Hi! The suit has an antenna range of 200m. Since the large antenna on your base was switched on and set to 5000m, your suit used its range. That´s why you lost connection to the drone at 5k.
I use autopilot for mining. I have severe distracted while flying issues so a couple of waypoints between mine and base and near dock keeps me from crashing into base or random features.
its very handy i use it on my mining ships to auto fly to the base sorter and connect ( no scripts or any mod here cant even get those XD) after i mine to its cargo weight limit i use it with few timer blocks so it safely fly & docks at base without risk of crashing or overshooting the base XD
When I try to stabalize my ship, it just doesn't wanna be stable. It floats around, but the "Up" thrusters are working just fine, it's the rest that aren't being controlled. What am I doing wrong?

Hey man, can is use autopilot to just go up and down? I want to make a precise vertical landing booster.
Autopilot will go which ever way the remote is pointing.

I ended up building a missile that I can send from my base that's right above a planet down on my buddies mining operations works well
