I picked up a bushlore 5 years ago when I first started getting into bushcraft. It's still my main knife. I have a mora robust for my UL hiking kit. You don't have to spend a fortune on *everything* :)
Love mine. Bought years ago before price and perceived value went up. first time stabilizing a handle. Really great 'only one' knife. Enjoying new channel.
I have several bushlores and they have never failed me. An excellent knife for general camp and bushcraft jobs. When I first started buying them, they were about $35. They're now about $50, but still an excellent price for a very good knife.
Now these cost 110 euro for the newer version. At least, someone doesn't have to spend 500$ for a good knife, for a user knife, those low alloy carbon steels, are the best choice for such a knife. Unfortunately, people have been brainwashed with UA-cam marketing videos and in the same time, have little experience, so they think, that they have to spend hundreds of dollars, for a knife, that they finaly end up not using at all, they just keep them in a drawer eating dust forever!!
Great review Andy. At 0:51, thank you!! I will never get the "pound" or "quid" figured out, so your conversion from pound to dollar was much appreciated. That kept me from having to google the conversion!!😁👍 I do believe you will do great with this new channel. Happy trails! Roger
Actually it's more like (roughly) 100 USD to 70 GBP.. u can't go by the price of the same knife between UK and the states. Typically American knives cost a lot more in the UK. Alternatively, you may be able to score a Hultafors cheaper in the UK inasmuch as I know..
Hi Andy, when you announced changes to your channel, I wasn't happy. If something is really good, changes are rarely good. But now I love both of your channels. Thanks a lot from Germany, always a pleasure to see you out in the woods
Great review of your Bushlore. I have spent piles of money on knives looking for that "perfect knife," and with all that I have spent, I still use my bushlore almost exclusively. It's a knife that works and works well.
I love mine. It goes blow for blow with my all time favorite 110 as an absolute all purpose knife. It is great for food, fire, carving tools, fishing, big game, small game, beef butchering, pig skinning, glove box, backpack, belt, and most of all sharpening. If you could only have one, this would be a good one to have.
I was a bit skeptical about the second channel, but you made it work perfectly - honest "this is what I use and what I like about it". Great reviews, keep up the good work.
I also have a Mora that I carry with me every where I go. They look pretty comparable in size. I may have to look into this one. A little heavier duty by the looks of what you use it for.
I got a sheath knife when I was 10 years old (an 8" Bowie) and I’ve done all sorts with it. I have plenty of better knives, but if I was on Desert Island Knives, this would be the one I would save from the waves!
Hi Andy, I've got one of these knives, it goes where I go. Steel hardness is a compromise, harder steel such as 1095 may hold an edge better but, it takes more to sharpen and it can chip. 1075 is a bit softer but easy to sharpen in the field. I've never had mine chip, but, that fine scandi edge can roll with a softer steel. Pick your poison. Good review! Many thanks!
Micro bevels I don't mind. But an all out secondary Ill grind right off. Also that's funny how acidic fruit can stain a blade in seconds. I was just talking about that earlier today actually. I cut some strawberries and it murdered the mirror polish that came on the blade. Lol
Great knife, I have one of these too. I had to sharpen up the spine to get it to scrape a ferro rod though. Thanks for the review Andy. Are you going to give us a review of your LL Bean rucksack? I’m tempted to get one. Thank you.
Good morning Chris! I'm in the state's, and often see comment's similar to your's, " transporting knives in the UK for bushcraft purposes (legality, etc)" mentioned. Would you mind touching on that please? Here, I would consider it rude NOT to have a knife on you at all time's.😉🔪 Just curious about the legality of knives in the UK. Thanks!! Be well. Roger
@@rkf2746 It's a political nightmare. Apparently citizens need a reason to carry a knife for business purposes... Is bushcraft a business reason? Inner cities have suffered terrible "knife crime", but common sense should prevail on the matter.
@@chris_stacey Thanks Chris, I appreciate the response. I kinda suspected it would be tied into crime some-how. You often see the knife issue mentioned on some of these channel's, but have never seen it explained. You mention common sense. I don't know about the UK, but here, common sense has, apparently, all but been forgotten. Thanks again. Take care. Roger
When I was growing up in the 60s here in the UK I lived in a village surounded by countryside, it was perfectly normal for us kids to wander about with sheath knives on our belts, after all we were always in the woods and fields building dens and camping out, we understood knives and how to use them properly, no one ever got threatened with a knife or stabbed, we understood they were a tool and not a status symbol, those days are long gone now sadly.
@@beyergarret123 Same here. I grew up in Cornwall in the 1980s, went to the scouts and later the army cadets. Knives are tools to be respected and used with care and knowledge.
great vid bro :) a wise bushman told me along time ago , your knife should be most expensive/best quality item on you in the woods , I prefer the convex grinds from bark river , but I also have a few moras, that , depending on situation I'll use before my squad leader even, :)
Thx for vid! am a weekend hiker and some times 7-8 days out. My knife is Mora bushcraft, stumble on this one and design realy got my eye. How it performe round the camp? price i think is good too. M
Hi, great vids, I'll be checking you other channel and following in the future, why do you recommend the dangler as opposed to clipping directly to belt?
I have the mora garberg carbon which I like as at the time I discovered this I'd already bought it still the garberg is a excellent knife full tang kinda indestructible so I guess I'll be sticking with it for a while 😂
Very nice knife at very good price. The knife I would love to have is a Jacklore Classic, but never been lucky to get one when they come up for sale .Are there any knife makers knifes you would like to have?
I do hope for a jack lore myself one day, now isn't the right time though.. id also be a bit worried about being as brutal as I am with this haha.. I know it'll be well built etc but its hard to be that rough on a beautiful object :)
It's not all about the quality of the tool, but the quality of the craftsman using it. I'm willing to bet my Jacklore knives will last longer on a task, but do the job no better.
LoL!! That reminded me of a saying an old ranch manager in Wyoming used to say. "It ain't how good the horse under the cowboy is, but how good the cowboy is that's setting on the horse". Be well. Roger
Or you could get a sr1 lite from cold steel and use that knife everything and every day. It's a folding knife strong and tough cold steel there slogan in any time any where there knifes will never fail at all strongest locking systems ever triad lock. Good video
I bot Bushlore 7days ago 50€ worth every penny. Leter sheet is incredible and only sheet worth that price. Knife is beter than Mora Black and its hewier in arms for worth., also wery good grip has voden handle.
SO...it is true, one can SPEND MORE without buying MORE UTILITY. As a youth, I imagined that the bigger, heavier bladed knives had to be 'the real deal.' Those knives never worked well for me when it came to doing what I NEEDED to do on a hike or in camp. My most used outdoor knives are the size of yours as to blade length and width and thickness. I am not fond of the Scandi grind for slicing...but you make it work well, so go figure.
im a little bit ashamed for my realsteel good old china bushcraft knife which i abuse since a couple years... well i dont have money, it was cheap and still does its job :)

