First, I was sooo glad to find someone who understands my opposition to MS's guerrilla tactics! Second, you made me look like a techie and feel proud that I was successful! (A few people "winced" when I said I intended to bypass MS!)
Nice video👏👍 i refused to install win11, i will use (for gaming only) win 10 until eol. Then switch to linux/steamos. For anything else i use happily linux since many years, but this is personal. For many ppl linux unfortunately lacks features.☹️
Linux doesn't lack features it has way more features than Windows. I use Debian 11 and have it fully customised for gaming. (winehq) Developers don't make apps for Linux cause it's less popular.
@@UnknownPerson-tf4qd i meant linux as an ecosystem with apps, drivers and focus on large organisations. And it is naive to think linux is for everyone. It is still not.
Imagine having a service so cr*p that you are desperately pushing users to use it if they like it or not. But from what I hear some rumors that micros**it is actually making a local account difficult on pro editions (just like home) as if people really are rushing to use their account.
This video deserves more views, as more and more people are forced to use Windows 11 in the future. Anyways, is it possible that I can work on Japanese subtitles for this video?
I really hope you see this but when I press shift fn f10 it does not pop up and also I have tried just straight logging in with Microsoft account but it simply Tells me welcome and then refreshes my monitor and makes me restart my log in process
Did you try to click on the window? I noticed that it sometimes is not the active window after opening. Your keyboard should work as you could use it to open the command prompt.
@@jensdbe Thanks for your suggestion. I don't think I tried clicking inside the window. On some of the screens though, I could not click on buttons so I would have to press enter. On the Windows permissions page I could not click or drag the sliders. I forget how to do that with keystrokes. I think I wrote it down somewhere :) I'm going to put this laptop in a box and send it back. Thanks for your videos and have a wonderful day
i do have Internet, But it's a New Motheboard no LAN drivers, wifi nothing it's bear, would I be able to go threw the installation? not that I am just wondering. sounds better doing it like the first method, and Thank you very much for Sharing👍🏻
If my license to using Windows 10/11 is tied to my Microsoft email address i.e. I only have a digital license, Can I still use a local account with a fully legal copy of Windows? Or I'm forced to only use the online account option?
As far as I know, the license is linked to your hardware ID and not the Microsoft account you use to login. So if you have successfully activated Windows before on the same PC, you should be good to use a local account.
Is your last tip of converting MS accnt to a local/admin accnt (through settings/my info/sign in with local accnt instead) just as good as doing the work-around tips at set-up? Or is there a reason that it's better to work around signing in with MS accnt during the set-up process with your new computer?
The advantage is that you don't need an account at all if you avoid it during setup. You also don't need an internet connection for it at setup time. If you've already setup your device using the account, there isn't really any disadvantage to convert as far as I know.
This method will last for a while till Microsoft intervenes and prevents this method from working. Is there a way to install and run windows 10 on a computer pre installed with windows 11 computer when you boot it up for the first time without having to create Microsoft account? So when the computer starts up for the first time and it sets everything up on the installation screen, is there a way to install Windows 10 during or before that point, to avoid being forced to make a Microsoft account and not bother using Windows 11 in the first place? I'm not sure if there's a way to add windows 10 dual boot option to boot menu when you start up computer for first time before the set up.
As far as I know, activation is not linked to the Microsoft account. If you have a product code for Windows 7/8/10/11, you can activate with a local user without any issues.
Very good video, but nowadays the OOBE\BYPASSNRO command doesn't seem to work anymore. (At least not here.) I'm stuck on the internet bit of the windows config and can't find anything online.
Hmm, surprised to hear this. I used this last week (did a video on Windows 11 on Mac Pro 1,1) on Windows 11 22H2. I did use it on the pro version though.
@@jensdbe I don't think there was a Pro version here, there was only one option for windows on the drop-down menu from the VM software. I also couldn't open the command window, nor did my keyboard respond to anything. Sometimes I could open the run window and then search for cmd to open the command, but it stopped working. I've seen more people have that issue, but unfortunately, don't know why. All in all, your video was really explanatory and interesting.
Finally found the workaround for the /oobe command not working on another YT video. It has to be EXACTLY using appropriate upper and lower case letterS thusly: oobe\BypassNRO
On some devices the default action of the function keys is not F1, F2, F3,... but things like changing brightness or sound. In that case you will also nees to press the Fn key. So hold shift, hold Fn and press F10.
I cannot log into my Windows computer because it's asking me for some reason for a school email or a work email I woke up and I found my computer was logged out of my Microsoft account now it's asking me for a work email or a school email I can't log in with my personal email so now I'm permanently locked out of my computer
(1). Do you have to install the registered Windows11 account first though? (2). How does Office 365 work without a Win'11 account? (3). Also, if you install Windows as a local account, does Windows still do regular updates to the comp inc' using/upgrading 'Windows Defender' if that's the anti-virus you use? Thanks. 🙏
1) No need to first install using an online account 2) Office 365 just works fine without the account on Windows 11. You just login to Office 365, not to your Windows install. 3) Updates come in as normal.
they have changed a bit since this video came out. Now, I got a BitLocker notice, As well, they seem to use the term PIN and PASSWORD interchangeably - most confusing! Jeeze I hate what they have done! I bought a computer and know how to use my old one with or w/o the internet or an account with the OS provider. Corporations have way too much influence in Congress! Imagine we have to agree to arbitration and to waive our rights to participate in any class action suits in order to use the effing pc we paid good money for! And this, is better than socialism?
