You know, Dark Souls was probably the first game to make me feel like a hero. Sure, The Elder Scrolls did a great job, and Mass Effect was awesome, but being the chosen undead is special. It shows that you are willing to fight even beyond death to complete your goal. It shows a character fighting for what he believes in, and dying for that belief. And in my opinion, that's what a hero really is.
In any scenario, a hero is defined as the person supporting the "correct" cause. This means that being the hero or the villain is based on belief. Does anybody honestly believe that they're the villain of a story?
You're a mere hobby composer? You deserve to be right up there with Hans fucking Zimmer! This is one of the most beautiful pieces of music I've ever heard, period.

When I hear this song I imagine a warrior fighting with the darkness around him. He sees nothing. He thinks there is no hope for new life, he should just surrender. But then a little sparks of flame touches his face and he feels it. Then he sees the flame standing. The little spark just keeps swinging in the dark, he starts running and following the little spark. He gets cut, monsters are hitting him, his inner fears. The little spark glows brightly to guide him in the dark. He runs and bleeds, but then he sees the little spark of light in the end of the way. He is running, the dark is still trying to stop him. Punching his knees to make him fall, however he stands strong, and then the little light is lost. The warrior thinks he has lost it, but then the little flame comes across his face and it starts to burn and glow so bright that it explodes in light, igniting everything around him, he sees the way to escape, to freedom. He reaches it and sees the sun blazing, the green grass, hears the roars of the lions. He takes one more step to freedom, but then he realizes that his whole life was spent in darkness. He has grown so old that he turns to ashes. His last emotion however was happiness that he has found peace.
I dont know if there is someone is reading my comment right now due to the fact that this song came out 9 years ago and its composer has already disappeared since that. But i just wanna say this song is really amazing, if you have played DS2 and understand its lore then you probably know our character (bearer of the curse) had fought for his fate, in order to cure his curse, he faced a lot of adversity, and this song exactly described their journey. It is unfortunately that the composer has silenced for years and not making songs like this anymore.

I heard that car crash as well at the time. Iirc, his sister briefly uploaded comment about him involved in serious car crash and is in a bad state. Afterward its just no information. Wherever you are John, you music helped me to pass through some bad times. I always miss you

If you get a chance get demon's souls on ps3, its the first game and harder imo. Both are great though. My favorite series and can't wait for dark souls 2

came back after finishing dark souls 3 for the song that got me started on my journey in dark souls 3 years ago. Before , i've always heard of the game dark souls but paid no attention to it. after listening to this song one day, i decided, on a whim, to buy me dark souls 2. so from 2, i went to 1 and then 3. I don't think of dark souls being "hard", but more so respectable in their own way. Not ONCE have I looked at a enemy and say "oh, it's only a hollow". I like those games , Skyrim , Dark Souls , Bloodborne... Besides the fact that in these games rediscover gorgeous places with many evil , ugly , frightening , cunning creatures by different dimension and sometimes with an air of wisdom . I like that we have the possibility to creat our characters to look like us , to leave our own mark , to choose how to evolve . I like when you need a special tactic to defeat our enemies , to survive , the creativity and a good perspective to resolve a puzzle from diferent dungeons or temples and most important when i meet other players in PVP to increase my experiences to learn what i have done wrong or in Co-oP to fight side by side to help others.I feel great when i am in a top of mountain and see a part of this world . This games like books also , send you in a world you can make the impossible. This characters motivated me to be a better man every day to find a balance between my mind and my body , physical and psyhical.I have 19 years old and i still play this games ,but a better game isn't complete with better music :D.

I've also read that reply a couple years ago (in the discussions section of the channel). If I recall correctly though, some time after that his spotify playlist was updated with an 'at the time' recent song. I can't say whether he's dead or alive, but I've occasionally read messages online from a 'friend' or 'relative' or even 'friend of a friend' claiming that someone is dead, only for that person to show up a couple months later.

But i just wanna say this song is really amazing, if you have played DS2 and understand its lore then you probably know our character (bearer of the curse) had fought for his fate, in order to cure his curse, he faced a lot of adversity, and this song exactly described their journey. It is unfortunately that the composer has silenced for years and not making songs like this anymore.

I heard that car crash as well at the time. Iirc, his sister briefly uploaded comment about him involved in serious car crash and is in a bad state. Afterward its just no information.

John Dreamer's music resonates with me on a level no other music does. It's sad to see no new music coming out from him, but I am eternally greatful for the music he has produced. It is nothing short of magnificent.
Indeed, I have yet to hear another composition that encompasses such a broad range of feelings and emotions. Listening to this masterpiece I sometimes feel empowered, determined to succeed, or I feel pride and strength, the confidence of a victorious conqueror. Other times though I can't help but burst out in tears... I feel the radiance of joy, sorrow, courage, despair, hope , doubt and countless more emotions in a wicked switcheroo. This surge of rapidly alternating moods no matter how prepared I am, it always manages to catch me off guard. I don't think of dark souls being "hard", but more so respectable in their own way. Not ONCE have I looked at a enemy and say "oh, it's only a hollow". I like those games , Skyrim , Dark Souls , Bloodborne... Besides the fact that in these games rediscover gorgeous places with many evil , ugly , frightening , cunning creatures by different dimension and sometimes with an air of wisdom . I like that we have the possibility to creat our characters to look like us , to leave our own mark , to choose how to evolve . I like when you need a special tactic to defeat our enemies , to survive , the creativity and a good perspective to resolve a puzzle from diferent dungeons or temples and most important when i meet other players in PVP to increase my experiences to learn what i have done wrong or in Co-oP to fight side by side to help others.I feel great when i am in a top of mountain and see a part of this world . This games like books also , send you in a world you can make the impossible. This characters motivated me to be a better man every day to find a balance between my mind and my body , physical and psyhical.I have 19 years old and i still play this games ,but a better game isn't complete with better music :D.

I've also read that reply a couple years ago (in the discussions section of the channel). If I recall correctly though, some time after that his spotify playlist was updated with an 'at the time' recent song. I can't say whether he's dead or alive, but I've occasionally read messages online from a 'friend' or 'relative' or even 'friend of a friend' claiming that someone is dead, only for that person to show up a couple months later.
