My favorite part of Tsukki's moment is his face immediately after he roars, while Noya comes in to take a chomp out of his shoulder. That palpable embarrassment, realizing what he just did in front of everyone, is so human and real.
In the manga, Hinata's line "that point was worth 100 points" has A LOT more weight. When they were training with Bokuto, Hinata says something like "sometimes you score points that are worth 100 points" speaking about the morale boost it gives, but Tsukki, being all Tsuki-like he replies "what? one point is always worth only one point. That does not make sense". The smirk when Hinata says that to him is everything. He's finally on board.
If I recall correctly, Tsukishima's VA was instructed not to celebrate points with the other cast up until this point, so this moment is the VA letting out all the piled-up excitement of two seasons. Maybe that's why it's so powerful.
Additionally, in the manga, Tsukki never joined in celebration. Even when he blocked Ushiwaka, he did the pump, but didn't scream. Not sure if it was the director or the VA who put up the idea for animated Tsukki to verbally celebrate for this moment. Great change from the manga!
The very beginning of the scene, when the setter tosses the ball and the music stops, then we get to hear Tsukishima's thoughts "Ah, I've been waiting for this" is the actual chills moment - "the fatal mistake / fatal realization" kind of scene. All that comes after it serves just to potencialize the outcome, but, for me, the moment I realize "shit's real" is the music+thoughts combo at the beginning.
I like how the team doesn't react to Tsukki getting they point, they react to his celebration afterwards like they know that this was his moment and he broke through a barrier :)
Same here. Until this point, Tanaka is the only player to have played the full time for every single game and that shouldn't be underestimated or undervalued and I feel it just says so much about him in general.
@@raniaye I really liked the moment in one of the episodes where Ukai says Tanaka undoubtedly has the qualities of an ace. It’s such a short moment, but I think it really does point to the extent of Tanaka’s dependability. Asahi’s ace-like qualities have been jabbed at mostly during the beginning of the series (and nothing against him of course), but I like how Ukai shows no doubt as to Tanaka’s potential to be an ace.
11:44 Understandably, many Haikyuu!! fans consider this their #1 favorite moment. For me, it's #3, because there are two more moments in S4 that I consider better than this moment, as unbelievable as it sounds. 😂 Still, I think this one is the best up to this point.
Lmao personally I have 4 moments I go back and rewatch: the two moments in s4, this moment, and the end of the last Seijoh match. They're all so GOOD 😩
@@arr7600 #1 Hinata's dig on Aran's spike in S4E22. It's such a satisfying payoff on the Ball Boy arc. #2 Tanaka's cut shot S4E16. He was so down in the entire set because Inarizaki was picking on him and to be able to do that to win the set.
This was the moment that cemented Tsukishima as my favorite character. Not just that he kill blocked Ushijima, but the calculating leading up to it and him afterwards trying to convince himself that it's "just one point, just a club" and failing. Thus, leading to him unleashing his pent up emotional ties to the game that he's attempted to repress.
I’VE NEVER CLICKED ON A VIDEO THIS FAST SHDJANJSKAJA! YOU ARE FINALLY HERE!!! Seeing your reaction is so worth it (been thinking about how you’ll react to this ep ever since the first time I discovered you 😆)!!!!!! We are all so proud of Tsukki!!! On the other hand, I like the way you said about Tanaka and his consistency as a team player! That’s spot on, especially since he’s the only second-year who never leave the club
I’ve been waiting this episode for almost a year since you were in season 1 and you developed this relationship with tsukki’s character so finally being able to see your reaction was so satisfying, I reacted just like you years ago and it is just a great feeling🫶🏻
I cry a little every time I see this scene lol I heard from other fans that this was the first time anyone had blocked Ushiwaka in the prefecture. I don't know if that is true or not but I like to think it is. :D
Love your reaction, great as always. I know you already far ahead with your reaction but I gotta tell you that Tendo guess block and Tsukki Read block are two different style of blocking. Both of them are just going hard on theirs style of blocking which is quite the opposite of each other so it is quite weird to think that Tsukki is learning guess block since it is the of opposite playing style he has. Tsukki is a player that doesn't take high risk chances, rather he will make an educated choice based of the information he received. Like his brother says "he doesn't trust his instincts, he only rely on the information he received right Infront of him.". Guess block are relying on animal instinct and some hints given by the players, while read block rely on direct information of the setted ball. Two different style. Guess block is high risk high rewards while read block is a stable counter attack. So, my point is Tsukki will only improve in his style of blocking while fighting Tendo unique style and both of them will show which of them has the best technique. You already at episode 9, I like to tell you about the short extra scene of Shiratorizawa after match when you can find it on UA-cam or the end of the recap movie. I'm sure it will be enjoyable to watch. Don't forget to watch the haikyuu air Vs land ova before starting season 4: to the top. The ova is an official chapter of the manga.
