Sheryl Crow has a TON of great songs. You guys definitely need to dive into her greatest hits.
No doubt about that. You guys should also listen to the band Rick Beato talked about on his channel a few weeks ago. The band is Muddy Magnolias and the song is Down By The Riverside.
@@stanflahaut1893 RIP Chris Farley
Definitely one my favs is the first cut is the deepest, it was done by Rod Stewart but I like Sheryl's version better
She doesn't have a ton...of songs.
@@michaelasay8587 11 studio albums, 4 live albums, 6 compilation albums, and 19 soundtrack contributions isn't a ton of music?
I'd forgotten how good this one was. "All I Wanna Do" is probably her best-known, then "Soak Up The Sun" and "Every Day Is A Winding Road". She also did "Tomorrow Never Dies", one of the better James Bond movie themes.
All strong seconds on these recs, including TND, which is often considered meh by my peers as Bond themes go but I love.
First Cut is the Deepest. A cover but a very nice cover.
Named my car after that song winding Road
Kid Rock - Picture
@@cryhwks Yeah , a LOT of people know that song who aren't fans of either artist.
Sheryl Crowe was one of those artists everyone could listen to whether they listened to country, rock or pop. Love "My favorite Mistake" , "Soak up the Sun" and "Strong Enough" and so much more.
I love you for mentioning all of this!!
Pictures with Kid Rock is amazing too
Brad & Lex, you'll love her "All I Wanna Do", "Strong Enough" and "Soak Up The Sun"
as much as I've never been a fan of the sun ;) one of my all-time favorite "happy" songs is Soak Up The Sun. love it!!!
I would add the First Cut, and Steve McQueen
I love Sheryl's music!
She's a cancer survivor and she rocks
My high school choir teacher was Sheryl Crow's sister. She came to our class and sang the Sunshine song in front our classroom when it came out.
Not my choice of music but still a cool memory.
omfreakingg shut the front door that is so cool!
Wasn't she a music teacher herself before pursuing her own music?
Way cooler than anything that ever happened to me in school.
Sheryl's a real one, real artist, real musician.
She has had quite a personal journey over the years, and some great music, including All I Wanna Do
yes indeed, backup singer for Michael Jackson, cancer survivor... 'Tuesday Night Music Club" is a great debut album!
@@surlechapeau Wasn't she married to Lance Armstrong as well for a while as well? Or did I just imagine that?
@@mattpotter8725 They dated and were engaged, but broke it off 4-5 months later
I dig this tune as well, guys. My two favorite songs from Sheryl Crow are "The First Cut Is the Deepest" (a cover, not original of hers to the best of my recollection) and "My Favorite Mistake"... As always, Peace & Love to All! 😎✌❤🔥
I like her cover of The first cut is the deepest too. The original is by cat Stevens, but I believe the most popular version is rod Stewart.
@@survival7691 Best version is by PP Arnold though.
Got the chance to go backstage at a Sheryl Crow concert. What a lovely person and her band was very chill.
Finally you guys are hitting Sheryl Crow! One of the greatest singer-songwriters of her generation, with a fantastic voice! I agree with Brad, her voice touches me deep inside! Very deep catalogue for you to explore! My three favorites:
My Favorite Mistake
A Change Would Do You Good
Hard To Make A Stand.
Total bopping around the house song.
I would classify her music as Americana, sort of in the same way John Mellencamp's is. It's very grass-roots, a melting pot. It has elements of pop, but has it's roots in rock, country, bluegrass, southern rock, folk/singer-songwriter, and the blues. Very eclectic. The sultry lower register of her voice is soothing and relaxing. As Brad stated the amount of grit is just perfect. She has nice range and obviously can sing higher as she does in the chorus of this song, and I like it ok, but I think her lower register is just butter. Good stuff. Tasty. I would love to hang with her sitting around a campfire, kicking back, just chillin' drinking a beer, listening to some tunes and swapping stories. Her music is summer and fall and makes you feel like you got no troubles at all.
