    what a fantastic video of problems that could go completely wrong, but using ways to think it through. I was holding my breath when you pushed the wrench after the heat. i could have sworn i saw the easy out start to twist. i could see it snapping. GREAT JOB

    Everyone is learning , I lwiould recommend with oil or hydraulic fluid or diesel , fill the filter before install especially if vertical and it is more important with large filters so you don't run your pumps dry.

      That's what JD told me also. Now holding that sucker full of oil and screwing it on it another story. I do this on my motot oil on my diesel truck also.

    Always tap plug with punch and hammer to release those plugs

    To late now but for future reference. use a tie down strap to remove filter. Wrap it around the filter couple times the tie a breaker bar,extension,etc. in strap then twist until tight use bar to loosen. I had to do this yesterday after channel locks wouldn't work.

      If you have HALF A FUCKING BRAIN, You won’t follow this losers ignorant approach to mechanical maintenance ! UA-cam is FULL OF LOSERS TEACHING INNOCENT PEOPLE DUMB FUCKING METHODS & APPROACHES TO MECHANICAL WORK ! So, I have coined this exact phenomenon “The Dumb-Fucker disease” ! Because it’s dumb fuckers like this loser who spreads his dumb fucking disease to poor, ignorant individuals JUST LIKE YOURSELF ! And then you do the SAME FUCKING THING...by showing some other poor son of a bitch, the same ignorant, dumb-fucking, LOSER methods to other poor, innocent & also ignorant LOSERS ! Who do the same
      fucking thing !!! The ONLY WAY to break this loser disease, is to take the time & find someone who DOES KNOW HOW TO PERFORM MECHANICAL MAINTENANCE THE CORRECT WAY !!!! WE HAVE TO END THE SPREAD OF IGNORANCE !!!!

    Some auto parts sale a filter wrench like a seat belt that takes a 1/2 drive ratchet. I use mine on every filter. And a torque wrench fits right on it

    Try a 24 inch pipe wrench next time and get your 70 back, also check out the napa brand hydraulic transmisson fluid, it meets the same specs as the jd hy gaurd and napa is a lot cheaper if your farming on a budget.

    Re metric allen - you sure it's not a hex driver? Plug over cylindrical screen had that on my JD400. Whole set was only about $10 at Harbor freight. Mine was stuck too - gave it a couple wacks with hammer and it came right out then.

    A couple beers did the trick. I wonder if a good dose of PB Blaster left on overnight might do the trick on the stuck plug.

    • @WorldsOkayestFarmer
      @WorldsOkayestFarmer  6 років тому

      samuel valle Have you done anything to it yet? Make sure if you haven't changed the fuel filter in a while it's good. Other then that have someone check the compression of your cylinders. How many hours on it? Does it have the proper hydraulic fluid in it? It could be a bunch of different things.

    Problem with ez out is they swell the plug outward like a tapered peg in a beer barrels , if you had snapped off the ez out which is probably to hard to drill , oh boy that s bad . I would have been tempted to drill a hole in the plug with the proper size bit and tapped 3/8 or 1/2 inch pipe threads and screwed in a pipe plug . Although one must be careful not to snap off the tap , this too would sucketh

    • @WorldsOkayestFarmer
      @WorldsOkayestFarmer  3 роки тому +1

      it was a large ez out would take a lot to break it

    • @Badwolf6466
      @Badwolf6466 Рік тому

      you are correct sir. EZ out is for snapped bolts not seized bolts. wrong application. If it had broke, He would be is a world of mess. very lucky because he had a cheater pipe on it.

Also replacing the glow plugs and harnesses. speedometer quit working and has a power steering fluid leak. Hope its back up and running soon.

    Hi. Thanks for making this video. I am new to this Tractor. Does this tractor have separate transmission oil you need to change?

    • @WorldsOkayestFarmer

      They share the same transmission oil. Im not a huge fan of the idea because if you have a implement that leaks you could destroy your tractor if you dont pay attention

    Should've used a big ass pair of channel locks. Or a pair of oil filter channel locks. Then when u was using the easy out i was screaming heat it please. If you would've broken a easy out in that it you would've had a hell of a time getting it out lol. Great job though.

      I've definitely done what you did in this video as well. Putting a hole in and getting it off with a screwdriver or anything i can get in it. So i totally know the frustration of it not coming off like it's supposed to. We always can look back and say should've could've and would've but at the time you just want it off lol.

    I don't always mumble the words Class Action Law Suit to myself.
    But when I do the kings of corporate gouging at John Deere regularly cross my mind.
    Letting their suppliers use the scientifically selected cheapest dirtiest rubber for their oil filter gaskets, gets you 10,000 fold in profits later on.
    It sucks when good engineers are coerced into playing the planned obsolescence / slash / let us require that you purchase special tools for every DIY service you attempt to do yourself.
