This was an incredible game! Great story and great graphics and music! We bought it on floppy so our version didn't have the speech for all the characters but it did have the sound blaster digital sound effects. The music in the speakeasy just stunned us back then.
Thank you so much for posting this! This was my favorite game of all time and cant find it with the voice acting anywhere to replay, so this is the best next thing! Thanks again!
People strolling casually past the dead bodies of their companions, in a locked museum, through the middle of the night. No big deal, no panic, oh it’s just a body lying there decapitated and stabbed by a pterodactyl. 😆 Lol
I love Dr Carrington’s office and the music in it. But, a stuffed porcupine? And a desk surface is not the most practical place to display it lol. (Ah well made for an interesting murder though)
Figuring the correct ending to the game, these kids have no clue how hard shit was back in the day. I could never beat the game let alone put the ending riddles together! The coroners inquest is like a dissertation to me!
I always thought Carmen Sandiego from the original 94 series during her transition from an orphaned girl lost in the world to badass detective, would be somebody like Laura Bow. Also, kudos to the big lesbian energy with the flapper and Laura in the speakeasy.
Man the steak joke got real old real fast Once was a chuckle but having to wait _every_ time you wanted to enter the alcohol vat room had to be infuriating.
It's one of those things they did just because they could, like full-motion video. All the games of a certain era had to have it all of a sudden, even though it was almost always awful.
Ok I figured out why... The writer "Josh" self inserted himself into the plac of Steve. For such an interesting, quirky story that's where it definitely felt a bit too off.

The best part is when Laura is subtly eavesdropping with her hand cupped to her ear lmao. I love the humor in these games.
This one traumatized me as a kid! So cool to watch it after so many years. A lot more innuendo than I remember, lol. Thank you for uploading this!
46:30 get me off guard - risque for sure in a game from that era
My childhood! Ahhhhh! I feel so old!
Don’t touch it! You don’t know where it’s been.
*Laura Bow’s Purse:* The Original TARDIS
"You pick up" this comment "and place it in your purse". 😀🥰
I pick this video up, and place it in my purse.
wow so much of this game flew over my head as a kid.
the flapper with the Mae West voice is hilarious

It's on GOG. The CD version has the voice actors.
@@Jasin2069 Yep, playing it now.

this lady will put anything in her purse!
As a New Yorker...I find this offensive. We only mug at night...lol
LOL I know, when she got of the train and the guy stole her luggage, I did not know if to be offended or to laugh... I laughed
Remember, this was set in the 20s, when hard working muggers operated at all hours. XD
I love the way the narrator says *blood*
How convenient, having both speech and text boxes.
"You pick it up, and put it in your purse."
46:39 I had never heard about this series and clicked on this moment randomly to see what it looked like. That was unexpected for a 1992 game.
I love Dr Carrington’s office and the music in it.

The actor playing Ziggy is just ad-libbing unwritten dialog. 39:40
3:06:10 - 3:06:31 🤢 🥩 👜
🤔”you pick it up and place it in your purse”😆
Ben Jordan Skunk Ape Deluxe has that line in it. Never knew it was a reference to this game.
Haa....i remember this game when i young age....i looking for it...is been 20 years
Looove it.
Loved getting hit by cars in the beginning, loved all the murders at the end 😂 That shit scared the hell outta me 💀
I always thought Steve Dorian’s voice was soooo lowwww
Figuring the correct ending to the game, these kids have no clue how hard shit was back in the day. I could never beat the game let alone put the ending riddles together! The coroners inquest is like a dissertation to me!
I never was able to get past the first part of this game, I always ended up dying xD
Loved this game, even with the original glitches. Hard to do the whole book reference thing though. IT becomes too much very early in the game.
What book referencing thing?
I’m geussing atleast early 90s this game was made
This museum must have been designed by MC Echer.
Lo Fat's voice actor sounds like he's from South Park.
Welcome to City Wok.
1:51:10 in case you don't want to sit through almost 2 hours of dialogue. great game, excellent video
Ripper, thanks mate!
Thank you very much
(If you ever say your welcome say it to jesska as well)
you're all very welcome! and no worries. i'm just happy more people know about this game (that's getting a sequel soon!)
dude, this is cool
Thank you
ah so buggy but i ll give a chance again. childhood games.
How the heck does she fit all that junk in her tiny purse?
I don't remember this game allowing both text and speech simultaneously. Was this patched?
It's a feature made possible by playing in on ScummVm.
4:00:00 Another hieroglyph. 🤔
so ah laura ... maybe a tip about eavesdropping ... don't be so obvious and to not add to the conversation you're getting the drop on
awesome!

Dr. Tut Smith sounds like Apu from The Simpsons
Love these games, but forgot just how terrible the voice acting was. Or maybe I just didn't notice as a kid.

Steve Dorian's voice actor doesn't fit the face.
Ok I figured out why... The writer "Josh" self inserted himself into the plac of Steve.

3:15:28 I see you lost your patience here
3:36:30 and here LOL
5:35 What are you doing to your daughter in the open area?
Why does it look so much more pixelated for me? I got the game on GOG.
I used a filter
@AndreaPannocchia what type of filter?
This game was not so good as the Colonel's Bequest. I wish there was a remake of Colonel with the graphics of Amon Ra.
Agree - wish there was a remake of the first one!
I never got to play this game but had colonel bequest on Amiga 500, and from the looks of this, bequest did have a better storyline
High speed of walking will cut time of this video by an hour....
i dont like this they dont pick things up its all talk
