"Mimi Parker of Low has died, according to social media updates by the band. Parker, who cofounded the Duluth-based rock group with husband Alan Sparhawk, was diagnosed with ovarian cancer two years ago. Since then, Low had cut back on live performances and Parker received treatment.
An update posted Sunday morning reads: “Friends, it’s hard to put the universe into language and into a short message, but She passed away last night, surrounded by family and love, including yours. Keep her name close and sacred. Share this moment with someone who needs you. Love is indeed the most important thing.”

God bless this beautiful woman with the beautiful voice! Another teal angel has been taken too soon from us RIP Mimi, tomorrow will mark 7 years of survivorship for my wife with this insidious disease.

I just now came across this band today for the first time. I lost my mom to ovarian cancer in 2008....and while I think about her every day, lately it's been more than usual. and seeing this amazing singer lost her battle to the same disease....I must have been meant to hear this.

I reckon i seen every Scottish tour Low played and i never heard this sound so good.
"especially me... and probably you", a magical, evocative, verse, to me.
I read that she just died from ovarian cancer. I remember hearing them down at the pavilion at Lake Harriet, Mpls. She had such a haunting voice.

Dear god! I just got back from the hospital. I was listening to this and had to stab my ear drums with an ice pick so it would stop because my mouse ran out of batteries.