Good call, sorta like John Mellencamp.
You said it! 😊
That’s a cool comment you just made. I agree with you, I would love that too!
Yall Happy..If it makes you happy it can't be that bad..😊
Finally! This is pure 90's
Sheryl has had a great career, plays a load of instruments and she's a great rocker. Love her music. I've seen her in concert twice and she was brilliant👏
Better watch out. Brad's got that Alanis Morissette look on his face again. ;)
Tracy Bonham "Mother Mother"
no one even remembers that song at this point but it was sooooooo good and her voice was excellent
I DEFINITELY remember Tracy Bonham. She was a mainstay of the local alternative music scene in Boston in the mid 90s. I saw her several times either at the Paradise or TT’s or the Middle East in Cambridge (or all of them). She was wonderfully weird and had a great voice. She could wail.
I remember her very well. Even remember buying her cd when it came out lol. Loved her voice.
"My favorite mistake" is another good one by Sheryl Crow
I love her voice🖤💜takes me to the 90's. I guess the King of Pop loved her voice too, she was a backup singer for him at the beginning of her career🤩
"Tingle in a random part of your body" C'mon Brad, we know where your tingling . :-)))))))
Sheryl was 🔥 too
This song always feels like a rolling stones song to me.
Sheryl Is. Cool. Great lyrics too
That sophomore album of hers is great! So many good songs in there: "Maybe Angels", "Leaving Las Vegas", "Home", "Sweet Rosalyn", "Redemption Day" (arguably her best)... also, killer production by Tchad Blake and Mitchell Froom.
Las Vegas was on TNMC but I do believe her second album is one of the best thing they came out of the 90s!
Her voice on HOME is incredible
Another one I was totally 😍🤗 in love with in the 90's at 16😄 a long with alanis morissette.
Sheryl is amazing. Off the top of my head, my favorite from her was 'We Do What We Can' -- it's so smooth and jazzy...
I believe Sheryl Crow's father, played trumpet on that track.
Well said Brad. She has a great voice.
"Soaking Up The Sun" and "Real Gone" are some of my favorites by her. She has a similar style to Shania Twain very diverse and surprising with a huge catalog.
She got her start as a backup singer for Michael Jackson. Her feeling is amazing, watch brads face it says it all. I love you kids.
I still get stoned, happy 420 all. Rock on Brad & Lex
Leaving Las Vegas is my fave.
I immediately knew Brad would like Sheryl Crow because her songs always gave me a similar vibe as Alanis Morrisette. Kind of like Alanis with a bit of a country accent. :)
Sheryl Crow has a ton of hits, but this one has always been by far my favorite. The first hit of hers I remember is "All I Want To Do" which is also a great song - and I feel that one is very earnest, where I've always felt this one is quite ironic, and the fact that she can do both really well shows she has great talent. Love this song, thanks for the reaction!
Relatable, laugh. Great reaction and lots of thoughtful observations. I like all her obvious hits and such but I really think this is probably my favorite song by her. She is about six months older than me which is maybe why I relate to her so well. She grew up in Missouri right next door to my state of Kansas. She was one of those over achievers who medaled in track and won all sorts of awards and was in the National Honor Society but she ended up getting her degree in music education and taught music before finally jump-starting her music career. But I think she had always been singing in bands and stuff locally.
And in my never-ending quest to draw more attention to bass players and bass lines in the music, I freaking love that bass line. It's simple for sure, but it's so smooth and perfect for the mood of this song. You really notice it in the chorus and in the instrumental sections, including the outro. And yeah Lex, they throw that slide guitar in there at times which gives it a bit of at twang for sure.
Didn't know about the track star thing, but it makes sense, as she's 2/3 legs!
@@ramblerdave1339 lol, no doubt!
@@ramblerdave1339
In high school she took at least one state medal (MO), in 75 meter low hurdles. She still runs and swims to stay fit.
