HMF really has some of the best sounding exhaust for any quads. Sport quads, racing, 4x4 quads like grizzly and can am's ...HMF pipes are so crisp and throaty. I'm not saying they are the best, I know everyone has their favorite but they are right there at the top.
When you get the opportunity update the intake tube and you'll notice a huge difference in power throughout the entire RPM range. The Fuel Custom intake, Exhaust, and a set of camshafts will break 50hp on pump fuel. The KFX has a lot of potential to be a budget friendly power house.
I had the same problem on my trx450er and I just took the battery off and cleaned the connection points and put it back on worked fine if that doesn’t work take a rubber mallet an tap the starter lightly
I know the video is old but my guess it's a good possibility of your starter not disengaging or sticking which is my last likely more likely a connection or ground. make sure the ground wires connected solid from the exhaust and check the wire going to your starter. Last but not least LOL make sure when installing a new exhaust no wires get got close enough to melt and short sometimes it will happen on and off until it's bad enough to completely stop altogether. I'm by far an expert but I do all my own work sometimes it the simplest thing that I I overlooked...
Did you oil that filter mate? They need to be oiled otherwise it'll let fine dust through, quick way to shorten a motors life. I run a K&N and outerwares on my Raptor 700R.
It kills me seeing your kfx run knowing mine is broken at the house btw when i got mine it made the same click it needed a starter so thats your issue lol we have the same problem
Your starter is going my Yamaha warrior used to do that. When u rolled it in gear it rotated the gears in the starter and they catched. I had the same exact problem
Personally a Yoshimura or Fmf would sound good. I don't know how Hmf lasts since there new to me... I'll buy it for $2800 but it better have a new battery with it.
What fuel tune did you use? I got a completely stock KFX450R and I wanna install a HMF full exhaust on it but says that I need a fuel tune so I don’t know what I need for the exhaust

The starter could have had a dead spot where it didnt engage. Or the starter relay could have a bad connection

Thats what my Honda trx400x did and it was the solenoid
was that filter pre-oiled? if not i hope you oiled it prior to installing

I have a 1998 it’s a part On the engine it’s a brush that you have to replace I replaced mine and starts everytime

Hmf fuel programmer is what I installed if I remember correctly it’s about $300 but it’s simple to wire up.

Yes I do. But I’m not really sure if I actually needed it I would recommend if you get the full system tho or air intake change

Your starter is going bad. The brushes are probably rusty and when you tried to bump start it it turned the starter over too
