I don't even bike but I think what you are doing is really cool. You put quality stuff up and you are a likable guy. I will keep watching you to see how big you can get. That Patreon idea is one I might steal for my Channel ;0.
Dude this is awesome. Congrats on making the jump. I found your channel last week and blazed through all the ride guides already. You put out the best ride videos on youtube, looking forward to what you will do in the future
at work when i cant ride my bike, i just take my phone.. go to youtube and scan one of your rides, and its probably the same thing. that has been my therapy eversince. thanks for making this video. really inspires me. i wish i could start a channel on my own.
I only recently discovered your channel, but I've been working my way through your videos ever since; a period of a couple of days now. As a rider who can currently only dream of being able to travel and ride the trails that you ride, see the sights that you see... I'm happy to help! I've just finalized my $3 a month pledge to your Patreon, and I'll likely increase the amount in a month or so! Keep up the good work, man; I love this channel! Thanks for taking the time and putting forth the effort to film, edit and upload your rides for us all. :D
I really hope this channel takes off, you deserve it man! you are great behind the camera and are a decent rider you just need to get into the mainstream which will come with time
So awesome to hear you are doing it full time. Now you can say you have the best job in the world because you do. I'll definitely try to do the Patreon as well. Can't wait to see your channel grow.
I love your video's man, stoked that you are following your passion! Keep up the good work, and if you ever come to Vancouver Island I would love to show you around!
Been a subscriber for quite a while now. Having known that you actually get profit from comments and likes I would have commented and liked all your videos way earlier! Even though I'm from The Netherlands and will probably never see the trails you ride, I still love watching your videos man. It inspires me to get on the bike and shred the trails ;) Sadly I broke one of my carpal bones (triquetral bone) three weeks ago and still can't ride, but your videos really give me the urge to get back on the bike as soon as possible. Keep up the great work, I know a lot of people will support you. Actually I'm sure they will, seeing your subscriber number grow with the day. Greetings from The Netherlands
It's awesome that you took your passion and made it a full-time career. Growing up in PA close to the Jersey border, I have got to say that your Jersey Joey is spot on. One more thing, come up to Sun Valley. Lets ride!
Congratulations! You went PRO MTB! I salute that you followed your passion for MTB, many desire that courage but very few can actually can do it! Many accolades!
Happy for you man. Good luck and hope it's a great success. My trip to Moab and your videos did inspire me to get into the hobby. My 2016 Santa Cruz Bronson X01 build has shipped! Got a great deal! Maybe you can do a weekly or biweekly Q&A based on questions from your subscribers. And perhaps expand to some videos on riding technique and skills training. But you definitely have a niche so don't lose that! Cheers
no joke you're an inspiration to me. I'm almost done with high school and I'm sitting here every night at 1:30 doing homework and wishing I could live a life like yours man. Givin me hope that maybe one day I could bike for a living, or maybe take my racing career to the next level. I'd support you on Patreon if I wasn't flat out broke and spending every dollar I make my bike. Good luck man have fun with living the dream
Amen man I too have heard that call your truly living the dream riding for a living. I'll definitely support you. Your so lucky you broke off the shackles of the 9 to 5 cubical prison
This is why I love your channel!! Just found your channel this week have been watching your vids nonstop. Keep doing you man, remember, you're not just an employee, you're a CEO. This channel is your company. You've got my support brotha! You've gotta come over to my turf in marin, we can hit camp tamarancho trail in Fairfax.
I'm so stoked you're coming to the basque country! I just crossed paths with Doug from Basque MTB a few days ago, he was riding with a group over Vera, by the border of France. I'll make sure i'll be following your trip. I am coming on board with the sponsorship, i never did yet, but your adventures speaks to me. (maybe) I'll see ya on the trails ;)
Maybe the best MTB channel on the net!! Not seeing many channels doing such comprehensive watchable trail video. I've ridden a lot of trails in BC, but you've opened my eyes to a few more trails that I hoyshitI never knew was that great. pateon money coming Hope to plan my next few years vacations around these CO/CA/BC trails. Look forward to seeing some Oregon and Washington Utah and Arizona trails too. cheers. Scott in Victoria bee cee
Man......I'm jealous, I'm not having even close such a great start... I'm in of course. I hope you like my country, you'll have fun in Spain, but you'll really always recall its food.. Don't give up!
I love how you are following your dreams you should come to Lebanon hills in Minnesota it's not a huge awesome place like whistler but it's a great place to ride.
Hi Brian. I just wanted to wish you all the best with your venture to go full time with UA-cam. I'm sure it will be a success because of the person you are, the rides you present and your interaction with all your subscribers. You have the knack of being a 'friend' without any of us meeting you. I am very glad to have been with you since the beginning. Best wishes Des P
After I've watched one of your videos and this, I subscribed immediately, I think you could be a great guide to follow, I really want to improve my MTB skills and know more cool stuffs. As a poor student, I'm a bit limited of resources but I hope to grow gradually and one day go to anywhere riding on my own and gorgeous bike!!!
Congrats on your progress , the only thing you need to change is the length of you trip to NZ and come on over to Australia on more to the point Tasmania !! Keep up the GREAT WORK ! GC
Im excited for you man. It has been a pleasure watching your videos since I stumbled across your content on r/MTB. $3 a month to help you live the dream is a small price to pay.
