“Whip it out, boom, put it back in!” I’m crying. I don’t think I would have found this as hilarious as it is now if you hadn’t said that it sounds crazy after. Oh, man. My sick and twisted humor is not made for Sundays. 😂🤣
The Ulanzi WL-1 was one of the first accessories that I added to the ZV-1, right after the Vlog kit handle. It's worked great for the last 6 months since I installed it. The magnetic attachment is an awesome hack - thanks for sharing the tip! I use the SmallRig cage for the ZV-1 to be able to remove the battery (or use dummy battery) when mounted.
This is perfect! I just picked up the zv-1 and was reluctant to get the ulanzi and stick something so bulky/permanent on the front of the lens. This is much more sleek and convenient. Gonna check it out
The Ulanzi wide angle lens it wassup! Makes a difference at a decent price. So true about the batts, need extras for sure but the 3rd parties with the charger is a must! Excellent tips sir!👍🏾
I use the exact same setup. The only thing is I get nervous using it in crowded places where someone may bump the camera or lens which can knock it off. Also you have to make sure the magnet is seated correctly or it can get jolted off but yeah this is a clutch seat up.
hi what size of the magfilter should i get for ZV-1? is it 52mm or 55mm for using the Ulanzi wide angle lense? i just got my sony zv-1 few days ago. sorry im a newb to camera shooting
I was looking to get this wide angle lens for my vlogs, and this was literally the one thing I was iffy about. Thank you so much for telling me about this hack!
Your timing is AMAZING I almost bought another lens on Friday that I would hv had to screw in ...Love the magnet! Adding to cart🙌🏽 New Subscriber🙋🏽♀️Thank you😉
Wow man, awesome. I've been a pro for several years ad recently downsized to ZV-1 and ZV-E1 from FX-3, just don't need the FX-3 anymore. That MAG filter is so clutch man, great videos subscribed.
When you’re on the go just using that little bag with your zv1 in it, do you even find yourself using the Ulanzi stick? I’m trying go as minimal as possible but it does seem having a tripod and extension would be helpful, and not having to get the wide angle lens. Or , I get the wide angle and not bother with a stick. Maybe just get a mini tripod. Just curious what you use the most on a day to day basis
@@TerryWarfield thanks ! May I ask when you go minimal, what have you found to be the fastest thing to use ? Do you have like an arca swiss plate and toss it on a joby gorilla pod or something ? Just wondering if the handle you are using fits into a little pouch along with the camera. Or if you just hold just the camera itself when you vlog.
Great job. My wife has the the Sony ZV1 and she uses it for vlogging and photos as well. I could see myself using it also. So It’s nice to know tools like this exist. Would’ve been great to see some B-roll footage of you using the wide angle and the difference it makes in the FOV!
*I think it's the perfect Size for Content creator w/o having to bring a lens. But you can use a Crane M2 which is what I use and Never have to worry about stabilization on it.*
I'm so sad! I bought the mag filter 52mm threaded ring and I have the Sony ZV1-F and the magnetic adapter ring sits on the inside of the camera lense so the magnet will not attach. 😢 I would need the magnet to be quite a bit bigger in diameter to attach to the outside of the camera lense. I hope Amazon will let me return it.
Have a few magfilters laying around from a used RX100V lot. Didn't know that it had a step-up ring adapter. Mine only came with a CPL filter, pretty much useless for my use case.
UURig (Ulanzi) also makes a great cage for the ZV-1. It has a built-in plate for Arca-Swiss compatible tripods and an Arri Locating Hole, which allows you to attach a handle without having to use screws. It's nicer than the Smallrig cage for those reasons.
The link you shared for the Magfilter adapter sends you to one in Amazon but it doesn't list the Sony Z-V1 for compatibility :( Does that mean they don't make them anymore for the Sony Z-V1?
seems pretty clutch for the mag attachment. Especially since I just wanted to keep a filter on the ulanzi thread to keep dust off of my lense doors. My last P&S camera from sony got dust in the lense door and I had to help it open when using the camera.
It's 2024 and the MAGfilter adapter is $39.99 on Amazon. I am interested because I have a Sony HX99 and I think it would fit my camera too. BTW: I gave this video a 👍.
great vid! I decided to return the ZV-1 the wide angel lens added too much weight and size to the camera defeating the whole purpose of the zv1 in the first place. Camera does take great video though.
Subscribed & thank you for video. Watched a video where you talked about HLG3. Could you go into a little more detail on it? I own the ZV1 & E10. Would love to match the footage once I know the settings & basic leeming lut editing. Thank you for all the videos you make! 🙏🏼
I been using the ulanzi with the 3m tape mount and all that, and its okay BUT i do hate how i'm stuck with the mount on the front of the camera even if im not using the lens. It makes the camera bulkier and way less sleek and feels dumb in my pocket. wish i wouldve seen this before i applied it.
So after watching this video I have ordered the ring (magnetic) and cleaned the lens (after removing the default ulanzi ring) let it stick for a day and screwed the wl-1 to the magnetic ring and attached it to the camera. Today I used the camera in this combination for the day for a boat ride with a colleague. The lens dropped 4 times. the ring was still attached to the camera it is really the magnet who got loose. So my experience with this. Now I will return this solution and I ordered the neewer 18m lens. This is my personal experience so maybe somebody has a really good experience with this set, that is also ok. For me it doesn't work. Also I had a strange thing that when adding a ND filter I could see the rounds in the corners of the image (from the ND filter) really strange. But still thanx for this video it inspired me to try it!
@@TerryWarfield yeah it was a bit disappointing. It would be a different story if the metal ring (attached with the M3 strip) would come loose, but it is the magnet. Do you also use a ND filter with this setup? I have the K&F concept ND filter added. maybe it did get to heavy.
love all your videos, i am a fan of your work, but your audio in this setup is far behind your potential. way too tinny and echo-y. i normally wouldn't say anything, but everything else you do its in the top tear, gotta bring your audio game up IMO. no hating, i love your work! big big fan, I'm inspired by all your videos!
Have you tried the new camera Bluetooth vlog stick remote that Smallrig recently came out with? I think it’s dope and has more features than the Sony one. Maybe check it out
@@AJCoReTV I’m not referring to the Sony or Ulanzi one. Smallrig made one that has all the functionality of the Sony remote but it also extends and works with not only Sony cameras but other camer systems as well
@@AJCoReTV It's not zooming a touch man it's zooming so much that it becomes as wide as the original lens What's the point of spending cash to get these crappy results when you would do much better with the ulanzi adapter
I found this two years later. I still love my ZV-1. I'm excited about the MAGFilter... it should be arriving tomorrow!
Thanks! Had the idea but found the filtersize of the ulanzi nowhere in the internet.
You are a trip, man. Love your style, and your recommendations. Keep up the great work!

