These motors had problems with lean running leading to seizure. BMC tried to sure it with carburettor needles and then lowering the compression. Neither worked. Actually the issue was vibration, the cure to use a rubber-ring from Webber carb mount for the standard SU. Simple and it works

Very nice work! Its a beautiful car. The cam bucket shims (tappets) sound like they need to be a tighter, 12 to 15 thousand on a cold engine

It does not sound like my MGA 1600. Rather ragged. Fascinating to watch the restoration.
probably needs fine tuning of its carburetion. Hardly surprising, it's a total restoration taking its first run
