I have to admit that first goal from Japan had me worried. In the WC Spain absolutely dominated that game against Japan in most of the ways Spain usually does, except Japan was an absolute nightmare on the counter and destroyed the eventual champs 4-0, so myself, the Eternal Pessimist (tm), I just saw that exact type of game coming: we would control the ball, we would take the ball effectively on the press, and yet, they would score approximately 1.3 million goals against us. I was so pleased to see the US Womens’ response.

Great response. Something I think was definitely lacking in the WC. Feels like the momentum continues to pick up steam. Now we don't wanna get too caught up in all of the good vibes, but it's easy to start getting really excited about the olympics. Thanks for chiming in! We always appreciate your points of view!!

Y'all talking about Naeher is reminding me of that tweet/thread meme where it was something like, "y'all don't understand how the swedish World Cup shootout changed Naeher on a molecular level" 😆 it should be studied!

Great job guys! And nice tournament for the US to confirm their good form amidst a transitional period. But I would like to know your opinion, because I was disappointed that Lily Yohannes and Eva Gaetino were not given some minutes.
After all it's a friendly tournament and there aren't many games left to give them a chance before the Olympics... What do you think?

Thank you and totally agree on Lily and Eva. And you will definitely want to watch next episode because we’ll talk about those two players specifically in much more depth. Thanks so much for hanging out with us!

Another great episode! I'll miss Twilia leading this team but am very curious what happens from here on the road to the Olympics.

Also very curious! Not sure where this goes from here, but I feel pretty confident saying this will be a USWNT playing a style we’ve never seen before which is really exciting. Just trying to enjoy the ride! Thanks for hanging out with us btw!!

There are two teams that defeated Spain in 2023:
    Japan at WC 4-0
    Italy Friendly in December 3-2
And Italy just lost to Finland in Euro qualifiers 1-2. Like wtf.

Great call Joshua. Thanks for that. That Group 1 might be the new Group of Life with Norway, Finland, Italy, Netherlands. Thanks for hanging out with us... we appreciate you!

Jade Rose is tough but she and pretty much most of the CAWNT were much more physical than usual in this tournament. It was outrageous.
Jade Rose crushed Crystal’s hand with her cleat and I am surprised Dunn was not taken off for an injury evaluation right when it happened.
There’s a difference between being aggressive/pesky and being over the top. The USWNT are used to this match up but it was getting ridiculous that the ref only gave Fleming a yellow card.
I thought Mal had an injury when she was pushed down late in the 2nd and she just laid there with on her back.
There are only 3 months before Paris. Let’s not recreate the nightmare in 2008 with Wambach, Whitehall, and Osborne going out before they could get to the Olympics.

What a hilarious, biased observation. Shall we address US aggression over the years? It kills me that all but one American pundit were crying "soft foul" from Dunn. THIS IS ALEX MORGAN'S BREAD AND BUTTER....The dramatic fall to the ground. TONS of them. The gang at Attacking Third agree with me. When it's done BY the US, it's 'winning at all costs'. When it is done TO the US......crying like amateurs.
