The reason this works (other than that Radiohead and ESAS are both amazing groups of musicians), is the complex basslines of Radiohead's music. They enable the bass player for ESAS to carry the groove, which is what's essential to any good reggae music. For some reason, I love it when the guitar upstrokes kick back in at 4:08 during the 'rain down' section. Awesome basslines going on here!
Wow! I loved Dub Side of the Moon, and this album is just as good! It is so nice and mellow, while keeping the core of the song solid and faithful to the original!

Heard this alot at the weekend at a shambala festival..and i have to agree it does work...even though no one does it as good as the original.......but do like it Alot...many thanks for the up-load ;)
I've meet my actual love listening this song on her past work, when i ask in the room of that bar who plays this song and nobody knew it, so unexpected she told me who play this cover, and i'm just fall in love with her lovely dreads.
Say! This is a really good cover. They made it work and it sounds very good. It's not easy pulling off a good cover of a great song but this group did it.
+hungout2dry44 Well, it's much more shallow than the first one for sure, thinking about the depth of instruments. Maybe you dig more about the reggae-rhythms. I take this is a tribute to the original version and it's not putting it to shame. Check out some stuff from Radiohead "from the basement" and enlighten yourself about what kind of musicians they are. Peace, rastaman.
I've been listening to Radiohead and Pink Floyd longer than you think.I don't limit myself to just one style of music .As for it being a tribute you are right .It was also done to bridge the gap in styles of music. Never assume something before you reason it out with me..I grew up listening to punk rock .Bad Brains was my band of the 80s an still is to this day

@dhpmathmusic I listened back to it, and I realized you're right. I was shocked before because I thought you were referring to the whole song, which clearly is in 4/4
I LOVE Radiohead, but I love this too. I can see that although its a cover, its a great cover and has a lot of talent in its own right. Go: Easy Star All-Stars! =]
Thought it works pretty well - particularly after the 1st chorus...surprised u didn't think so...espec. if pretty baked! Then again if your not a Radiohead fan, guess thats enough of a reason. I like 'em & Pink Floyd & Beatles - Easy Stars do a great job with Dub Side of the Moon for sure! :)
@Somestupidloser its just an opinion. Its not something I wished for. "There all uptight"....!! Its not like you made the album. You just have the fortunate choice of listening to it. I think the reggae trwist gives it another dimension. The only thing lost is that Thom Yorke doesnt do backing vocals on a couple of the songs. That would of been nice.
I enjoy this cover, especially the way they handled the third section. Granted, it's really easy to make that section sound gorgeous, but I love their take on it nonetheless.
@Hxoi He already said that he liked it... ""In a rare moment of onstage chatter, Yorke said he listened to Toots & the Maytals version of "Let Down" from the upcoming 'Radiodread.' It's good,' he said.""
nope, Thom is singing in his head voice and using falsetto for this song.. that, to me, is a really important part... so i sorta kinda agree with that guy.
@dhpmathmusic it actually sounds like its in 7/4 because it sounds like the quarter note pulse doesnt change and we're just counting to 7 beats, if im not mistaken?\
@PhoneHomeProduction Really - You need to be more open-minded. I thought The Beatles and reggae would never mix until I heard some mash-ups and it was some of the best stuff i've heard.
it is , although I think its being played in the same key, its just the voice, like when she sings what's thereee... she's hitting an A instead of an E
I agree but i think DUB SIDE OF THE MOON worked the best due to its slower tempos and vast style of pink floyd that fit Dub really easily. Radiodread and the Beatles one both work but not quite as good.
@stooge81 go to the hospital, there you will find help. In my professional medical opinion as doctor keary i think its wise you get these vices tended to before you hurt yourself or others. Please inform me of how you get along.
this album acts as a perfect middle ground for when your baked and wanna listen to radiohead and your pals just wanna listen to blazing music. love it
When you're chill af but also undergoing an existential crisis
Isn't that the story with everyone who carefully considers their existence?
Right on, top comment!
This cover of Paranoid Android is a masterpiece.
It’s my fave Radiohead song, and WOW this is brilliant!
When the brass section kicked in I fell in love.
wow, what a great cover. really made it their own.
they always got great covers
"Jah love his children" gives me the chills every-fuckin-time

Why am I just now hearing about this 15 years after it was released?
just enjoy, coming back after 12 years
16 years
Love this album. Very well done, and they seemed to respect the music they were covering
how can something be this good?
Wow! I loved Dub Side of the Moon, and this album is just as good! It is so nice and mellow, while keeping the core of the song solid and faithful to the original!
hard to find good music these days! BRAVO :)

The original is amazing and this is so amazinger.

+hungout2dry44 no way in hell this is better than the original.
"Fearless Vampire Killers" is one of the best songs ever written. I'm guessing that you've heard Shai Hulud's excellent cover version too?