Finally, a video with the specifications in metric system! Many thanks!

Thank you Stan :) New main channel video tomorrow! :D
Great review Andy! Since you use that knife all the time and have had it for 3 years, I’d take that as a solid reason to get myself one. Thanks.
A sensible review ! For the price point Condor knives and other products they make are top notch . Cheers 👍

Got one of these last year after seeing you use the snot out of yours, great knife for the money!!! Thanks cheers
After watch you use this knife for a while now I think I might have to upgrade mine and try it out. Thanks Andy.
Great review, thanks for your honesty and wealth of information
Mine cost about $35 US in 2017. Now it's about $55 on Amazon. Guess Condor is doing something right. Very happy with mine.

Yeah, got one of these too and also added a dangler from an old magnate c cell torch and a spring snap ring. I like it. 👍🏼
Loving these reviews!!!! Great stuff. Thanks
The mini is awesome! Sooooo perfect edc
The 1075 is softer than the 1095 but it is tougher than the latter. I would not strike a ferro rod with a knife I use to cut food.

Enjoying the reviews, Andy! I appreciate the conversation as well!
Great review the best I have seen on this knife thank you
one of these days I will get one of these knives, looks like a good size for my medium paws
Great video. Cant wait for mine to arrive.

nice knife 😊 certainly works nicely!

Great review, thanks for sharing your experience with that model of knife. ATB :)
I got this on your recommendation and I love it! Cheers Andy. ❤
like your channel and the fact that you use the same tools on most videos
Have the same knife. Love it
A very good tough knife!!
Looks great mate. What is it with the Brits and Lore in their knife names?. Bushlore, Jacklore, Woodlore, Brutelore, Yardley Goldlore. lol.
ahh its knifelore! 🤪 lol we brits are strange like that!
Much lore from days of yore.
Morning, is there any chance you could do a short video on the best way of sharpening an axe and a knife? Thanks
Nice I am enjoying these reviews
This review sold me the knife. Cheers
Very nicely reviewed * Looks to be a great work-horse of a knife :-)

we have the same knife and the same dangler. that's something you don't see often

I find the Condor Bushlore (not the early runs) to be excellent

can you please make it a bit confusing, Andy? The condor looks a bit like my TBS BOAR 🐗
