I hardly ever leave a review but I had to share this. I applied to cambly and used your tips for my video. I uploaded that afternoon and the next morning I had a "Welcome to the Cambly Tutor Community! email in my box that had come in at 4:02 am. Just wanted to say thank a million.
@@Rabits52 I haven't taught on Cambly in a little over a year, however, when I was teaching it was I believe $10 an hour for adults and $12 an hour for kids. I am currently a Pinterest Manager, but I may start trying to pick up a few classes a week, because I do miss teaching ;)
I like the fact that you don't talk fast in your presentation video - and that makes sense! I thought I should talk at a faster pace, but when you think the potential stundets can be only at the beginning of their learning journey, it's impetus you speak slowly and clearly, with many hand gestures to help them understand you better!!! ❤ Cambly seems like a nice platform to work on, too bad they only accept native English teachers.
I am very amazed of how you do your vedio. I am currently applying cambly but searching for courage on my intro vedio... Thank you of sharing you vedio hope that you next vedio will be my great help on my online teaching journey . God bless
Hi Kirsty. I love your intro video and i will definitely incorporate your tips in mine. Thank you for an awesome video. I am, however, struggling to speak to a computer/cellphone screen as there's no human interaction. How do you overcome this challenge? Please help.
I am so sorry I missed this comment. Speaking to your computer or cell phone definitely feels weird. I know some people will put an image of a loved one behind their computer or phone screen so they can feel like they have a focal point and are speaking with someone. I hope this helps.
For little kids there is usually a library or lessons and with adults they will sometimes have something specific. But most of the time adults just want to have free talk
ThankYou Kirsty this is a really good video and loved your intro video for Cambly. You really demonstrate well the importance of being clear. Note: IMO the music on this is far too loud and intrusive, perhaps make it quieter?
Hi Kristy, can you advise about the current hiring situation at cambly? Do you have any additional tips? I applied three weeks ago and hadn't heard anything back. I contacted them and they said they can't give personal feedback but said I should re-apply with a different email address in a few months. I'm an experienced ESL teacher. What do you advise? Thanks
Is the introduction video geared towards Cambly or the students? I am a bit confused if I should speak to a non native english speaker or to recruiters at Cambly
🤗 been going through all the videos need to apply on Cambly your video is more simple and very helpful i really like it. But unlike me i don't have a degree or anything but really need to teach English 🙈🙈
To whom should we address the video? the students? parents? or Cambly hiring team?? I cannot find a content that shares tips for those who have no online or formal teaching experience. Its hard to relate. anyway, thank you for the tips.
Thank you so much. Yes, I used filmora wondershare for editing. It allows you to choose music and adjust the volume. Here is a link if you would like to check it out. Hi Shivani, Thank you for reaching out. I honestly don't know what the chances are. I would read what Cambly whether or not they hire non native speakers. :) I hope this helps. If I find more information, I will let you know.
Yes, they are always hiring, sometimes it can take a little longer to hear back from them. I heard back in 2 weeks for the kids side. That was about 2 weeks ago. The adult side took almost 4 weeks for me to get hired. I hope this helps.
Hi Kristy, I also have been hired, and I'm glad I found your video. Thank you for the information!!! Great job on your first UA-cam video. Where did you get your cute teacher T shirt?
When I applied, you had to apply for Cambly first and then cambly kids. I will try to work on posting the video I used for my kids application. Hopefully I can have one up next week.
Hi Teacher Kristy! I am planning on applying at cambly, but I have no experience applying before And wanted to know if I should add background music to my first introduction/application video ? Thank you in advance for the response 😊
Hello teacher Kristy! I really loved your introduction video. I've applied on the 28th of April and my introduction video doesn't have background music. How long do I have to wait to know if I got hired?
Cambly is a very low paying conversation site. It is not a teaching site and you are not looking for you to teach. You are not paid to teach. It has a very high churn of tutors who realise that it is simply not worth doing. The site requires you to have no quals or experience teaching. They can take a day to weeks, or months to get onboarded. They are looking for a wide age range, different accents, different locations, etc.
