The popular story is of Rama. But a day before Diwali is Naraka chaturdasi. This story of Narakasura is correct because it is celebrated when Narakasura was killed. Rama avatar was before Krishna avatar so it's not connected to story of Diwali.
@@annapurnavisalakshi8432 but why do celebrate ram here ? He suspected his wife and made her to show her virginity by walking in the wood of fire . Ravan’s sister was body shamed by laxman (ram’s brother) and chopped her nose when she proposed ram. Ravan didn’t touch Seetha for sexual pleasure and he just kidnapped Seetha to revenge ram about his mistake
@@akhilbnair2430 No. Diwali is celebrated on Amavasya, the day after Naraka chaturdasi. In the lunar calender a chaturdasi means day 14 of a fortnight. The amavasya following the chaturdasi is Diwali. So both are on different days. However Naraka chaturdasi is called choti diwali in the North India
