true, and you can make your own Potions with 1-3 effects. Resist Magic/Fortify Marksman for example against dragons and Mages (i think it is possible to create that potion, don't know all possible potions XD)
‘It’s best to take a break here because you can roleplay that the thalmor party is scheduled months away’ THANK YOU this is always the hardest roadblock to cross when I’m roleplaying in this game.
I love the idea of a normal man becoming a skilled witchhunter! It really reminds me of my Dnd bloodhunter and my current Skyrim Playthrough! Although my character takes on an Arcane Knight role with more bound weaponry! Thank you for this amazing and unique build!
As always, I love the lore, backstory, roleplay, and aesthetics. Dawnguard (siding with the Dawnguard) is my favorite faction questline. I like that The Witchkiller’s backstory is a common man rather than a fighting man and that his skills come from knowledge and practice. Windstad Manor is my favorite vanilla player home - a stunning location and a fish hatchery. The Witchhunter’s fighting style of crossbow, magic, and potions/poisons is one of my preferred combat styles since I tend to not use melee. Your use of The Witchkiller’s Bestiary to present the potions/poisons and combat strategies was very creative. As with some of your previous characters, I like how you tie in other characters from the Skypothesis universe. As an aside, I particularly love the backstory of this character being based at Renoit’s Books in Chorral. My main character, Estelle Dubois who is an ex-librarian of Daggerfall in High Rock and now book collector in Skyrim, is a descendent of Estelle Renoit of Renoit’s Books. I enjoyed the nostalgic trip around Chorrol during the backstory segment.
The build is awesome, but the effort put into editing these videos deserve much more appreciation than the build itself. Also, the backstories are always such amazing stories which could be actual Lore. I bow to you, skypothesis!

Honestly these videos are so well done you don't even have to play Skyrim or make the characters to enjoy the content. That said I do often make these characters, and I often have to jump back into the videos and jump around to find a stat or item the character needs and while the time stamps help with this I think having a description list stuff like race, standing stone and gear at the very least would be helpful

I just want to tell you that I absolutely love your channel. It's unique from the other channels. And there's plenty of them that I've seen. I'm so glad that I've found it.
I loved the build skypothesis , I have a character with a similar aestethic, he's a Breton named Edgard Ottus , he comes to Skyrim searching for Fame, Fortune and Knowledge , The Ottus family have a code of only using weapons and armor made from Silver , he's a Chaotic Neutral , he lives Life like It's a Song, even his weapons is named by Songs , on The build he uses heavy armor, 2h , Alteration, archery and enchanting , on battle he uses silver armor and weapons (Greatsword and Crossbow) alongside with flesh spells
I like this build I am going to mix this build with the skill and two handed block abilities of the redoran swordmaster to give even more Witcher aesthetic it’ll give this character so much ways to survive
Great build. A few equipment suggestions: 1) After buying a silver crossbow from the fletcher, you can take it to a forge to enhance it (requires Steel Smithing perk). Ignores 50% of enemy armour. 2) Swap out the Gauldur Amulet for Kyne's Token. More fitting for this character in terms of RP, 5% more bow damage & animals do 10% less damage (because of a bug this effect also applies to every enemy in your bestiary except vampires).
Dwemer Warlord or Tonal architect- Dwarven plate armor, wraith guard gauntlets, dwarven crown from the forgotten seasons dlc (all about the Dwemer), sunder+keening, dwarven staves, and tonal magic (mod), and plenty of dwarven ruins to explore. Maybe you can use that as inspiration for a future build? I’ve got a lot more I’d like to share but it’s be too much for a comment😅 love your videos btw!❤️
Love this build the Beastiary. Great touch! One little note, The Drunken Huntsman in Whiterun sells crossbows - usually Imperial and Silver at lvl 1, so the signature crossbow can be bought straight away.
The couch arrived in two boxes four days early, which was great because we'd just moved into a new house and needed places to sit. My son and I put it together pretty quickly ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxitRzxya-XugamYgLwa_2G1gxPg4MCJHa . Another reviewer suggested inserting the seat into the side and I'm glad they did as the instructions weren't clear on that matter. It's incredibly light and slides easily across the wood floor, making it easy to move. It's firm, but comfortable. It will even be great to nap on. I got the gray, which definitely has strong blue undertones, but I'm okay with that.
