only SLIGHTLY better and less arrogant than Kirk's "where no man has gone before." Humans are so damn arrogant! At least Picard's version isn't sexist, but it's "racist" in the true meaning of that word: as if the human race is the only one that counts! That's right up there with the ignorant belief that Columbus "discovered" America (which a great many "native" Americans and even some scandinavians would dispute, along with, probably, some Polynesians and Chinese). If they'd wanted to get it right, it should have been "where no HUMAN has gone before." Any alien race that may be out there would be well advised to NEVER make contact with beings as backward and xenophobic as humans!
What Star Trek proved from the very beginning (and it did so brilliantly) was that we can have anyone of any creed in any position. It didn't matter what you looked like. What the Kurtzmen stuff did was tried to force it we didn't need things to be jerrymandered we just needed more Star Trek and that was it.
I loved this theme. I loved all the TNG-era themes but this one the most. I also find I imagine the Voyager noises even when they're not there, especially at the end when in the main titles it goes to warp. Lovely music.
i believe in the future and what it has to bring. i beleive we will be this way about 2599 and instead we will have acomplish many things we see i recall in my time there were no cell phones and yet here we are with devices that came from these films. the future is to dream and achieve and hopefully we will have world peace with a new objective in life for all those that dream .
I used to have a full set of made up lyrics to this theme back in the day. I can’t remember much of them now, but the main notes had the words “Carry on Voyager.”
Name mistakes I've noticed: Emergency Doctor Hologram, should be Emergency Medical Hologram or just call him Doctor. Tuvoc needs to be fixed to Tuvok. Other than that great job on the video.
I had a tradition years ago when I started a trip I would always play "Born to Be Wild". Nowadays I think playing the t heme to Star Trek Voyager might be a good change of pace.
My favorite of all the themes. I immediately picture an old sailing ship coming into her home port out of a thick fog bank. But I'm a Navy Vet, so go figure!🤣 🤫 But DS9 is my favorite series. 😉
This is the best Trek theme song.
Star Trek (the new films) is better!!!!
*****
Exactly. Voyager and Deep Space Nine are the TV shows that keep the Star Trek series the way they are remembered.
Absolutely agree. The concept of Star trek was dangerous and having it be destroyed was a better realization to allow it to continue.
I cry every time I hear this. I don't know why, it's just pretty.
TheNekoMimiGamer it reminds me of my dad
I Cry because I REALLY Want To Re-Watch Voyager
I get that too. It often gives me goosebumps. Or the music will just stop me in my tracks. You're not the only one! It is an emmy winning orchestral score by Jerry Goldsmith! It moves you. It's ok. Welcome to the club. 😊

I adore this theme song. Brings tears to my eyes. It symbolizes Voyager’s journey in the DQ. Not to mention having an awesome cast!
So true
Goggle the orchestra a joy
Jerry is the best star trek composer!!!! As we miss the music that gave us the great maestro of always Jerry GOLDSMITH.
I always got goosebumps when listening to this song.
jakesloganjakeslogan me too
Always!
I absolutely love this music. I sometimes watch the star trek just for the music
I thought I was the only one. Its a beautiful piece.
GOOSEBUMPS!!!! RIP MR GOLDSMITH. YOU DID GREAT AND YOUR LEGACIES SHALL REMAIN
Kate Mulgrew was a great captain; idc what anyone says, she nailed it.
also, before anyone says anything, my eyes are just not used to the warm environment in this room, it is cold outside.
Certainly superior to the 1st choice as Captain.
Best STAR TREK series of all. Period.
Exactly
This is the only theme song I listen to every time I watch the series on DVD without skipping. Best one.
Jerry Goldsmith just knew how to compose the best orchestral themes. What a masterpiece. Star Trek has given us so much beautiful music over the years. I really don't care for the modern tripe. But at least we had Voyager. Jerry was a genius. Bravo.
I miss when Star Trek was THIS good!
This was a big part of my childhood. Voyager may be a little ship but it has the biggest place in my Star Trek heart.
Oh the Memories this theme evokes are wonderful! 90's trek really was the best.
For me, Voyager is most like Star Trek the original series and is really my favorite non original version of the franchise. It most closely, in my opinion, matches it. they are bitching but in reality they will watch it no matter what , in short it is the nature of human
the TOS enterprise was NEON bright. i have no idea what you are talking about.
This was my wife's music to walk down the aisle. Very special to us both.
Best music to walk down the aisle to! Did anyone wear a starfleet uniform?
lol
I was between 5 and 11 when this aired. The Doctor and Janeway were my favorite characters, I liked Seven of Nine too.
the plot lines they gave the episodes with her in them were more enjoyable for some reason. maybe the writers changed at some point. overall, voyager was good but there was definite better episodes once 7 of 9 became a regular character. except for the borg kids. I could have done without those.
for me its neelix. i dont know why. he lost all of his family, was traumatized and confronted with the emptyness of death and yet still is such a heartwarming character.
I was 11 when the first episode aired. I'll forever be a Trekie not because of Enterprise, or Deep Space 9, but because of Voyager.
This and the theme to Stargate SG-1 always brings those good old late 90's memories.
Brings back some nostalgia and goose bumps.
best theme music for any show
My favourite Star Trek series. I love it. Good old memories...
I love this song, still listening to it in 2019.a beautiful piece of music
As a big fan of TNG, this is by far the best theme song of any ST series. Maybe of all sci-fi tv. You couldn't possibly communicate "I'm coming home" any better by any medium.
Best Star trek theme. Best Star Trek series.