Man I like this scene so much that I can't watch it without crying and I don't even know why (ok,, maybe I know). All the road until this moment was beautifully built and I head that they even asked for the voice actor to never scream or cheer with the other players in the scenes until this moment to got us the whey it does.
Hinata is my favorite character for life and he has a lot of breakthrough moments, BUT this moment of Tski is the only moment that put me CRYING in the all anime and manga EVERY SINGLE TIME no matter where or when I watch it. (I held myself back so much to not watch this video before watching the previous ones, I'm glad I could do it)
Aside from Tsuki's glory moment, a crazy play Hinata did. At 9:38 when he spikes, he ran the play known as bick. It was invented by team USA when they wanted to run different combinations. The insane part is basically he ran a Quick (zero tempo quick) from the 10 ft line. Once again hes 5'4 or 5'5 jumping above an 8' net from the 10ft line, Hinata has hops. Another fact, I watched this on youtube somewhere but Japan was the first team to ever run quicks in Olympic level. I guess back then Japan has very short players and other teams were giants. So running a basic 3rd tempo spike was useless against the tall european teams. So japan Coach thought of running faster plays to throw off the blockers and not being able to keep up. With this strategy they were able to get silver or 2nd place or whatever. Random fact.
What a great day to be watching Haikyuu reactions. The VNL is going wild those last days and Tuesday gonna be Japan vs Brazil ( my favotite team against my homecountry team, the angst. I will probaly make myself sick watching it😂😂) Anyway, Tsuuuuuki. Dude, im totally serious, I cried, I screamed , I felt so damn proud of a 2d animation. Watching him finally having his moment, with Bokuto's speech in the background, so painfully good.
I have read and watched THAT scene several time by myself, plus through dozens of reactors, and I have never not shed a tear. Today is no different. I was even tearing up just starting the video knowing it was coming up. I just empathize so much with Tsuki there, he is the sort of super-rational impostor-syndrome-riddled kind of guy I can identify with. Smart and athletic but not heroïcally, it feels like you can't get fired up for your achievements because they are always small in the grand scheme of things. And yet he does achieve something absolutely incredible here, and the raised fist, then the scream... Oh, my ! I never really liked the character all that much, but that entire character arc, from the scene with Bokuto about 'that moment' to here where everything is paid off, is one of the most breathtaking pieces of media I have witnessed. Well, there is at least another "moment" I absolutely adore, but this one is *chef's kiss* Also, the persistence to annoy Shirabu (Shiratorizawa's setter) with repeated one-touches, Noya's digs, Hinata, and the Kageyama dump, all for that one (still not so free) block... Pfouuuu

Haikyuu dub is HILARIOUS. The way Japanese talk seems very formal, and the dub has been more westernized it seems to me. It is so... relatable? It's hilarious. I do love it, but I love the sub more.
wtf, why did my comment get banned? I talked about Ukai's VA when he already is on episode 9 on Patreon... so what did you do that? It wasn't a spoiler nor a bad thing... it was the complete opposite, so why....
@@CastSenpai i didn't even write a bad word, i don't get it... I was talking about the change of the Ukai's VA from episode 9 of this season onwards, since you are on that episode now.
Kazunari Tanaka (the original VA) was his VA when he was alive (maybe that's word that YT banned me for, the opposite of "alive/live" lol). His last line on the show was (right before Kazunari Tanaka "left us"): "Don't you dare to look down!!! Volleyball... it's a sport where you're always looking up!!!" What an great line, right?
