- In Laura Bow's second and final mystery, The Dagger of Amon Ra, Laura is sent to investigate the theft of the titular valuable Egyptian dagger at the Leyendecker museum in New York City. Just like in The Colonel's Bequest, murders begin happening and everyone in the locked down museum is a suspect. Can Laura figure out who is behind the murders before she becomes the next victim?

I bought the game when it was released many years ago, for some reason I couldn't play through it, after talking to all the characters in the main hall of the museum they were all gone and I couldn't go into any other room.
I tried many times and was very thorough and methodical, never found out what went wrong.
Thanks to your review I finally got to know what happened next and how it ended, I never knew it was a murder plot but thought it was just a theft mystery…
Yeah this one is really interesting with the fact that you kind of CAN'T do and see everything because of the running clock, making it very difficult to finish it actually.

Theres something about that old 90s MIDI music. Kinda analagous to old silent movies, where the music was performed live as the film played. How it sounded depended greatly on your sound card, but a three minute song would only be like 75kb.
I like that comparison and completely agree there's still a charm to them even now that we have an orchestra scoring every single AAA game that comes out.

you know i love these games but kind of a problem i have with it is that i think there are too many murders to the point where i think finding out the killer is too obvious this applys to cornels bequest too but i still like the games anyway does this bother you or no
Yeah it's a fair point. Midway through the game the list of suspects is considerably murdered down so there's not really that big twist.