Good luck on the next step of your journey! It has been fun watching your posts since I first ran into it on MTBR. I'll look forward to more content. I have one question though. What was the job you were leaving behind?
Dude, good for you. Quitting your job to pursue your passion is what its all about. I'm definitely gonna support you cause you've inspired me to get out on my bike and explore new things.
Very proud of you man. Get away from the desk job. Get out and ride. Do reviews. I'll throw some support soon. Keep it up man. I wish I could come be your partner. I know I could do a lot for you. But I work full time and almost quit my job, but my company loves me and pays me well. Good luck man. You rock brother.
Pledged! Happy to help. I love your vids and hope to see more. If you are ever in San Diego I'd love to share a ride with you if I get my new FS rig from Christmas!
Nice I cant wait! I have a few trails around here I have ridden but they aren't as long a ride as you are used to. Most of them are short tech trails. There is one i am going to hit this weekend that is 15 miles round trip.
Hey Brian just watchen all your vids. Man your take the Trek Guy bontrager shit was so funny. Thanks for making me smile buddy. Keep doin what ya doin its workin.
Don't usually buy in for channels but I think you've got something special here! side note: I would love to see you being ridiculous (a la Trek guy) more often!
To add an interesting twist to the trails you ride - when the weather changes you should check out Rays Indoor MTB in Cleveland. Cleveland-Area mountain bikers train/lap Ray's Gary Fischer trail to keep fit. It's not insane, especially if you're west-coast high-elevation fit already, but it's fun. (And Cleveland is super cheap)
This will work: amzn.to/2cCTrBz but any product I talk about has an Amazon link. I suppose I could put this in the description of every video but not many folks make it that far!
You could also get deals with companies like CRC, Jenson and the like. See if you can work a deal with them to offer your readers a special deal with a promo code and stuff like that. When posting up reviews on gear and stuff post up your affiliate link and look at your partner sites and see who is offering the best deal for the reviewed product so your viewers know they are getting the best deal. Just gotta make sure to promote your long form review on the videos and mention the affiliate link...be very open about it and say that by purchasing product through that link it helps you keep the videos coming and all that. I have run a few sites (The Mountain Bike Life was the last one) and ethical monetization was the hardest thing to do, I think honest gear review videos with affiliate links can really pay off. Look at a site called the Wirecutter and check out how they do it....no ad revenue the whole place is run by affiliate links! (I actually am looking at starting a review site run like this...shhh.) Check out Gary Vaynerchuck too, He is pretty amazing with social media and making sure that you give more than you ask for....some good shit. I know you like Casey Niestat and they have done a few videos together...good shit right there.
Thanks for all the good info man! I do have affiliate links and promo codes going strong on the videos about gear. I just haven't done any gear in a while since I've been out travelling. Gotta get some of those videos mixed in again.
Had a little issue with the minimum so I just set a max donation per month. Keep up the good work. Looking forward to seeing those Colorado videos! Those future trips sound awesome too!
im new to ur channel and love what ur doing. might be a little behind on watching all ur vids but u could do standup in the cities u travel to with that joey trek shit. thats fucking funny.
Looking at your views, I think a lot of people are like me, while there is some interest in far off trails, getting honest and meaningful feedback on bikes is solid gold. It's no secret that bikes are getting more expensive and the best some of us can get is a parking lot test, usually of a frame that isn't the right size, before we have to commit to $6K+ purchase? Insane. Look at your views, the new Enduro, the Hightower, the Trek, they are 5X more than your trail rides. What you're missing and what the Interweb is missing is shootouts. Put together 3 or 4 bikes from the same category, spend a week on the same trail and rail them back to back to back. Sure, give the highlights but also the negatives. Example, I had looked at the specs of that Trek plus bike and thought the bottom bracket looked too low then I caught a comment in your ride about all the pedal strikes you were experiencing.Sure BikeMag does their annual thing but each bike gets an individual video and the reviews are pretty watered down. But because you don't have corporate sponsorship that you have to worry about, you can give real feedback! Do this and you will take over the Internet.
Yeah man, I think this would be a fantastic thing to do, and eventually something I'd love to take on. I'll need to get some buy-in from the bike companies where they would actually send me a bike for three days. Out of pocket something like that would cost $450 per bike!
Hey I think I know Joey
hey Seth
Haha, little bit of NJ/NY influence there.
lol
I don't even bike but I think what you are doing is really cool. You put quality stuff up and you are a likable guy. I will keep watching you to see how big you can get. That Patreon idea is one I might steal for my Channel ;0.

side note: I would love to see you being ridiculous (a la Trek guy) more often!
Thanks for the support dude! There's a fine line between comedy gold and being annoying as hell, glad I was able to stay on the good side of the line.
Joey Trek -- that bit was gold! xD
Needs a "Don't watch while drinking milk" disclaimer
Hahaha, thanks Blake!
you can get an amazon affiliate link also.
Yup, I've got em!

Haha thanks

Haha thanks man
im new to ur channel and love what ur doing. might be a little behind on watching all ur vids but u could do standup in the cities u travel to with that joey trek shit. thats fucking funny.
Hahah thanks man
Looking at your views, I think a lot of people are like me, while there is some interest in far off trails, getting honest and meaningful feedback on bikes is solid gold.
Out of pocket something like that would cost $450 per bike!
in the future if you want come to panama you are welcome, there is some cool trails
