i agree. they are relaxing, a good way to destress. there is much too much stress in the political videos, it's really nice to come here and just relax
I am thrilled to have our license plate in your hands and making it onto the video. I'm excited to see it on the wall! You guys are welcome. There is no better mill show on You Tube...Ken Nyquist Sr.
Speaking of boring videos..... you have ONE camera with only THREE positions and yet your videos are some of the VERY few I watch all the way through. I'm never bored. Keep doing what you've been doing. Dave
Mark your stop block fence worked really well on the bridge decking material. As always, it was great to see Mark and Eddie taking care of the lumber handling duties. Your habit of taking your time when cutting unusual dimension orders is very wise. A slow and steady approach helps you guys avoid potentially dangerous problems and makes the the work time in the mill that much more enjoyable. Thank you all for another very interesting sawing video! Hope you all had a wonderful Easter!
Thank you for the video Mark and the crew. What a booming video!!! Lost count of them but pleasantly surprised with how many of these short logs boomed.
Hello from Florida,I'm originally from Maine,I really like your channel,as a young man I worked around a Lane #1 mill, I miss the sound and smell of the mill,it had babbit metal bearings,I used to grease, keep the saw sharp, scale and grade the lumber, please keep up the good work, always wondered how old that mill was,be careful and take good care of Mr Horvath !!
We had some 3" dry Oak side boards in our joiners shop that stopped our big rip saw dead when the stress pinched the back of the blade and the riding knife, it took some time to free it with a lot of wedges hammered in behind the blade, anyone who runs a large saw without a knife behind the blade is putting all at risk, you can get away with it till one day bang or "BOOM". John in UK.
never boring! Its mesmerizing, actually. I wonder if at some point you could set up a second camera out where your guys are offloading or chopping. I'm always wondering where Eddie puts the lumber, and what his organization is, why this stack and not that stack.
I saw that video you were talking about and it was real scary. That riving knife(board splitter) is real important. I would be surprised if that sawyer didnt sustain serious injury. Maximum yield is a little more tricky when target is a 4x6.
Hi Mark, Ed, & Crew! Great video, as always! Pinching a saw blade is just about as bad as sticking a fork in a toaster! The Shix could hit the fan! Best Wishes! Gary
Jason's grandpaw could've used the Beware Of Dawg sign when he cut that notch in the last one years ago. Good sawing and I've worked a 25 ton dragline off mats that I couldn't walk across the soft ground underneath where I had to fill in to get the machine where it needed to be to start digging. . Had to walk the machine back with the mats to quit and go home. Thanks Pal and Jesus is alive and well!
HI MARK you look good 👍 w a cap it's different don't feel bad I ware a cap every day I always have ever since I was a kid that's been over 4O YEARS OMG 4 28 2O22
Happy Easter Mark, Eddie and Mark That mill of John's needs to go to obedience class biting like that, its a bad dog that bites its owner! Obviously a very unhappy dog!
Boring , you mus be joking , its magic seeing ol mark turn dodgy ol trees into a thing of beauty , the end product is well worth it , keep at it mark , get some glass in that cab , sodding plexy crap !!!! regards from the UK , ex case owner !!!!
Hey Mark, Started watching John at " FricknJeep " The guy is a Crusty old Bugger like myself, lol... Like his content. He does have some methods to his madness I'll say that and has his fingers in A Lot of stuff. Enjoyed the video, Thanks for sharing. Damn I almost forgot, BOOM.
On the lead in on one of your videos talk about the fuel consumption on the various engines, Bus Motor Diesel, Buzzy chop saw, sawdust blower. Please just curious.
Just an idea, GREAT VIDS by the way. The idea is a wide angle camera near the front end loader focused over the work area of T.H.E. Eddy Horvath, and playing (recording) in the upper left corner of your great videos.
I certainly don't think your videos are boring, Mark !! For me, there's something very soothing as your sled delivers the lumber up to the circular saw. It reminds me when I was a kid in 1953/4 when we lived near a saw mill in what was then Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe). It was fascinating as they sawed mostly Redwood logs for construction purposes!!
Worked around a heavy hauling company. They had a big guy who used the length of 4 x 6's in one hand as pointer to give direction to his men. Kind of remined me of John Henry.
grab the glass from some storm doors or rotten sliding glass doors or some such they're usually on the free section of craigslist then glue them in place with urethane from a caulking gun tube glass cutter is real easy to learn how to use when your practice is free, lol
He said it's about making money. I beg to disagree. Best longest use and recycling. Dust for horses. Then the cabinets or any of many pretty works. And RESPECT FOR THE RESORCE. ALSO NOTED !
Hey you could make millions by making a saw mill video game that would also teach young people about how to run a saw mill. Plus they would have a lot of fun playing the game as they could build their own house by the lumber they cut up on the video game.
I was thinking; why not put a button YOUR control room hooked up to a loud bell or train horn for emergencies and for getting attention? Oh' and an AC connector for the camera!
Nothing boring about your videos. Thanks for taking us along.
thanks Glad you liked it.
your video's are not boring , i enjoy them

I'm sure that loader comes in handy! Much better than the bucket on a tractor. No telling what creatures you can find in the slab pile this summer. :)
yes it does Jim.

Good morning to all from SE Louisiana 20 Apr 22.
good morning Bill.
Mark; I can think better if I’m thinking out loud too.
As you messaged that second log had some nice lumber in it do you have a market for short stock like that I think woodworkers could use a lot of it
I keep them for my shop.
It's nice to see John the turtle
he is back!
What kind of bits do you run and what gauge is your saw? Nice setup! Thanks for the videos!
thanks , I run pipers 9/32" carbide bits and the saw is 7-8 gauge f-pattern 550 rpm. How's things going?
@@markgalicic7788 Good. Got another 8” of snow yesterday. I need to get my building finished up and Get out of the weather like yourself.
mid 90's here, firewood here goes for $250/cord pine or mixed hardwood to $375 for mesquite so if you get more than that your ahead.
cold here in the 30's , lots of money in slabwood.
The sound is different from your other videos. Great Video as usual.
You work it the best you can. But in the end the wood gives you what it wants.
Did you try Lemmon Pledge on the window?
not yet.
I certainly don't think your videos are boring, Mark !! For me, there's something very soothing as your sled delivers the lumber up to the circular saw. wow that's a big man!
I bet everyone did as they were told, too. 🙂
Do you have a West Virginia plate ?
I am not sure.
grab the glass from some storm doors or rotten sliding glass doors or some such
they're usually on the free section of craigslist
then glue them in place with urethane from a caulking gun tube
glass cutter is real easy to learn how to use when your practice is free, lol
how many times have you just misjudged the distance when Eddie places boards back on the sled and you cut it as you pulled the sled back?
it will hit the splitter, no problem.
Where did you find your chop saw.i know you put a new motor on it so don't care about that.just the saw.ty
thru a sawmill publication .
@mark galicic what is a saw mill publication.news paper or sale flyer or is there a place I can purchase this.never heard of anything before.
