Instead of an education policy prioritising vocational training and apprenticeships as an alternative to the university pipeline, successive governments have left these people with no prospects. The importation of workers is not only a lazy fix, but it's been used to suppress worker bargaining rights, suppressing wages, imposing harsher working conditions, strain our services and cripple our housing market. And let's not forget that the fact of worker importation is in itself a form of resource extraction, taking people from their home countries where they could be beneficial to improving their own countries. And that's not even touching the social impact that this is having, with demographic change, culture change, crime and national security. Labour SHOULD be addressing these issues as these practices are really the domain of the Tories, but instead it looks like Labour intend to use mass immigration to increase their voting base, sending migrants to the areas that they are failing and losing support with. When a government puts it's own agenda before that of its citizens, it is by definition a tyranny. Ireland up to now always had strict immigration laws and rightly so. Irish passports were difficult to attain. Now Irish passports are given away like smarties to kids.
