@@shibba_ the colours i mentioned show up best on darker hair. i have really dark brown hair and i used dark blue hair dye (without the use of bleach) which resulted in black hair that had a very noticeable blue tint to it. everyone's hair is different though so to each their own :)
Can’t color my hair without bleach. I have very dark dark hair and anyone who has the same knows the struggles. Don’t believe this video things like this aren’t always possible.
Yeah my hair is really dark black and thick and for me its impossible to dye my hair without bleaching, because i've tried many times to dye my hair without bleach and its always failed, cause my hair is too dark:(
You can. If you use a very pigmented demi-permanent dye, like certain shades from Manic Panic or Arctic fox, they will tint your hair. It will look like it did nothing until you into sunlight/bright light, and then you hair will reflect the colour. Works best with colours like blue, wine red, magenta, purple, etc. Won't need any kind of bleach, peroxide, developer, nothing that will lift pigment. Can do it straight onto virgin hair.
I have very very dark brown hair that's almost black, and I still noticed a difference when dying it blue-black. It might not look different when glancing at it, but the highlights and overall tond definitely do change colour. Unless your hair is pure black ofc.
SO TRUE. my hair was so dark the bleach only lightened my hair to a brown and not blonde. had to get bleached one more time to get the purple on and even then the purple had to be retoned!
there’s this hair dye called hi color from loreal and it makes your hair lighter without bleaching it (it’s for highlights technically but i used it for my entire head)
@@user-dj7ti8sl3i No it doesn’t really change your texture, using developer will also make the color brighter (30 volume or more, but be careful, anything higher than 30 might be able to change your texture, but I haven’t seen it)
Important: If you don't bleach your hair because of damage, remember that most colors, especially permanent ones / the ones with peroxide / developer in it, will still damage your hair! Not as bad as bleach of course but still damaging. It opens up the hair, so the color can get inside, making it permanent. That's why you'll also mostly get 1, 2 or more nuances lighter hair with it. I have naturally really really dark brown hair. I bleached it platin blonde a long time ago for all the bright colors and used a bleach bath every once in a while to make it blend more with my natural haircolor since I didn't want to bleach it all over again but faded into an ombre and later used some color when I was sick of the blonde. The new roots I used only "dye" on are the same as the parts I used a bleach bath. They lifted all the same and are a lot lighter than my natural hair (my hair lifts really easy tho). Haircolors like directions or manic panic for example won't damage your hair. You could literally let it on you head for hours. On the downside it will wash out really quickly. Sometimes 1-2 weeks is enough time to get it out (hues will stay a lot longer, especially blonde hair since it's light!). Used it a few times on not bleached hair but you'll only see it under direct sunlight as my hair is really dark to begin with. But only colors that are more on the darker side, bright colors like pastells or soft tones won't show up. Also it makes a lot of mess while washing and can stain pillows/towels (I have a extra towel for that) and the shower itself since it's not a permanent color.
The thing is I dont want to bleach my hair because it will fade into some lighter colour... I just want it to fade into my natural colour... I think developer does that?
If you want to dye without ruining your hair or you want to bleach but are afraid to, try peek-a-boo highlights! I've had them for three years and I don't bleach too close to the roots, and it's two layers so if it grows out it doesn't show until after a long time(plus it looks good half and half too) I haven't had any hair damage yet but it's probably because I have nice hair, it did make my hair a bit dry tho
I'm a hairstylist. Unless you have hair lighter than dark blonde/light brown you still have to use a very high developer in a highly anmoniated color to achieve this level of color shift. It's because brunette hair has 3 colors of exposure with lift. It starts red, then orange and then yellow. Only when you pass yellow can you truly deposit enough violet to no longer look brown. So I'm not saying it isn't possible I'm just saying the amount of chemical used to do this is just as bad as bleaching
@- Dana_habra ☻ it depends on if your hilights are prelightened and then colored red or lifted with ammoniated color in one step. The latter would result in it fading warm brown after a long long time. The lifted ones would always fade back to blonde
Or just use hair paint wax if your kinky curly or looser curl hair. My hair is purple right now temporarily and I used that. My hair looks very nice and curls are very defined. Highly recommended. I am gonna do dark blue soon.
in Dec 2019 i dyed my dark brown hair purple w/o bleach and it came out a nice maroon (its basically a reddish purple for those who dont know) and i really liked it. My bangs are now half purple (with bleach) and i kinda miss the maroon
Even with naturally platinum blonde hair, I still needed to lightly bleach for hold/longevity, and afaik it's the same premise for any hair colour. Even permanent dyes that look lovely will fade out a lot quicker without bleaching.
I have very dark hair and have used a few colors from manic panic. It is possible with a couple of their colors including a purple one. The trick is to use a clarifying shampoo, and wait until it is damp. Apply a generous amount onto your hair. Put on a shower cap and occasionally heat it up with a hair dryer. You MUST leave in the dye for as long as possible. For me it was 9 hours. Rinse your hair with cold water and use a tiny amount of conditioner. And yes, manic panic is safe to keep in your hair for long periods of time.