As always, everything that comes out of this channel is perfect Edit: for those who don't have access to the anniversary edition, the armour could probably be equated somewhat by using the dawnguard heavy armour with the temple priest hood. (Only issue is the death of a temple priest somehow being justified.)

My favorite build so far. I going to make this character tomorrow. Going to download a app to make a journal and bestiary for roleplay purposes. Amazing Work. Im still playing your Redoran Swordmaster build because it is so much fun but now i know what build i wanna try next. Thank you guys so much
The Beastiary is really cool. I love immersive habits like this that connect me to my character. I love to pretend i only know as much as my character would, to imagine i'm discovering the mysteries of Skyrim for the first time along with my character on their journey. Can i also just quickly say that its really silly that Trolls are weak to poison even though their fat gives resistance to poison? It just feels like a contradiction between one game mechanic and another. Anyway, great video! I'm not sold on the backstory, it seems kinda bare-bones, but the roleplay itself is quite cool! Also cyclone plus destruction rune is probably the coolest trickshot I've ever seen. Dope as hell.
One of my favorite builds is a super tanky argonian that once learns they are dragon born dives straight into the dragon part and mainly uses shouts and elemental spells and a giant great sword. Maybe y’all can think of a good back story for them?
I've been playing this a few days now. The first time I'm ever roleplaying Skyrim. All the time thinking, what would my character do, what is his motivation. This is so much more fun, that Achievment grinding. Thanks! Both of you!
Also I feel like you guys should do journal entries for some of these characters. I imagine given the character depth you guys are probably apt writers and while it would be pretty niche content I think some of us more diehards would appreciate some reading to really help us flesh out your Character creations in our minds.
@@Skypothesis it's exactly what made me think of it. I imagined journal entries describing the encounters and how he overcame them and I was like damn I would read the hell out of that. And it would be easier to copy paste the bestiary combos for my playthrough. Guys I watch tons of videogame content and no other creators breath life into the franchise like you do. If I knew someone at Bethesda I would plead with them to give you guys early access to TES6 so you could make builds pre release so new players to the franchise could get a taste of what level you take these games too with some creativity. I'd also love to see you guys do more gameplay restrictions that fit role play of characters to make some of the playthroughs more challenging without being ridiculous. I'd fail to give examples as creative as you guys could come up with but certain stuff I do is like thieve characters that I can't save scum hiests or pickpockets on so I go to jail alot. Or when playing non magic/ non alchemy characters I can only buy potions to heal with. The art thief is a great example of restrictions. That play through was so fun because it was challenging if I didn't plan ahead and leverage my barter skills to have the proper gear to tackle a mission or dungeon. That type of preplanning is so rewarding.
I love this build so much, the only things I changed were the gear, I went with Leather Scout Armor and hood, Leather Boots (the original) and Hide brawling gauntlets. It makes for a very Witcher Gear look.
I have spent months looking for a Witcher themed build, I didn’t want to download mods cause I’m lazy. But thank you so much for creating this beautiful build I can’t wait to use it when I finish using the Ghost of Atmora
Yesssss I f-ing called it too! I know a crossbow hunter when I see one haah I havent gotten 3 mins in yet and it might be my favorite build, as I have seen literally every variation of this archtype from UA-cam, reddit, and deep google searches including making my own. Thanks so much and can't wait to see whats coming next, I'm working on a artificer of sorts using dwemer tech, pets, the new cc staves basically he can't perk combat skills until enchantmenting is maxed, the RP being he boosts himself how ever possible and is an ravid seeker of technology and knowledge for his own machinations
Very well done! Kinda similar to a build I made when Anniversary Edition came out, But there's so many differences between the two. Also the witchkiller's backstory was well written. Looking forward to the next build.
This video especially the bestiary part, has honestly revitalised my love for skyrim, this feels awesome and it wouldn't be out of place in a book you can find and pick up. It's better than the witch hunter build video that fusguppet did, much as I love their channel.