@dhpmathmusic I listened back to it, and I realized you're right. I was shocked before because I thought you were referring to the whole song, which clearly is in 4/4
Holy cow. Well done. I don't mind RH covers. At all.
this is amazing
absolutely awesome.
This makes so much sense!
I LOVE Radiohead, but I love this too. I can see that although its a cover, its a great cover and has a lot of talent in its own right. Go: Easy Star All-Stars! =]
esto me trae ultra buenos recuerdos de mis 16 años. 💜💜💜💜💜💜 haha. yieeahh!! 😎😎😎🔥
IMAGINATE MI HERMANO ME CONVIDO A FUMAR Y DESPUES SE HIZO POLICIA
Thought it works pretty well - particularly after the 1st chorus...surprised u didn't think so...espec. if pretty baked! Then again if your not a Radiohead fan, guess thats enough of a reason. I like 'em & Pink Floyd & Beatles - Easy Stars do a great job with Dub Side of the Moon for sure! :)
GENIAL!!! bien hecho!! i have the whole cd with radiohead covers!
Didn't ever think a cover could give me goosebumps like the original!
Este cover es magnifico.
Pollis nunca te olvidare, eres el amor de mi vida. 💚💛❤️🖤
It's just so damn groovy
Fuck yeah!!! Awesome cover to my fave band's music! Luv it luv it..well done, no one else could cover Thom Yorke like this band..WTF incredible!
God... I feel like sleeping smoking or holding the one I love... the first time I hear this version and I'm already downloading it
Hermosura de canción!!! uff que delicia!
The dub drop at 3:35 , super smooth ....and when the guitar skank comes back in at 4:07 ...nice!

Nice cover..
Hay canciones que simplemente son buenas
I enjoy this cover, especially the way they handled the third section. Granted, it's really easy to make that section sound gorgeous, but I love their take on it nonetheless.

Great song!
@ Somestupidloser yeah spot on, you just said it yourself. Its all down to the persons individual taste.
This made me understand radiohead.

i just fill awesome!!!
i love that transition at 2:00
oh shit! ...when that guitar skank comes back in at 4:08...sooo heavy. sick
This is great, im not shure about the principal voice.. but is a great work
Excellant version!
Freakin love it
@iamjonnyhaha Curious, I thought of Portishead, the vocals reminded me somehow to Beth Gibbons.
amazing cover, nothing else to say!
good cover, have seen 'em live at 2008 )
Mind=Blown
so special
My absolute favorite part.
E' Strano che mi piaccia una cover, specie di questo gruppo, specie di questa canzone,e manco er reggae me piace.... devono esse bravi....
Is it wierd that I like this version better than the original?
Es solo apreciación musical, cada quien le puede gustar la versión que quiera, en lo particular a mi me pasa lo mismo me gusta mas este cover.
Luis Ramirez me tew.
Not at all. I actually prefer their cover of Billie Jean because it sounds as if it came from a grimy crime movie.
nope, Thom is singing in his head voice and using falsetto for this song..
that, to me, is a really important part...
so i sorta kinda agree with that guy.
good cover dis
well done
Que Buena canción :) !!
@dhpmathmusic it actually sounds like its in 7/4 because it sounds like the quarter note pulse doesnt change and we're just counting to 7 beats, if im not mistaken?\
Smoke a joint and stick this on when its a nice hot day and get some juice and ice...............just fucking awesome
@PhoneHomeProduction Really - You need to be more open-minded. I thought The Beatles and reggae would never mix until I heard some mash-ups and it was some of the best stuff i've heard.
brilliant. fukin love it
it is , although I think its being played in the same key, its just the voice, like when she sings what's thereee... she's hitting an A instead of an E
@jaheyes1 it was in response to someone's comment, i don't even know what it means now!
This is better, not a huge fan of some of their other covers of Radiohead but this one is pretty flair
woooooooooow :)
Esse som é muito irado.
I would like to hear Thom Yorke 's opinion about this.I I'd love to hear he likes it.
I agree but i think DUB SIDE OF THE MOON worked the best due to its slower tempos and vast style of pink floyd that fit Dub really easily. Radiodread and the Beatles one both work but not quite as good.
tuneezzz
is a verry good!
Futuristic
OF COURSE
Will I be haunted and hacked if I expressed my disappointment with 5Gs?
@Ducttaper i disagree. but this is just as cool
the vocals are by larry zybisko of WCW
Kirsty Rock's voice is so beautiful
@reCupcake I think this version is waaaaaaaay better than the original!!!!!
@stooge81 go to the hospital, there you will find help. In my professional medical opinion as doctor keary i think its wise you get these vices tended to before you hurt yourself or others. Please inform me of how you get along.
❤
@sketis2012 i found this substitution sort of disturbing
@jay123321321 Answering a comment from a year ago? about downloading music? seriously? critizicing that in 2010?
@Sebastifariaan what that supposed to mean?.... most of us dont wanna hear a american falsetto....