This is one of my favorite Sheryl Crow videos to one of her songs, she looked Gorgeous in this video!
Her and Kid Rock did a great song called Picture. I know you will like it.
Love Sheryl and her rebellious side. was a huge part of my life when my now wife and I first met. Every time we hear one of her early songs, we just smile at each other. Funny how music can do that to you….
Exactly Brad! When she sings it out! She is Amazing!!
This and Everyday is a Winding Road are two of my favourite songs of hers.
Sheryl Crow is one of my go-tos. Her early albums have great sass and depth. Definitely 90s!
But my favourite is the later Wildflower which is more reflective and intimate.
"ALL I Wanna Do" & "Strong Enough" for sure... also "Picture" (a 🔥 country duet with Kid Rock... easily some of the best work in his career)
Sheryl is so awesome, LOTS of great songs to listen to. Her debut album, Tuesday Night Music Club, is a must listen 👍🏻
First time I see brad smile to a reaction
Sheryl Crow songs feel authentic to me.
Right on Lex. She does have one about driving really fast. It's called Steve McQueen, and that video OMG...BRAD...BRAD BRAD BRAD....Lex you'll have to turn your head at the opening.
Sheryl Crow lacks a little self-awareness. She's definitely the kind of girl you'd want to take home.
haha nice
Every time I hear this it takes me back when I met this girl in Whistler BC. We play pool and got high and as we were getting in to bed this song came on. First time I heard it.. Good times good times ❤️
I think you can feel sad when you're happy. It's about past happy times that you can't bring back. Great reaction
Run Baby Run, The Difficult Kind, Safe And Sound, Am I Getting Though, Crash And Burn, Steve McQueen... Great choices of songs that will really have Brad adoring her voice. Saw her live a while back, a great night had. If she tours by you guys try and get tickets, she puts on a great show.
Screaming Females did the best ever cover of this track. It's incredible.
No way! That sounds dope oll check it out thanks
1:20 The Alanis shell around Brad's heart starts to melt.
"Strong Enough" and "Everyday is a Winding Road"
A true talent. She even made Kid Rock tolerable.
That's a great duet 👍
That first "if it makes you happy" sure made Brad happy 😁
"The Difficult Kind" is a Sheryl Crow song that always hits me hard. Her live version in Central Park [1999] is my favorite take.
She got her break when she toured with Michael Jackson as a backup singer, during the "Bad" tour. Good stuff
I was totally in love with her and Liz Phair in the 90s. I was definitely into not-quite- mainstream-singers in my 20s. A little old for crushes, but I had them anyway.
I instantly clicked on my favorite reaction couple (there are a lot of great ones) to one of my favorite pop songs of all time (I'm 65!). Depending on how one interprets the hook, it might refer to a relationship, an addiction, a sexual orientation...it goes deep. Sheryl Crow is wonderful.
This is my all time favorite Sheryl Crow song. How I missed out on your reaction to it makes me go hmmmm. Her entire 2nd album is fire, and this song is off of it. I bought it way back in the day, and somewhere I still have this on a cassette tape. Oh and that little twang Lexie is talking about is the "steel guitar". A staple in country music and also used in a lot of rock too.
Can see Brad likes Sheryl too by his smile. Another one to add to his list of favourite female singers alongside Alanis & Dolores
You can have your pop princesses. This woman has more talent than most of them. Plays guitar and bass, writes the tunes. She was a back up singer for Michael Jackson before her solo career. All kinds of styles. "Photograph" with kid rock.. best song he ever co wrote. Gutsy voice on this one. She has a great catalog of songs.
Yall going to love her music. Like Alanis, but she does a little more country music, folk music stuff. She made many great songs/videos during the '90s and '00s. Start digging up more of her songs! She's also an actress.
Similar career to Alanis.
I think you did Leaving Las Vegas already, but another hit I didn't see in someone's good list below was Strong Enough. All I Wanna Do in 94, her first release, was a mega hit. It was on 24/7 for a long time. Part of her success was a good songwriter kinda like Tom Petty, Pettyish lyrics.
