  • This is my Primus audition tape to be their Drummer in 2025. Primus has been a huge influence in my music journey and I am grateful for the opportunity to put my hat in the ring as Tim "Herb" Alexander's replacement and to potentially collaborate with Bay Area Legends Les Claypool and Larry Lalonde. The music in this video is all original music I have made with my band Rat Bastard Radio from Santa Rosa/San Francisco CA. Primus is a foundational influence in this band, and I hope that is able to be heard through the music. Listed below are the names of the songs in this video and notes depicting my role in the songwriting process and a description of the song. Hope you enjoy!
"Stumbly" - Energetic bouncy and funky, differing from the recording with the half time breakdown - heavily inspired by Primus with a busy bass line with double kick drums backing the rhythm while keeping time via the cymbals.
I Wrote: Drum Part, Lyrics, Song Structure, and the Halftime Breakdown when playing live.
"¡Aah?" - Wacky syncopated instrumentation also with a busy bass line and a
bell centric drum pattern driving the groove, starting off strong with a riff and mellowing out with a spacey and open verse, to be brought back in with a polyrhythmic breakdown into the main riff to close it out
    I Wrote: Drums, Melody/Lyrics, Main Riff/Rhythm
"Elmers Funk pt I&II" - An obscure odd time signature jam always changing when played live, maintaining momentum and sticking in the 5/4 Pocket while switching between 5/4 and 10/4 with the beat and fills is key on this song. My job is to stay consistent and let the Guitar and Bass go crazy in the jam. When performing live we have cues to pick up on in order to retain some structure but for the most part is improvised on the spot every time.