If you’re open to build ideas, I would love to submit one of my own! I love this sort of character crafting! The Phoenix She is a Redguard woman garbed in robes and was part of a cult in Hammerfell dedicated to the bird itself. They were relatively peaceful, and believed in a cycle of life and Rebirth through flames. However, they lived relatively close to a Crown City that greatly disavowed magic, and eventually they send a squad of warriors to wipe them out. She and a few others escaped, deciding to take to a life of wandering. She’s a Neutral Good character, who will often forego rewards if she can. She is charitable, seeking to do the most good possible. Her skils are Enchanting Alteration, Destruction, Restoration and Heavy Armor. Her Gear is a set of Telvani Robes, muffled shoes and a hood of the players choice. She wears a set of Brawlers Gauntlets in case magic isn’t enough. She wears a Bonehawk Amulet and Azadal’s Ring of Inferno, and her enchantments are based around Cost reduction and Fire/magic resistance. Her destruction spells should only be fire or sun spells Her restoration spells should be turning undead or protection spells as well as healing self and others Her Alteration spells should be flesh spells and the Ash spells from Dragonborn. To symbolize rising from the ashes. She should only get the heavy armor rating and the fists of steel perk, and the gauntlets should be enchanted with unarmed damage.
Great build! A cool idea would be a Breton who is well versed in the ancient magics (I chose Breton, because there are Bretons in the Forsworn). He has alteration, alchemy, enchanting and uses staves and scrolls. He also would have a lot of shouts with the whole ancient magic idea. You could use a little bit of destruction, and restoration, and you could have a conjure familiar and flaming familiar. Lycanthropy is optional, but it's a good vibe. Vlindrel Hall would be the likeliest place, and black mage robes would be used.
for destruction - I've found casting the newly added absorb life spells "hangmans noose", "touch of death", etc. level my destruction WAY quicker than elemental vanilla spells
YES! I've been waiting for a build like this for so long! I actually just recently made a Vigilant build I'm super proud of based off all the new silver weapons!
I've been trying to make a build like this with runes but i never thought of using it with shouts, just found my new unmodded playthrough. If you want to make a beastiary there is a mod called skyrim beastiary that lets you use items taken from creatures to make journals on them and eventually gives you a damage buff to those creatures
Cool that you used the less popular spells In the game to make them effective! I wouldn’t have thought to use the rune spells with a shout like that, great video - I’ll try to learn tricks like that In my build videos I also liked how you showed guides to kill the enemies of Skyrim In a first person way. And the way you edited the skill perks and showed the skill tree with gameplay behind It was really Impressive! 👍
"Skyrim Civil War" for both Stormcloaks and Imperials. Turns them into Werewolves (Stormcloaks) and Vampires (Imperials). There's also a mod for Companions that turns the Silverhand into vampires as well. I use these three to further my roleplay as a vampire hunter!
Oh my there is so much to say. Absolutely wonderful build! Definitely starting this tonight. More Skypothesis universe = awesome. Beastiary was an amazing addition to this build. And I love the call before the storm special move. Keep up the great work!
Love it! Although I may dial back the Magic and take a Scimitar myself (I Hunt Witches, after all!) Back the crossbow up with something capable of getting in close and collecting a few Witch heads! And maybe some purging fire, too.
I really love this build. I have a similar build the only difference is I chose the spell knight armor(CC). With the 2 variants of the ebony armor it adds a bit more immersion for me. I went with the restoration variant. I really appreciate all the hard work put into your builds and videos.
Ive always had a fun idea for a "Cursed Slayer" build, and its essentially a crossbow/werewolf build designed to be a monster hunter favored by hircine, despite not liking it he uses the beast form as an advantage, viewing it as fighting fire with fire
Just made a character inspired by this build. If you go to Riverwood, get Faendal as a follower, and train Archery up to 50, it handles pretty well on Legendary at early levels. Since this is a Creation Club build, grab Turn Lesser Undead get to Goldenhills Plantation, and you are all set up for alchemy right away. You have to pass the plantation, anyway, if you take the road from Whiterun to Rorikstead.
Guys, amazing job seriously you guys truly care building well crafted stories and gameplay loops in your characters and I just want you to know how much I love what you guys do.
So, I just found you guys recently, with this video as it happens. As I've gotten back into Skyrim after a sizeable break (following a nearly 63 level, RP-intensive build that left me burnt out), your videos are giving me some serious inspiration. While I'm normally someone who mods the hell of of his games, I keep a second copy on my Switch just for vanilla/AE builds, and have started giving the Witchkiller a go. Normally, I struggle with roleplaying in the game, but this one gives me some interesting points to try and focus on, so it might help me get better at it. Anyway, to close out this rambling comment, I just want to say thank you. I have quite a few more build videos to watch, but you guys are giving me a whole new appreciation for the vanilla game.