Brad's hooked. Looking forward to more Sheryl Crow. She's fantastic.
Thanks for sharing.
Yes, more Sheryl Crow please. It's all so good!
You seriously need to give her song Favourite Mistake a spin!
Supposedly that song is about Eric Clapton, her favorite mistake
I loved the music video when it broke on Much Music and VH-1. 💙
Wife here..Loved This back in the day!!.." I agree with the comment below..It says the key to the song ..."If it makes you happy why the hell are you so sad"...Brad and Lex..You two are always point on!!!.Thanks again..!!
Sheryl’s voice touched you in all the good spaces.
So glad you tried Sheryl Crow, this and Every day is a winding road are great in the car songs.. they can really lighten your mood.
Brad in love with my 2 fave female artists. Lovely stuff mate 👌.
Sheryl Crow is one of the great female artists. The album this song is off is sensational
I feel her voice and the words too. This feels written for me, it brings me to tears everytime. But yeah, the voice punches the message through so strong and yet so gentle and loving at the same time.
This doesn't get old. It's like a glass of the best wine ever.
Nearly every guy likes Sheryl Crow. She’s a proper musician and songwriter, she’s super cool and she’s gorgeous.
Her “Leaving Las Vegas” song was excellent also
She was a backing singer for MJ that flew the nest and went big...Strong Enough is a great track
"Every Day Is A Winding Road" is my favourite song of hers.
The woman knew how to write a great chorus. ☺️
The understated power of finely crafted rock’n’roll, with a good song and great singer. She and Melissa Etheridge are the female rock vocalists of that time, early ‘00’s, maybe back into the ‘90’s (?)
Nice energy between the two of you. Looked like you were reading the lyrics, along with them being up in the video. I like to see reactions on videos where part of the reaction is not knowing what the lyrics are and reacting to what you think you are hearing at first. To me it enhances the reaction and gives more of a first listen/reaction authenticity. In any case, nice videos, which is why I keep coming back!
You found another great artist .. also she's from a small town not too far from St Louis ( she was a music teacher in schools before her big career!)
Her “ My favorite mistake” is one of my favorite songs of all time
Cute 🥰 Sheryl Crow goes crazy 🤪
I saw her live twice - she sounds just like she’s in studio.
I love so many songs by Sheryl .She has a lot of them.
That smile on Brad’s face the first time she broke into the chorus-priceless
Great reaction - I saw Sheryl Crow at the Parkwest in Chicago when her career was just starting to take off!
Any song from her first three albums is a winner. Some really great stuff.
Shout out to Kevin Gilbert and his band Toy Matinee. "Last plane out"
And his solo release with “Fun” because Sheryl’s in the kitchen with the LA Lakers…..
brad said it best when he said "being happy is nice!" :D
Such an incredibly talented song writer.
Alanis, Sheryl and Shania just warm up my heart! Just so many good memories of my childhood I know I shouldn't be listening to some of the song at like 4 years old but not a native English speaker so it's all good.
Oh and Anastacia. But I was a little older by then
Sheryl is an amazing artist.
Love Sheryl Crow. I saw her in concert once. So good.
seen her in concert thus past weekend she is 60 years old and sounds just like this !
Saw her open for the Rollng Stones and damn it rocked !!! She has a ton of great songs !!!
I am so happy you 2 met and have said so for a few years now. Be Happy!
This song hits home with me. I had "The Kinda Girl You Don't Take Home" but she did make me happy and it wasn't that bad. She's gone now, but we both know we will always love each other.
Such a good chorus. And that country sound comes from the pedal steel guitar.
Another awesome 90's (and later) female rock vocalist. It's been over 25 years since that was released! There were so many then compared to now - where did they all go? And why are there hardly any replacements?
I could have sworn you all reacted to Sheryl Crow's "All I Wanna Do." She's a really great artist. She has a ton of hits & is wildly under-rated.
