- In this full playthrough of the Clue-like The Colonel's Bequest from Sierra, the first of the two Laura Bow Mysteries, Laura Bow accepts the invitation of her friend college friend Lillian to visit her wealthy uncle's sugar plantation for the weekend. After Lillian's uncle, Colonel Dijon, reads his will out to the family, tensions lead to bickering which boils over into murder. Laura attempts to put the clues together to discover who is behind the murders and save her own skin in the process in this Roberta Williams whodunit classic.

This was such a good LP! This game scared the CRAP out of me when I was a kid (I literally learned to type in the early 90s for LB1, QfG2 and KQ4) and I honestly still find the series super creepy. I adore nostalgia watching old school Sierra Let's Plays, I'm so glad I stumbled onto your channel!!!

Strange to say this, but, when the St. Louis Cathedral popped-up around the 3min mark….all I could think was, “These graphics are awesome!”, looking at the flowers and Laura on the bench, not the cathedral. Lol. I remember making our own “cheat guides” to King’s Quest games that we created with black construction paper 5 1/4, when we were kids. Sierra’s creativity was so great, that it gave us a little creativity. And Dungeons and Dragons…we would walk up and down the mountain, playing it out loud as we walked, fighting Manananananan, from KQ3. Lol. “You rolled a …..3….You are a now cat”
And definitely a KQ4 vibe. Similar graphics, as well. The transition from 3 to 5, on the SNES. When I had to pull myself away from ‘Civilization’, because my family was yelling at me to eat. “Put it in the microwave. I’m not hungry. I will eat later!”
Haha on the Civilization bit; I have a pretty much identical memory. And yeah these games were made in succession basically so it makes sense that they share so much in common.
AS a native of New Orleans don't get me started on the stupidity of a Basment in a Bayou.
Apparently you have an abandonware version of the game that was cracked to make the copy protection at the beginning always the same print, but it breaks the other RNG in the game. The chandelier isn't supposed to dangle constantly and the shadows in the window are only supposed to show up like 5% of the time.
That's entirely possible; I pulled it from an old computer so I have no idea when I got this copy.
Too bad Laura and Gabriel Knight were not contemporaries.

Seems like the video is a few seconds behind the audio
Maybe in a couple of spots; it looked okay in a few spots I noticed. Actually not that much audio throughout which almost adds to the creepiness of some of the scenes.