I also just started to play the anniversary edition. Even with a similar crossbow focused build (less magic more dawnbreaker) it‘s nice to see that my Anvil-born Nord is not hunting alone.
I’ve recently made my own version of this build. She is called kilena, with this build I added a twist she is a vampire and has access to the vampire spells as well a bit of necromancy, I explain this by a fight fire with fire thing, I use staffs along side my Stalhrim sword nevermore, I also use a silver sword and of course an enchanted ebony crossbow night strike
Hope to see more content someday. Id like to see you do builds for each race that only use the raised starting skills for each race. The ways you make the backstory for each build makes me want to see more and more.
If you’re playing this build on master or legendary difficulty, I HIGHLY recommend picking Breton over Imperial, as well as a 3health 2magicka 1stamina as health plays such a bigger role on harder difficulties as well as just a little extra stamina helps if you need to run from enemies
What a wild coincidence! I just began a similar build the other day. He uses Alteration instead of armor, though. Mara's Wrath is my favorite way of keeping the undead at bay while I line up my shots.
I’m digging the Witcher bestiary vibe. Very *creative and immersive* I appreciate you’re not using mods, but rather…. sticking to Skyrim anniversary edition content. I play on switch -> subscribed.
It’s been a long while since I played Skyrim last, and while I might make some changes to this (namely the race I play as), I think a fun addition to this build would be to play it in Survival Mode since that gives an even more real feel to playing someone who’s learning and growing in this new environment.
I honestly play way too many magic, warrior and battle mage builds and felt it was time to play some kind of stealth or archery build, but I wasn’t really feeling the stealth archer. I also was looking to make some kind of magus Templar who was holy since I play neutral to evil characters. Then I decided to click on this build. This is everything I was looking for. Archery focus, but not giving up the magic I love, different role play and interesting gameplay.
The Bestiary section is the single best piece of Skyrim RP work I have ever seen.
The Take Notes mod would be awesome for this in game.
Yup, I'm taking screenshots
Agreed. I especially loved the explanation of lit torches in deep crypts that have seen no life in centuries.
I love bestiaries in general, they are always so cool.
true, and you can make your own Potions with 1-3 effects. Resist Magic/Fortify Marksman for example against dragons and Mages (i think it is possible to create that potion, don't know all possible potions XD)

Been buzzed for this, can’t wait for watch it after work!
I know a crossbow hunter when I see one haah
I havent gotten 3 mins in yet and it might be my favorite build, as I have seen literally every variation of this archtype from UA-cam, reddit, and deep google searches including making my own.
Coming back over a year later, I still think this is one of the most interesting, engaging, and immersive builds out there. Absolutely amazing work!
This is VERY much my play style. Crossbow and magic, all the way. Great build. Very Witcher-esque in the Skyrim universe. Great job, guys. 👍🏻👍🏻
This is an amazingly well-done build, and all the recipes and art only adds to the professional quality of the video in total. Nice job guys!
Thank you!!
Love the Bestiary notes
Thanks so much, we had a blast making them!
This is still by far my favourite build, this character is so cool!
Very well done!
Kinda similar to a build I made when Anniversary Edition came out,
But there's so many differences between the two. Also the witchkiller's backstory was well written.
Looking forward to the next build.
Thank you!!
This is my favorite build I’ve seen in 10 years. I absolutely love the Bestiary.
This video especially the bestiary part, has honestly revitalised my love for skyrim, this feels awesome and it wouldn't be out of place in a book you can find and pick up.
It's better than the witch hunter build video that fusguppet did, much as I love their channel.
How about amber armor wearing Argonian? Haven’t seen anyone ever do it, yet amber plasm and hist trees have lots of intertwined lore.
Hey that could be cool!!
If you’re open to build ideas, I would love to submit one of my own! I love this sort of character crafting!
The Phoenix
She is a Redguard woman garbed in robes and was part of a cult in Hammerfell dedicated to the bird itself.
Her destruction spells should only be fire or sun spells
Her restoration spells should be turning undead or protection spells as well as healing self and others
Her Alteration spells should be flesh spells and the Ash spells from Dragonborn. To symbolize rising from the ashes.
She should only get the heavy armor rating and the fists of steel perk, and the gauntlets should be enchanted with unarmed damage.
Hey that's an awesome idea! You should share it on the character building channel of our discord if you haven't already!
My favorite range weapons are crossbows and this build is awesome
YES! I've been waiting for a build like this for so long! I actually just recently made a Vigilant build I'm super proud of based off all the new silver weapons!
