You much not watch many documentaries, cause there’s way better one, with MUCH better narrators, that don’t sound like they got peanut butter stuck to the roof of they mouth, and doesn’t speak in run on sentences. AND ON TOP OF THAT he just made shit up that wasn’t on Wikipedia. Like “the machine listens to the sound the coin makes” that’s bogus. There’s no listening device in slots. He is a moron just tryna make money from reading Wikipedia and making shit up.
Maybe i'm just a scumbag but i always root for the scammer in situations like this lol (when they're scamming a big enterprise that is, not innocent civilians)
I find it difficult to assess judgment against you or him, not a gambler - except life. When the intent of a casino is to "set" "rig" odds, that shouldn't individuals be allowed the same. I should clarify, counting cards or other logical methods of "pure" methods of beating their odds...without cameras. This case was different, but without doubt - the casino do the same
You're not the scumbag, casinos are the scumbag. Not only are casinos deeply unethical profitting out of addicts but they get butthurt when you beat them (which should be a warning to gamblers not to gamble). I was sad when I heard he got sentenced to 7 years, I wish he didn't get punished.
I wasn't even aware this is a first video until seeing the comments, great work and I'm seeing the potential of an upcoming million subscriber channel!
Some of this is difficult to swallow: Example The comparator checking 5000 reference points 3:48 Usually, there are multiple versions of slot tokens issued by a casino....some for anniversaries, straight up changes after 2-3 years, AND they wear and get smooth. Also, MANY times I have accidentally walked out of a casino with a couple in my pocket and rather than walking all the way back to THAT casino I just used them in the next one....80% of them are identical in WEIGHT but NOT design, and they almost always worked, so I'm not buying the 5000 points of comparison. MAYBE on a 100 or 500$ token, but not on 1$s
'S' tier may stand for "Special", "Super", or the Japanese word for "Exemplary" (秀, shū), and originates from the widespread use in Japanese culture of an 'S' grade for advertising and academic grading
Im confused on how he won while using his first counterfeit coin? Please explain? He makes the exact replica, its perfect and the weight is now good, but whatd happening when hes inserting that first coin?
I was playing $1 Poker machines back when you had to use tokens and it was at Caesar’s in AC. When I cashed out a few slugs were mixed in with the actual $1 tokens. This was in the early 90’s.
Just got recommended a video, thought u were some big ass channel producing these. Wit 5k subscribers u are absolutely killing it, very thorough in your documentation!
True story, years after his days of scamming he ended up taking classes at the college I went to in RI. I took a marketing class with him where he would tell all the students to look him up. I was assigned to work on a project with him and two others and he did refused to do anything and would just tell us to look up him. Once I did and found out who he was I kept my mouth shut and let him be. He died a few years later, what he was doing in College at his age is beyond me.
All that time, effort and intelligence could've been used to do something good. A legitimate business and made himself wealthy that way. SMH what a dope! Thats why casinos hire the bes,t to catch thieves just like these 3.
I am professional roullete player. the most important thing is good money management, stop loss, take profit for the day and strategy with more that 96% chances
Am I the only one that thinks some of these counterfeit coins and chips would make a cool collectible? Drawback of course is that in some states it would be illegal to possess them.
Wait- I'm coming to this video as a CONTINUATION of a different video (which, I would assume is like most people here?) How is this one labeled as having been released 4 weeks ago- yet the video that brought me here as a prequel was just posted recently...? Are you some sort of time traveler from the future who came back in time to upload videos- then go further back to upload their sequels in a prequel format?
Smart and skilled enough to create a forgery that probably only a handful of people in the world could pull off. Not smart enough to foresee that casinos would inevitably notice that they possessed an ever-increasing pile of high-denomination tokens. There was a dentist who tried the same cheat. He had the knowledge and equipment to create forged tokens. Got caught the same way. The casino eventually noticed that they had way more high-denom tokens than they should have.
Basically. He went to casino, bought the coins, pocketed them and threw counterfeit coins into machine. After some time playing, he pressed button that return coins to him(real coins) and went cash out his originaly bought and his "washed out" coins back for money. Slot machines have usually two inventories of coins. One bucket for coins/money threw in, second inventory to pay back.
I'm with you. There's a part of the story that's missing. He unloaded $24,000 worth of $10 coins in a single casino? That would weigh a ton. And he'd look highly suspicious.
This doesn't explain how he got the blanks to coin the counterfeit tokens from??? The blanks must be made from punching on a sheet of metal that has been rolled to the correct thickness! In addition, at least one casino had a two metal token so that was even more difficult. So how did he do that across dozens of casinos in three denominations??!!!
Why do brits say "bawlys" instead of Ballys 12:27 Also 13:54 Says malfunctioning instead of manufacturing. Yay for making videos about topics you learned about as part of a business model rather than out of genuine interest. Im nitpicking though, I enjoy your content
It's impressive today. But WAY more impressive considering the internet was so useless back then, he probably didn't use it. It's hard to imagine today how you would even get hold of the tools he needed, let alone successfully complete his task.
You know whatd be funny? if at his sentencing they put up on the bigscreen a clip of him testing his 10 dollar coin and show his reaction of pure happiness. Then show the spin be a loser. then have the judge say 'this is how they caught on to you, celebrating a losing spin looked fishy
He would of been better off setting up shop in New Jersey with his dies and press and make them there, thus not crossing state lines with the illegal tokens...With the money he made, he could of afforded the equipment to have in each state he did this in

Sorry, curiosity, did nobody try to lift finger prints off these coins? Or was there no print to match them to in the system?
They get circulated a lot so would have been unreliable.
Good research and editing i actually watch the whole thing with great interest. Good job thanks
