  • The main difference between the Electric and Air Impact Wrench is that the former is used on regular nuts and bolts while the latter is for stuck and rusted bolts. The power source is different, too: an electric impact wrench requires electricity to function, while an air impact wrench needs compressed air.

This is a poor title for this video. When you say "electric", you're including AC as well as DC impact drivers. Call it "cordless" instead. I was looking for a video that compares the torque of corded impact drivers vs. Air. We all know that battery operated impact drivers can not out do corded especially if a variac is used.

The best part of that there are battery impacts that are almost as good as pneumatic now lol

I know corded impacts usually have lower torque than battery units though 🪫 🔋 🧃

@@RealwaltersobchakYes I agree, I recently bought a Dewalt 20V that is pretty amazing. But you can nearly double the torque of a corded by using a variac. An electrical engineer showed me that trick. Not good for longer torque cycles but short ones, it's hard to beat. That would mean you're giving it more than 110V. Too long and. you're burning the windings. Short bursts only.
