I just changed the title of the video as a whole, as the old title was a little bit misleading.

Tbh i dont blame robtop for disliking this type of gameplay,its kinda annoying,but dont giving it a featured just because of his personal preference is really rude in my opinion
1: rude? 1 creator point less is rude? And 2: as a monile player who only plays platformer, speedtek was probably the only level to do the slope gimmick right. Slope boosting is pretty confusing for newer players as well.

But I think Robtop was right, slope jumps are weird on mobile. And removing thr slope jump really appeals to the mobile users.

As a casual mobile player, slopes in platformers are the worst thing ever. Maybe its fine, FOR A PRO. Tho maybe its just a skill issue

@@Ellie_2810platformers are new, nowhere near their skill cap yet. Insane demons are still fairly difficult, but they aren't at the level where you should be required to know how to do stuff like slope boosting
@neoncat6820 mainly think people shouldn't use slopes because most people aren't going to take their time out of their day to master it. It just doesn't feel smooth compared to everything else

Yeah, what he's doing is giving criticism to levels in his own game. He made the rating system, the rating system is meant to be controlled by him, so yes, his opinion on what gameplay is good/bad should mean something.
Besides, many people other than robtop dislike slope boosting, and others don't. It's best to make levels accessible to more people (especially easier ones such as platformers), so slope boosting is bad gameplay as a lot of people are unable to do it.

Ok robtops actually based as hell for this one. Slopes mess with your momentum so much, making you go into a "sliding mode" that doesn't stop when you think it should a lot of the time
robtop is the same guy that featured terminal heaven, one day he will like a certain gameplay gimmick and the other day he will kill anyone using it, he is very inconsistent with his words.
I agree that the way that "slide state" activates in the game is really indiscernible. Slope boosting isn't a bug, it's an exploit, but what IS a bug is that slide state retains between restarts, including full restarts (ctrl+r). That lets you clip through blocks, by the way.

i definitely feel like rob went a little far with this take. i agreed almost fully with the spike hitbox thing and can even see where rob is coming from on this one. but slope boosting is in the same vein as a speedrun tactic, you learn it and use it. you could say that about spike hitboxes too but i feel like this is much easier of a mechanic and its not really worth to worry about

I think its really interesting watching the "rules" of platformer mode get established. Classic levels have had such a long time to establish what is and isn't good gameplay, but platformer has been out less than a year and a lot of ideas are being thrown around.
Hope that player light will appear in the next couple videos
The slope glitch can be really fun and satisfying imo (in Terminal Heaven for example)

YES i really dont play Platformer but the Platformers i play sometimes use Slope GP and i also never like Speed Tech (i think) cuz it uses this mechanic way to much. some call it skill issue some agree idgaf
Robtop’s rating system is super weird, he rates 40-50 second 2 stars with zero gameplay, and when a good level comes out with time and effort put into it, he just ignores it (unless it’s from a popular creator)

As a mobile player, I'm building a level based mostly around slope boosting (gameplay wise) and I really like the mechanic, Rob just has a skill issue

I dont wanna flex or anything but i beat like many top extreme platformers and some of them im the only mobile victor rn, i beat terminal heaven (top 1 rated slope boost level) 8 times one of em being a 3:30 minute speedrun so if robtop says slope boosting is bad on phone its honestly a skill issue cus slope boosting on mobile is very fun and consistent when u get used to it, its same thing with needle gp that robtop also hated
