    If anyone is feeling daunted by reading Shakespeare, pick up a copy of the Folger Shakespeare Library edition (all of the plays are available in inexpensive paperback editions). Folger is great because they provide a summary at the beginning of each scene and a wealth of helpful notes on both language and context on each facing page. Fantastic path to a deeper understanding and greater enjoyment. Cheers! (Oh, also, the 4-hour Kenneth Branagh film version of Hamlet is terrific and virtually the complete text, I believe.)

      I second this. The Folger records are great.

    Great idea! I guess I’ll dust off my copy of Hamlet.

      Dust on books is an unfortunate thing - hope you get a chance to delve in!

    Count me in. I have read it a few times before and I have seen a stage adaptation back in the 90s. I also own a copy.

      Excellent! I look forward to your thoughts on a reread!

    Count me in. I've only read it once, so a reread will be great.

      Not as fun as your comic gems, but certainly an enjoyable reread.

      @@DavidWiley7 I had proposed to myself to finish it before February but now I would consider it an achievement if I’m finished before March hahaha

    I would like to join you in the read along David. Are you going to be on Voxer? Or somewhere else? Let me know the details. Thanks for doing this.

      @DavidWiley7  6 місяців тому +1

      Sorry Bill, I fell way behind on, well, everything! I suppose a Voxer group might be a great idea. I'll make an announcement tonight when I talk about Act 1!

    I'm in, even though this is the first time I've heard of "Hamlet". I guess it's about a small town or something?

    • @DavidWiley7
      @DavidWiley7  6 місяців тому +1

      Exactly, the tragedy of a small town! Or something like that...

    You don't have a lot of time .........'Brevity is the soul of wit.' (Hamlet!).

      A better planner would have found a way to sneak that into the video, huh? That's the problem with filming as inspiration strikes!
