    Dr. Tynan is amazing. She's a must-see for anyone taking or thinking about taking a glp1. I've been on mounjaro for 21 months and lost 185 lbs. I was 480 lbs and now 295 lbs. Mounjaro helped relieve my joint pain and has healed my heart. I'm no longer taking blood pressure medication. It's improved my brain fog n I feel like my brain is functioning like I was 20 years old. I strength train days a week and 45-minute daily walk. I feel amazing and blessed.

      Omg, I was 485 June 2023, started Mounjaro and never went above 5mg, after 3 months started weight training. I do keto/carnivore. I am down to 278 as of today. Great job you did, I know how you feel now. I also stopped weighing regularly. I just buy one size smaller shirt and try it on every week. Then I know I am changing because with weight lifting, the weight loss slows but body composition changes

    Love Dr Tyna, her extensive research and how she communicates the health benefits of GLP-1s. People who have never had a weight issue, metabolic issue or major heath issue don’t “get it” and are incredibly judgmental. When you have literally tried everything to get healthy and it doesn’t work and your body works against you and you have a peptide that will assist you in making and adhering to a healthier lifestyle this is not a discipline issue it’s a GLP deficiency. “Meet the patient where they are at and give them a leg up” Keep getting the good word out Dr Tyna 💪

At my last appointment, he suggested Wegovy, im at the beginning dose, and that's where he and I feel I should stay. I've lost 37lbs since march 1st, walking 3 miles a day, doing yoga and I have recently started lifting weights, I have been using an infrared sauna 3 days a week, and red light therapy 3 days a week. The Brand names like Ozempic and Mounjaro do not offer micro doses because they come preloaded in an injection pen with a full dose of the GLP1. Only a compounding pharmacy can provide you with the generic GLP1 in a small micro does. Usual comes in a vile you will draw out your own small portion.

Fortunately I came across a practice close to me. Dr Gregorson was amazing and he agree with all I was learning from Dr Tyna. He put me on a small dose of GPL 1 and educated me to how to self regulate the peptide under his supervision. He’s also checking thyroid , hormones, and insulin resistance.. I took my first dose today and so far so good. I have severe lipedema and am 50 lbs overweight at age 73. I’m excited to see how that helps overall health. So thanks to you I’ve been motivated to search out a good doctor and go on the journey to feeling better after years of being overweight.

      I’m a couple of months in and the appetite suppression is effective for me at 2.5 per week. I resisted increasing the dosage whist it was working ok at the starter dose. Partly that is financial as why keep increasing the cost each month if you don’t have to. Also eventually I want to come off so that should be easier from lower doses. Finally the conversation around muscle loss and malnutrition suggests to me that higher doses than what is absolutely necessary is actually going to be counter productive.

    I went on 2.5 shot of Monjaro at 345 pounds 07/19/2024 and, before taking it, I would stop every time I went out to buy something sweet or just eat something because I couldn't control my hunger. While I was on it I had no cravings and absolute control of the amount of food I ate, but best of all, I could wait to eat. I went down to 339 in 2 weeks on that single shot. A lot of it was water weight according to the nurse but I know some of it was other weight. It felt good not to be bloated and have self control. What I did not like was that my digestion slowed and I was thirsty as ever. No amount of water helped. I stopped taking it after the first week because I was worried about the long term effects on my digestive system (I have diverticulosis), and the dehydration factor. Listening to Tyna helped calm these worries, as she says its short-term and once we stop taking it the digestive system does regulate. My question is how to control the dehydration? I am now 341 on 8/25/2024,1 month and 1 week later. I can still control my hunger better than prior to taking Monjaro.

I'm supposed to do an increased dose tomorrow but I'm going to call my doctor first about increasing it. They sold me 4 doses to keep refrigerated and take once a week, increasing on the third week. I have minor nausea the first day and then it weans away. I'm praying I am doing this right. I am short and have large muscles so I will be doing Pilates instead of weights, to lengthen my muscles and keep them strong. I eat mostly meat so I should be good with my protein intake.

  • @jonb9194
    @jonb9194 3 місяці тому +3

    Great discussion, and I agree that the muscle loss from Ozempic is consistent with starvation. The food companies are coming out with high protein foods specifically for people taking the GLP-1 agonist drugs. However, protein encourages the body to produce natural GLP-1 hormone, and protein doesn't effectively build muscle or prevent muscle breakdown without physical activity It seems like a low dose of the GLP-1 agonist drug with a workout regimen might work, if overeating is the cause of their weight gain.

I am a recent fan of Dr. Tyna (thats how I found you) and the two of you together should be something permanent (maybe a quarterly Gabby / Tyna cast :-) ) . But your question is so specific it *really* needs a qualified doctor familiar with your history to answer. Go to your GP and ask for/ insist on a referral to a weight loss clinic (you can only be prescribed GLP1s on the NHS through these clinics). You’ll have a hell of a wait but it’s the only safe way. And it shd be free for you 😊 Very good luck ❤

    Thank you Dr. Tyna for telling the real truth. I am so sick of hearing these videos trying to scare everyone. Also saying diabetics are being denied their medication. Total BS. I am trying Rybelsus on a very small dose. I work out 4-5 days a week and have started strength training, due to your podcasts. My only issue is the fear of what happens when you go off. I plan to rotate on and off like you recommended. I plan to be on it for life if necessary. It does relieve the obsession with food, shopping, and other addictive behaviors. I have also read it may help early onset Alzheimers. Since my Mom had it, I am very eager to do anything I can do put it off. I also felt the brain fog lift. What a blessing!

If we want to fix the system we need to advocate for insurance coverage on Wegovy etc because we will have a much healthier population that will change the marketplace of healthcare.

      I eat carnivore style. Eating this way does the same thing as the GLP1 drugs do. I stop eating when I am full, I am not hungry for long periods of time (I practice intermittent fasting), and eating this way quiets the food noise. From what I have seen online other people eating carnivore style have experienced the same things. I am a diabetic. I tried FIVE drugs other than insulin under the care of an endocrinologist and I can't physically tolerate them. I tried Metformin, Time Released Metformin, Rybelsus, Trulicity, and Jardiance. The first four of these made me nauseous, and gave me diarrhea and horrible intestinal pain. I was on the toilet with diarrhea AND vomiting in the sink at the same time. The last on, Jardiance, put me in the ICU for four days with diabetic ketoacidosis. I'm back on insulin and eating carnivore style, basically zero carbs, and trying to get off insulin altogether.