Ayy perfect timing!
I swear it’s like you guys read my mind and now exactly what kind of builds I’m looking for… great build as usual!
I've been trying to make a build like this with runes but i never thought of using it with shouts, just found my new unmodded playthrough. If you want to make a beastiary there is a mod called skyrim beastiary that lets you use items taken from creatures to make journals on them and eventually gives you a damage buff to those creatures
Didn't know about that mod, sounds sweet!
@@Skypothesis sadly i think it got taken off for consoles
Cool that you used the less popular spells In the game to make them effective! I wouldn’t have thought to use the rune spells with a shout like that, great video - I’ll try to learn tricks like that In my build videos
I also liked how you showed guides to kill the enemies of Skyrim In a first person way.
Keep up the great work!
another amazing build, the beastiary is a master piece! great work guys!!!!
Glad you liked it, thank you!
Idk if it’s new to this video only, but I like how you put up drawings/artwork of the enemies as you explained them.
Thanks!! It will be unique to the Witchkiller :)
@@Skypothesis makes sense, as he will need to keep track of the beasts he sees. You may have even said that. 😜
Bro your mystic knight build is so overpowered! I’ve been playing it for the past three days, and he can block like all magic!
Love it!
Although I may dial back the Magic and take a Scimitar myself (I Hunt Witches, after all!)
Back the crossbow up with something capable of getting in close and collecting a few Witch heads!
Well I was about to finally get around to Cyberpunk 2077 but this build just looks too good to wait. “Hey you, you’re finally awake…”
Fiiinnneeee, I'll start ANOTHER playthrough!
Seriously, keep the amazing builds up!
I also just started to play the anniversary edition. Even with a similar crossbow focused build (less magic more dawnbreaker) it‘s nice to see that my Anvil-born Nord is not hunting alone.
Thank you guys for putting so much effort in these builds 🙏🏾. This is probably my favorite channel rn
No way! I made a modded build inspired by the Witcher too. Although it took me some time. The beastiary part is my favourite one. I love it!
Ayo what a coincidence I just started a Witch hunter class build except I use bows and light armour
Can you make more hybrid builds? Like a wood orc or green knight?
Imagine an orc using berserker rage with a bow or a heavily armored sneaky bosmer???
Ok magelight actually triggers runes is something I have never ever seen mentioned before.
We were so stoked when we figured it out hahaha
@@Skypothesis this is gonna be the next big skyrim "did you know" ahha
Hope to see more content someday. Id like to see you do builds for each race that only use the raised starting skills for each race. The ways you make the backstory for each build makes me want to see more and more.
22:29I tought for a moment im watching fudge muppet
thanks for you're work, you have changed the way I play
If you’re playing this build on master or legendary difficulty, I HIGHLY recommend picking Breton over Imperial, as well as a 3health 2magicka 1stamina as health plays such a bigger role on harder difficulties as well as just a little extra stamina helps if you need to run from enemies
I'm a big fan of your builds, you've inspired me to make content. Much love ❤ 💙
💙💙
Sick build. Crossbow + Magic is so much fun in Skyrim
What a wild coincidence! I just began a similar build the other day. He uses Alteration instead of armor, though. Mara's Wrath is my favorite way of keeping the undead at bay while I line up my shots.
I’m digging the Witcher bestiary vibe. Very *creative and immersive*
I appreciate you’re not using mods, but rather…. sticking to Skyrim anniversary edition content. I play on switch -> subscribed.
That rune toss was sick
-The Witch Killer Vanilla
Armor -
Helm - Adept Hood
Chest - Black Dawnguard Heavy Armor
Hands - Steel Nordic Gauntlets
Boots - Steel Nordic Boots
Skills -
Elemental Tomb -- (Bolt + Paralysis Poison) + Elemental Wall
Calm Before The Storm -- Voice Of The Emperor + Lightning Rune + Magelight + Storm Call/Chain Lightning(indoors)
I like the way you added for Dwarven Automatons.
I need a D&D build for this character...
The AE gives you Unbounded Storms, which you can use to max destruction in a matter of minutes 😊
So many things I’ve realized you can do in this game just from this video and I’ve been playing since it came out lol
I never thought to keep notes or a journal like the bestiary that is really cool
No better way to start the afternoon with a new roleplay build I've completed the evil Oblivion sentinel build as a dark elf
