- This in-car video was taken during the 2012 Sebring Race, which honored the 50th anniversary of the Sebring MGAs. It was taken by Michael Zbarsky from our MGA Twincam, which might be the last Twincam to take a Green/Checkered flag at Sebring. When asked if he could have overtaken some of the other cars, Michael said.....'This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to follow #52, a Sebring MGA, and #60, a Sebring MGB GT......why screw with history!!" Enjoy the video and Twincam sounds.....
What a gorgeous sound. They sound SO different from any other MGA - or any MG for that matter. Thanks for having a remote microphone as well! Yeay! A race video with no wind noise!!!!
Thanks for the note. The twincam engine in this car is modified to run 12:1 compression, with fairly aggressive cam timing. If I knew how to better shift gears, it would sound even better. The transmission is MG 4sync, close ratio, square cut (with O/D). I was keeping the revs down, basically following my son in the #60 MGB GT Sebring car.....
Ralph Thank You and Michael Zbarsky for this awesome video ! Team Zbarsky looked awesome on the Sebring Raceway this year ! Thanks From Karl Tearoffguys
Your MGA Twin Cam And MGB GT at Sebring with the Sebring Twincams and MGB GT Twincam really looked great out there !
Thanks for sharing this great video! Beautiful car and beautiful sound!
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for the note!
Fantastic sound track, beautifully recorded. Thanks. What modifications have you done with the engine from standard twin cam?
Wonderful!
Sounds just great these were flat plane crank engines right?
Thanks for the note David. Actually, the crank in this engine was caniballized from a Sherpa van, 1622 cc engine, as the original crank had a hairline crack ! We try to keep the revs down below 7000...... RZ
Gorgeous. Entertaining. thnx *:)*