Adding these items to my cart! Leveling up that ZV-1 setup. 💯
That option is sick. Makes everything so much easier. But here's hoping the ZV-1 Mark II has a wider lens.

i think you should try 55mm. I bought 52mm and it did not fit perfectly. It causes 4 black corners :(
What a great video! You had me smiling at you while learning something for my ZV1 at the same time! Thank you!
Whoaaaa the Mag Filter is a game changer 🙌 👏 Thank you so much for this video.

What a great option. Solid video Terry! Sone great sound bites here as well 🤣🤣🤣 Thanks for bringing the heat and have a blast in Vegas!
I dont have a Zv1 but these accessories seem like a must have. I'm also guilty of recommending Sony batteries but also using third party ones myself 😅
I love the Ulanzi wide angle, but I tried this Magfilter and was disappointed. The magnet wasn’t strong enough to hold it on, had to send it back.

Love your Vibe Man! and thanks for the Tips. The only thing I didn't like about my ZV-1 was the Wide Angle and this will fix it.
Yo that magnet is dope. The wide Angle is a must and this is perfect to help.
Any suggestions for adding a nd filter to this solution?
That is dope. I have my lens and waiting for my camera to arrive. Glad I seen this. Thanks for sharing brother.
Does magfilter adapter work on if you flip the Ulanzi lens around for macro?
Bro i can't find the lil ulanzi tripod, what's the name of that?
Hey Terry do you shoot full manual or do you use one of the auto menus when you are vlogging ? Thanks !
Manual with auto iso

Nope to be honest. I like to keep the ZV1 as little as possible. If I’m going to rig it out I may as well just get out one of my larger camera