I love Voyager's theme. I also liked the series.
Voyager has the best theme amongst all of the incarnations of Star Trek. ;)
Mr. Goldsmith has captured the spirit of humanity in this glorious theme, which brings me to tears every time I hear it, as well...
Good luck getting this out of your head.
theme has a naval sound and all the star treks were naval in feeling!
Fabulous theme music. By far the best of any of the Star Trek franchises.
The best Star trek series theme song and one of the best television theme songs ever..!!
I love this. So astronomical.
There are certain musical pieces that tug at your heart strings and fill your soul with joy and this is one of them. By far the best Star Trek theme of all time 😊
The best theme of any of the Star Treks!! Thank you SO much for posting it...

what a amazing serie what a amazing soundtrack one of the best series ever
Voyager will always be my number one star trek series
Star Trek Voyager is now 25 years old. Amazing.
Majestic!!!
The theme music to Voyager is absolutely beautiful.

Best ST song ever!!
I feel like the person that made this video loves Voyager as much as I do after 20 years, the very first time they wat gws it.
The subtle flute underneath the main French horn compliment each other so well.
Voyager will always have a warm place in my heart. I was my first introduction to Star Trek.
Thank you very much for uploding this. Lovey Music
I think the Voyager song is so cool and one my favorite star trek s
My favorite too. When binge watching i never skipped intro.
ME TOO!!!

Beautiful!
Havent seen a single episode of voyager but u know this theme from when my mum watches it doen stairs
The best Star Trek theme for my money. OK, it's more or less a straight Bruckner knock-off, but it's a bloody good one.
Beautiful tribute and wonderful drawing at the end!

Emergency doctor hologram??? Nononono :P
I thought it was EMH - Emergency Medical Hologram
Dr joe
Lord Schweizer
their are many movies that have very beautiful music. this is also one of them..
my childhood favourite Star Trek but Star Trek Voyager "elite force" is what introduced me to the show
This gave me chills
When I was a kid we used to watch Voyager on Saturday nights while eating dinner before family movie nights
I love it so much. 😭
I never watched an episode but i used to arrive on the channel, knowing it was ending, just so I could hear this theme
I loved this theme. I loved all the TNG-era themes but this one the most. I also find I imagine the Voyager noises even when they're not there, especially at the end when in the main titles it goes to warp. Lovely music.

Conveys strength. Powerful the theme
Such a gorgeously sad theme...yet still triumphant.
I was never that fond of the series but the theme tells the story of such grim determination to get home. And hope.
I am man but I cry during this melody too... Don't know why.
This is more or less a straight steal from Bruckner's soundworld. But it isn't just plagiarism, it's a tribute of the best kind. Love it.
Truly wonderful and epic theme song. Would’ve made for a great movie opening. If we would’ve gotten a Voyager Big Screen treatment.
My mother just asked if I was listening to Mussorgski
I used to have a full set of made up lyrics to this theme back in the day. I can’t remember much of them now, but the main notes had the words “Carry on Voyager.”
Name mistakes I've noticed: Emergency Doctor Hologram, should be Emergency Medical Hologram or just call him Doctor. Tuvoc needs to be fixed to Tuvok.
Other than that great job on the video.
Holodoc works too
All those subtitles are, as if no one of us has ever seen the show...
The best theme of the Trek retreads. I admit to loving French Horns.
My favourite tune.
i would vote for this to be some sort of battle music in a star trek game where you use the Intrepid class
i would vote to make this song the hymn of the earth.
I'm having this as my funeral intro/outro, haven't decided which yet.
Oh Voyager, my first Star Trek love ❤️
I LOVE THIS!!!!
My favorite series is actually Deep Space 9, but Voyager's theme is just... majestic
Awww the goosebumps
I had a tradition years ago when I started a trip I would always play "Born to Be Wild". Nowadays I think playing the t heme to Star Trek Voyager might be a good change of pace.
I loved when they played this subtly in Star Trek Picard
---Spoiler---
whenever Seven appeared in Episode 9
I love it.
My favorite of all the themes. I immediately picture an old sailing ship coming into her home port out of a thick fog bank. But I'm a Navy Vet, so go figure!🤣
🤫 But DS9 is my favorite series. 😉
what a music. mega.
Seven Of Nine 😍😍😍😍
Magnificooooo
