Hi Anthony! A Teacher is born - not made. You're born with a GIFT cutting the trash and getting straight to the point. You are an excellent teacher! That is why I am subscribed to your channel. I struggled to use the Pen Tool, but you made it look easy. Thanks
I have commented before - - it is so refreshing to find a photography tutor without an ego and braggadocio personality. You are actually interested in what we learn and you do such a wonderful job of explaining things simply and precisely-I have subscribed to your channel an while I sit in my bed recovering from a knee replacement I will be your captive audience. I’ll try to complete your series on Lightroom CC and all of Photoshop. Thanks again for making your fans better photographers and post production editors.
Hi Anthony, Great videos as usual. You may want to let viewers know that Adobe have reversed the shift key on the Transform tool(2021). Now when you use the Transform tool the default is that any change will be proportional. To access "Free" Transform you now have to hold down the shift key, if you want to be able to transform to any (non-proportional) dimensions. Its great isn't it? Just when you are getting your head around something, they bloody well go and change it!!
Hi Anthony. As a newbe, I just wanted to say that I really appreciate the fact that you slow down for us as I find the majority of youtube videos move much to rapidly for me. They are also much to wordy. You are an excellent teacher! That is why I am subscribed to your channel. You take the stress out of learning. Do you have any videos on troubleshooting Photoshop/LrC. If not, is that something you would consider doing and would it be worthwhile to you? If any one reading this comment, would like Anthony to consider doing such a video, please let him know. Cheers all
Your videos are incredible..i learned how to use Lightroom by watching your videos. Now i'm learning how to use Photoshop by again following your videos. Anthony you are an amazing instructor. Your explanation of the various tools of PS and LR is such that you make what appears complicated very simple and easy to follow. Thank you!
Thank you so much Anthony for yet another great tutorial series. I learned everything about LR from your video's. And now, for some new projects I need to master PS as well. I am really inspired by this series and I'm sure I will get there, because of your great teaching skills!
I just recently purchased PS & LR and now I'm wanting to learn how to use both. Luckily I stumbled across this channel. I watched this video and learned a lot and subscribed. Could you please do a tutorial on how to best edit AEB photos ?
Thanks for another fine tutorial that keeps it simple. I think I'm finally beginning to understand Photoshop a little. I also made a contribution via PayPal so you can keep this up.
Thank you, Tony. Your videos always teach me something that I haven't known before. I know that you are enough of a gentlemen to ignore troll-talk like the nonsense down below. He seems to still be in the film age, so why worry about what he thinks (assuming he's thinking).
Hi Anthony - Great job as always Around 5:00 you say Cmd or Ctrl + but the screen shows Cmd =. Probably because they are the same key. It is something to watch out for in future videos. Thanks again for all the fine content you produce.
Great videos! One request- I'm watching on an iPad, so it is very difficult to see the things you click on around the PS border. Is it possible to magnify the areas you are clicking in? Thanks!
Very nice. How do you mix LR within the PS program and use it at the same. I would like know to import this technique since I saw it in your beginning page. Thank you.
Anthony, thanks for doing this! I was following along and at 15:10, you hit DELETE to remove pixels. When I got there and hit DELETE, I got a Fill box, and none of the options offered to delete my pixels like yours did. What do you think I have set differently?
I saw the answer below, but I am not on a padlocked layer. Just now, when I tried it again, DELETE (which shows in History as Clear) didn't do anything (except make an entry in History). I don't think it is a keyboard mapping thing, because I found Edit / Clear, which also didn't do anything. When I tried Copy, it said "the selected area is empty" even though I can see the marching ants. I'm a beginner, so I'm sure I'm just missing something.
This may help someone. I copied my background into a new layer, did the selection and DELETE as indicated. Then I hid the background layer, and voila! the pixels were deleted as shown. And thanks again! I'm learning a lot.
Hi Anthony, is it possible, as in your lightroom series, to obtain copies of the photos you use to practice on them, please? I look forward to your reply, happy new year, Jan
I can't find it, either. Between layers and masks and selections, I feel I've hit the top of my learning curve with PS. It does get frustrating. Even though I'm limiting myself, I am sticking with Lightroom and its plug-ins for now.
Well, I don't know if it's a UK think, but the information in the link you provided didn't directly work although it did help to a degree. I "reset all tools" which didn't appear to do anything until I right clicked on the selection icons (down left side) and I got some additional options. Also, which I thought was quite good, if I clicked on an icon with the ALT (pc) button pushed it toggled those same options, so I think I'm there
Hi, take a look at my reply to Anthony and see if that helps. I too currently prefer LR, but really want to give PS a whirl so I'm sticking with it for now and see how it goes
...." Dear Anthony' i am trying to work with "select and mask " i no one from the tools react , not the refine edge , not the select only the ZOOM work. I am using PC with windows 10 , Adobe Photoshop Version: 2017.1.1 20170425.r.252 2017/04/25:23:00:00 CL 1113967 x64 I tried it on different Photo same result , I can select only in the main windows but cannot use refine tools.
You're making the selection on a locked background layer. Click on the little padlock that is to the right side of the layer in the layers panel to unlock it then try hitting the delete key.
Have been helped by your videos for a while and usually very clear but where is the "i" or "eye" or "aye" you say is on the right side of the screen. Sorry, I just don't see it.

At full screen your detail is superior. Soooo much better when looking at the little photoshop tools etc. Wish everyone was as good. Great job again!
Thank you!

Watching your videos at (80) has brought my photography on ten fold! many Thanks. would like to donate if you have Pay Pal? Up to Episode 6.
Enjoyed this video

such a great video, thank you so much!
For any ps starter this is the voice and speed they would like to follow. If only the mouse could be easier to see but great video, Anthony.

I'll talk about that in future videos.

Polygonal American pronunciation is puh.li.guh.nuhl These really nice tutorials.

Thanks Anthony. I still do not seem to be getting the multiple selection options down the left hand side? I am using PS-CC on a PC.
Hi Kelvin, It could be a zillion things -- try doing what is suggested here: scottkelby.com/photoshop-tip-tools-screwed/

Adobe Photoshop Version: 2017.1.1 20170425.r.252 2017/04/25:23:00:00 CL 1113967 x64
I tried it on different Photo same result , I can select only in the main windows but cannot use refine tools.
When I`am dragging a selection with the move tool to another picture it doesn`t appear as a new layer, nothing happend !!
After you dragged it to another photo did you continue to hold the button down and bring the photo down to the center?
After selecting the bird with the magic wand tool and then pressing delete button pops a new window. why is it so? The new window says "Fill",
You're making the selection on a locked background layer. Click on the little padlock that is to the right side of the layer in the layers panel to unlock it then try hitting the delete key.
Done. You are just awesome. Thank you so much :)

Great lessons but why are all the photos U use so bad?
